Maddison stiffled a yawn and then looked up at Emerson. "Do you want to head out? I should be getting back to Robin. He can never be left alone to his own devices for long or something bad usually happens." Like her bloody couch, or the fire before their encounter. It seemed like bad luck traveled him wherever he went. However, Maddison wasn't exactly sure what Robin was doing that night. Probably something Robin-ish.

She didn't ever really ask. She just went with it. The blonde stood and gave a stretch. "It was really good getting together with you again. I love coffee too anyways. I'm excited for our Halloween thing. I can't wait to dress up and I think I forgot to tell you that me and Robin are doing that fall day thing where I immerse him into fall activities. It's going to be so much fun."

Maddison loved fall, everything about fall. Winter was also one of her favorite seasons. She liked bring able to bundle up and be all cozy with fun activities for both of the seasons. It was really nice. She grinned to Emerson and then started towards the door.

They could talk on the way home.

"Oh, sure." Emerson stood from her seat rather clumsily, knocking her hip against the table in the process. She cringed, recovered quickly and raised an eyebrow. "Something bad happens? Like what?" She knew that the male was quite the character himself, so it didn't surprise her too much that he could be landing himself in some sort of trouble as the two woman spoke. Hopefully, it was nothing big - just harmless mishaps that could be fixed with a snap and laughed over after they were finished.

"It was good to see you too! I had fun. I like doing this kind of stuff - talking." It was kind of ironic since the brunette could more often than not come off as the quietest little thing, but she'd proven herself capable of being a chatterbox that night. And capable of letting her mouth run before her mind could catch up with it. She would have to work on it. Couldn't be saying stupid **** to customers during work, that was for sure.

"What kind of fall things? Pumpkin patch? Apple picking? A hay ride?" Emerson could come up with a million other things. She had made herself a list of all the possible activities she could do during this month and the next and checked them off as they were complete. So far, only 'go trick-or-treating' seemed like it was going to be the only one that would actually be followed through. She wouldn't dare go to anything on her own, and since Maddison and Robin seemed to be occupied, she didn't, and wouldn't, ask them. Emerson was unsure if Prudence would want to tag along to do anything with her, and although it wouldn't hurt to ask, the girl decided against it. It was better to pretend that everyone was busy rather than risk being confronted with that fact that they genuinely didn't want to hang out with her.

Joining the blonde at the door, Emerson took hold of the handle and pulled it open, letting Maddison out first. She walked beside the other woman, surveying their surroundings as she scuffed down the sidewalk. She couldn't help but think that a sunset of reds and oranges and yellows would look so fitting in the sky at that moment. A sigh of disappointment left her lungs. She had never thought about missing the sun before, but it was quite obvious that she did miss it.

"Well. He usually ends up hurt. Like when he bled all over my couch. I only assume he was doing something stupid and got hurt. So, things like that happens. I'm sure he's done something by now." Maddison laughed a little. She hoped he didn't damage her new couch. The blonde was not amused when she had found the blood stain. Just another day in the life of Maddison and Robin. They were an odd couple.

Maddison started down the sidewalk, thanking Emerson when she held open the door for her. "Yes, all of those things. Pumpkin picking, corn mazes, just a day filled with fall. I want some more pumpkins for my house, ones that me and him actually pick. It'll be fun to get to hang out with him and make some memories. I'll be sure to take some pictures."

The blonde continued down the sidewalk, she became more quiet after that. She was lost in thought about what her and Robin were going to do. Her mind slid to thoughts of how they met and how much had changed since then. It'd only been a few months but her and Robin had went from strangers to a couple. She hoped it lasted, it'd be weird if he were still her sire and they weren't together.

Emerson hummed in response. She had remembered the bloody couch incident - no details of it, just the fact that it happened. It struck her as a bit out of the ordinary, but then again, what was normal about their lives? The three of them were vampires, after all. The brunette had wondered what exactly someone could do that would accidentally land them with such an injury - unless Robin himself hadn't bled on the couch. Maybe it wasn't his blood. That would make sense because, well, Robin was a vampire. He needed other people's blood. And if he was anything like Emerson, who was almost always managing to spill or drop at least one component of her meal, it would make perfect sense.

"Wow, that sounds like tons of fun!" Although she was excited for the pair, Emerson was slightly jealous. All the things she wanted to do were being done by other people. It was her own fault, though. She was the one who couldn't muster up enough courage to go out on her own or ask others to accompany her. Did that give her the right to be jealous? Probably not. "Do you think you'll use the pumpkins for anything? Jack-o-lanterns, or baking? Pumpkin pie is one of my favorites." Emerson knew that Maddison was good in the kitchen, so the suggestion worked. She also suggested it because she never quite understood why people would leave plain pumpkins out. As decorations, sure, but the pumpkins would only be able to sit out for so long before they began to rot. What was the point? Even if pumpkins were only plants, the girl still saw it as unnecessary killing. At least make the effort to carve a couple of triangles.

The conversation between the two woman had dwindled down to nothing, and Emerson let it. She didn't mind the silence. In a way, it was comforting. The girl didn't have to worry about saying too much or too little, the right thing or the wrong. However, as they continued walking, a loud noise came from one of the alleyways. Emerson couldn't help but move closer to Maddison. It was dark out. Granted, when she was awake, it was always dark out, but something bad about it was embedded in the back of her mind. Fear. She was always a bit scared walking on her own. She tried not to make it blatantly obvious to onlookers because then she would seem like an easy target. She knew that. Luckily, with a quick glance over her shoulder, she saw a pair of small cats chasing one another out the alley and down the sidewalk, and was able to let out a sigh of relief.

"Sorry," she mumbled, making space between her and the blonde again. "M'always paranoid that someone's out to get me, or something." She shrugged her shoulders, but she thought the idea was a rather logical one. She'd had a life before this new one in Harper Rock that had been created. Someone must have been worried about her by now. It'd been almost three months since she'd been turned, after all. Someone must have cared enough to come looking.

Maddison nodded some. "Yeah, I'll use them. To decorate. To make cheesecake and pies. I'll carve them too. I'll also use the seeds and cook them. They are really good to eat when they are roasted." She shrugged some. There was a lot one could do with pumpkins. She was going to obviously just have ones that rotted because she wanted them for decoration. But she would carve some of them. She would use the guts and pulp to make pies and cheesecake. She would use the seeds too. Maybe she would plant one or two seeds. That would be fun. To grow her own pumpkins.

Maddison walked along. They were getting close to her house. She always felt like someone was watching her too. It was strange. Maybe there really were people watching them. The city knew vampires existed now. "Well. Im sorry you feel that way. I feel that way too. But I usually just let it go and try not to think about it when I'm out and about. It's no way to live."

"Cheesecakes and pies and seeds, oh my!" Emerson let out a small laugh. "Sounds like you'll have your hands full. Y'save a piece or two for me, or do you think Robin will eat it all?" She cracked a smile at the blonde. Although the stereotype was that men had the biggest appetites, Emerson could beg to differ. She was still working on it, but it wouldn't be long until she would be keeping down "normal" sized meals, and then the meals she herself considered to be "normal" sized. Despite her height and small frame, Emerson could eat like a horse. It probably had something to do with the fact that she was a growing girl - at only eighteen, she was considered an adult, but not quite yet a woman. Now that she had the whole vampire immortality situation going on, becoming a woman was at finger's reach. Would she stretch out to grab onto the opportunity? In the moment, she didn't see herself doing so. Young on the inside, young on the outside.

The smaller brunette let out a sigh. "I know. I just can't help but think about it a lot. I mean..." She shrugged her shoulders, toeing at a split in the sidewalk. In her standoff times spent out in public, Emerson was able to pick up on bits and pieces of various conversations and strung them together how she saw fit. People of Harper Rock - the humans, more specifically - were recognizing the vampires. They knew of their existence. Having only been turned a few months ago, Emerson felt a bit late to the party. She hadn't even known of vampires anywhere aside from fiction, and until she became one. Some of the humans were skeptical, and some of them were driven by fear. It made sense. Who wouldn't be afraid of someone with super abilities and who needed to snack on your blood to survive? "With everything going on lately, something bad could happen. But something good could happen, too. Maybe my family is looking for me. Or my friends. M'not sure how far away I am from home, but I'd like to hope that wouldn't stop them from at least trying to find me." She worded it that way, at least, because she figured once being found, things could change. Emerson knew Harper Rock was not her first home, but it had grown to become a new one. She wouldn't want to leave, especially not when she had a job and met so many new people.

It wasn't long before the pair arrived at Maddison's place. Emerson couldn't tell if the lights were on, but the blonde woman had made it sound as if Robin was already home. She walked Maddison to her door, and stopped in front of it. "Thanks for meeting with me. It was good to catch up." Remembering their last interaction, she went in to give the taller woman a hug and pulled away with a small smile. "Say hi to Robin for me, yeah? I'll see you two soon." When she was sure Maddison was safely inside, Emerson started to leave. She paused, however, patting down her pockets for something that wasn't there. Her phone. The new one she had bought, just for work, and the one she had lacked to mention. Aside from email, which Emerson could only access from the cafe computers, she had no way to communicate with Maddison. The phone must have slipped out of her pocket and onto the booth in the cafe, but it didn't come to her as much of a surprise. With a small shake of her head, the girl headed back where she had come from to retrieve the pesky little device, hoping that it was, in fact, still there.
