Shizuka’s words did bring a bit of comfort to her, she wasn’t alone. Hell, even in the Den, a place she hardly left, there were always others there. Be they thralls or parts of her family, they were there. Granted, off in their own world, but she could hardly grudge them for that, she often did the same thing. She often fell into times when she stared off at the computer screen, endlessly hacking, building and writing scripts. Then there were days when she spent hours and hours improving weapon parts to try to build better guns. Spent hours at the crafting bench or with her own little crafting set sitting in her lap as she worked on traps and gizmos for sneaking around warehouses and factories, office buildings and other sorts of places with lots of loot.

Bringing herself back to what Shizuka was talking about, she once again agreed with the woman, perhaps it had just been a matter of timing or that they had thought one thing and found it to be something totally different. She sighed a little. It was probably more the latter than the former, but one would never know. The girl spoke of someone she had sired, a girl as well, someone who had been innocent and she wondered if the girl had been just that, a girl or if she had just been innocent, no matter age, one could always be innocent. It came down to something as simple as the household one was raised in.

Her chocolate eyes shifted to look to Shizuka once more, especially as she spoke of how she had just been dealt a bad hand. Perhaps that was it, just a bit of bad luck. But was that true? She didn’t know, and she had to wonder if Zo had seen this coming in her cards. Perhaps she would find out one night. Go and visit her old friend.

Shizuka spoke again, this time pulling Charlie out of her thoughts, this time, instead of just thoughts of her own about what the story was, she was asking Charlie about those that she chose to mentor. She smiled a bit to the girl and gave a bit of a shrug, “I will mentor anyone I come across if they want to be mentored. I never wish for a vampire to be introduced to the problems I was so early on. I never want them to feel alone or abandoned. But again, that is only if they want it.” She left out the fact that she had also taken to mentoring humans as well, at least when it came to things like thievery and crafting. “I love to mentor others. It brings me joy and makes me feel useful.”
Reality is a thing of the past!
