Run, Rabbit, Run [Open Thread]

Post by Nishaa »

tap, tap, tap

The Necromancer was making her way through the contents of her backpack curiously. The sound of droplets of water hitting the sink basin in her small bathroom filled her eardrums but she ignored it easily. She was looking for certain items she could sell to earn a little of money from. She wanted to buy Marjani something nice. Nothing -too- nice but enough to let her know that she appreciates everything the woman does for her. Nishaa wasn't the most easiest person to live with, to be friends with - or even love. Nishaa had a lot of problems, mentally.

Within her back she had a few faeshards, a fair few stones she had collected from the caverns she liked to pick up the gems and stuff them away in her backpack because they were pretty. Once upon a time Nishaa had given Marjani an emerald she had found down there and she had appreciated it - she still had the stone now, she had seen it a few times. She assumed though that the woman liked to keep it hidden away to keep it safe. Safe from thieves like Nishaa.

”I guess I could sell these.” The woman held a fistful of gems in the palm of her hand, she could get a few $1000 for these, easily. A mixture of green, red and purple stones. Shining under the bathroom light.

Pocketing the gems in her cargo trousers she adjusted her pink ‘my little pony’ tee and made her way to the fadeportal that would lead her outside to Honeymead Station. A few seconds passed as her whole body left through the shimmering wall and her feet touched the concrete of the pavement belonging to the station.

A sigh escaped her lips as she felt for her thigh - making sure she had her trusty kitchen knife safely tucked away to avoid drawing the attention of humans. It would also be needed to defend herself if anyone decided they wanted to come at her - which wasn’t unheard of. People had tried to kill her whilst she rested in the Library one evening. They had failed obviously - but she had always been extra careful since the attack.

Making her way south, she needed to get to Coastside. The shopkeeper there always gave her a good deal when she sold him ****.

The fledgling was wandering the streets, exploring the city... at least, that was how this had started. Now, though, she was frantically trying to retrace her steps -- this was hard to do when Nesa never paid attention to where she had gone and where she was going.

Why should she? She had her tome, always. Except when she reached into the slit bear, she did not find the tome -- and this almost made her scream. She had tossed her jacket aside to search her pockets, frantic by this point. That tome was how she got home -- it was how she went about her exploring in such a carefree manner.

She whimpered softly as she sank against an alley wall -- she was completely lost, and that was not a good thing. She tilted her head back, roughly. She sighed and buried her face against her exposed arms -- the raised scars were rough against her cheek, though she ignored this.

The bear, Uflu, with its stuffing taken out and it's back wide-open, the place where her tome usually stayed... Her cell phone lit up and vibrated from within the teddy bear, but Nesa ignored it and whispered frantically against her arms, "What do I do, Uflu?"

"No! I don't know where I went today!" She was scared -- and if she was not so childish and out of it, the fledgling would have just texted her sire -- or even Jupiter to come help her... but she was not mature, she was not right in the head. So that was not an option.

What was an option, was to sit on the slimy ground and have an anxiety attack; to shout obscenities at the stuffed toy that had proven itself to be a safe-haven for her things, but now had lost her trust.

By the point she shouted, "You're an ***, Uflu!", she was jerking at her hair quite roughly, blonde locks wrapped firmly around thin fingers. "You lost it! I need it! Tell me where you lost it at?!" She most likely sounded like a mental patient to anyone who passed her by, sniffling quietly she flings the bear as far as she can -- across the alley and into a rather deep puddle of God-knows-what.

"No! Because if I can't get home, neither can you, you jerk!" She is much quieter now, her fingers dragging through her hair at a much... faster pace. She needed to calm down. Soon she is rocking back and forth, her arms around her knees. This seems to help her calm, though it is helping her very slowly.

The walk to Coastside wouldn’t take her long. She knew the way by heart. She often made her way down this part of town. Human’s walked past her, they often cast a glance in her general direction. Her whole being was always so off putting to humans, they often looked at her with disgust. Not that she minded or cared. They didn’t know her. They didn’t know a damn thing about her - or the fact that she grew up in an asylum. A sicker left the woman’s lips as a dog barked at a child, and the child hid behind his rather young looking mother. Cowards.

The sound of whimpering caught Nishaa’s ear as she turned her whole body into the direction of the sound, a nearby alleyway. She edged closer to it. Her hand went to her thigh - ready to draw her weapon if needed to, onyx hues caught the sight a woman. She was crying, and talking to a stuffed teddy bear.

C R A Z Y

Nishaa blinked at the woman, shaking her head. ”Get up.” She told her. ”I don’t know who the **** you are, but sitting on a muddy ******* floor, crying to a teddy bear, is just crazy.” Nishaa was the only crazy in this village! She huffed a little and grabbed the woman by the arm and pulled her off the floor - ignoring the fact that she had previously been rocking. She looked young, childlike even. Nishaa wasn’t someone who cared about people or things, but it hit a chord in her unbeating heart.

”You smell familiar.” There it was, the woman smelt like family. Not that she would openly ask her who her sire was. She looked down at the bear in her hands and took it from her, and inspected it. ”Is this bear magical?”

Someone was speaking -- harsh, harsh, very harsh! She did not like it. Not at all. She shakes her head hard, whimpering. Nesa was happy where she was. Eventually she would have got up and texted her sire to help her -- or even Jupiter. When she was jerked to her feet, she stumbled forward with a... well, for lack of a better word, she hissed.

The blonde would reach to snatch the bear from the stranger, and should she successfully get her bear back from the strange woman, she would press against the wall again and hiss softly against the raggedy, blood-stained toy. "You were s'posed to keep it safe, Uflu! How do I get home now?"

She glances from the bear, to stare at the stranger, before muttering softly. "She smells like family don't mean she is family." She eyes the strange woman, her fingers slipping into the slit in the back of the bear to claim the knife she kept in there. She'd slide her fingers against the blade as she pulled it out, shaking her head.

"He ain't magic. Least, I don't think so. He keeps stuff safe for me." She slips the knife back into the bear after checking it -- her fingers fumbling around to count bullets. Had she lost anything else? Her phone buzzes again and she huffs, glancing at the text.

Jupiter, asking where she was. She was late for their usual hang-out at the hotel. She grumbled something under her breath, before she holds out a hand, murmuring, "Nesa."

"This is Uflu."

Whilst Nishaa was admiring the bear in front of her. She wasn’t quite sure why this woman was so obsessed with a teddy bear, her onyx hues peered around the bear to look at the blonde woman, how young and childlike she seemed in a woman’s body. The familiar feeling still lingered around her, the scent of Andras blood in her veins was apparent. It was quite potent, meaning she could have been perhaps a second generation underneath Micah. Nishaa didn’t know for certain - she usually never trusted these kind of gut instincts when it came to family. With an eyebrow raised she took a step forward, and the bear was snatched away from her grasp.

Nishaa gave off a snort. She wasn’t all that alert, her guard was down it was how she had managed to snatch the bear from her. It wasn’t a big deal. Dark irises looked over towards the woman who was now leant against the wall talking to the bear about how she should be getting home. ”Where do you live?” Nishaa found herself asking. She didn’t even want to say it - she had been thinking it really, but then it had found itself rolling off her tongue in speech. She silently cursed at herself.

Hands crossed over her chest. ”Cool, well if you aren't family then….” She turned around to begin to walk away, leave the childlike woman and her teddy bear by themselves she would ignore the gut feeling in her stomach that told her that this woman here, was family.

Nishaa stops then, and turns around just as Nesa introduces herself. Nishaa looks at the hand outstretched towards her and hesitantly takes it. She wasn’t the most social of people when it came to new people. ”Nishaa.” She said. ”Nishaa Andras.” There. They knew each other’s names. Only then did she introduce her bear to her. She had to fight the urge to roll her eyes.

Nesa studied the stranger -- "I stay.." Well, most of the time she slept in the hotel -- "..at my sire's hotel." She rolls her shoulder as she studies the woman. Then, she was walking away. Aqua hues narrow slightly and she frowned, fingers tugging insistently at the bears fur.

"Nishaa." She peered quietly toward the other female. "Andras!" She bobbed her head. That was the name she knew -- Andras. "Andras too." She points to herself, shaking Uflu absently. Then, it was back to the topic at hand. Uflu had lost something important.

"Uflu lost it," she mumbles, shaking the bear. "Tome. Home-wards. Can't go back." She's hugging the bear to her chest as she stares upwards. "Late for date, important date." She was mumbling words -- almost like quoting Alice in Wonderland -- just not all the way.

She said she mostly stayed at her sires hotel, which wasn’t odd. Not for her. Her grandsire owned a hotel. Pandemonium. Yes. Giving this woman another eyeball as she canted her head slowly to the left - raven hair dropping onto her shoulders as she thought about who this woman was. Nesa. Yes. Micah’s childe. She had to be. ”You are Micah’s” The comment wasn’t posed as a question, it was a statement. It was as if the necromancer had put all the pieces together into one big pile and had come up with the answer.

Andras. Andras. Andras.

The woman was happy, she had repeated Nishaa’s name, and then her surname. Andras. Nesa knew of the last name, could have been a coincidence and then she pointed at herself - her fingertip pointing at her chest and told Nishaa that she too was Andras, so that had confirmed that this woman was family. Her gut instincts at been correct, like they usually were.

”Don’t blame the bear.” She told the woman. ”The bear isn’t alive -YOU- lost the tome.” God, Micah was going to kill Nesa if she didn’t find the tome. If anyone found it, they could read the words and find themselves within the Andras compound - and that could be bad news for the family. Such a bad thing. Nesa was an idiot.

Nishaa paced silently. Fingers lifted to her face where she dragged her nails down from her temple to her chin out of frustration. She would HAVE to help this childlike Andras girl find her tome, otherwise Micah could possibly blame Nishaa for just leaving it alone. She hated to let down gramps.

After a grunt, then a sigh. A pretty huge sigh.

”Come on, Idiot. Let's retrace your steps, Micah is going to kill you - even me, if you don't find it.” Nesa was so childlike, that Nishaa found herself outstretching her hand for the woman to take. She would lead the girl around her steps - looking for the god damn tome, she had lost.

As the other woman states that Uflu is not alive, the telepath seems to lose it. She shakes her head roughly and mumbles quietly, "He's 'live, he's 'live, he says you should be nice." She glares at the other vampire -- though when Nishaa offers her hand to her, Nesa takes it eagerly.

She'd get her tome back and make it home in time to hang out with Jupiter! She hopped along after the woman, dragging the bear with her. "Uflu says we went that way," she points down a street. "And then a right." She chirps the words, before falling quiet.

She didn't want to be around this lady; even Jupiter did not insult Uflu because it upset the childish woman. She was upset, but she needed her tome before she could try to prove to the other that the bear lived.

Nishaa found herself laughing. The woman was telling her that the bear was telling Nishaa to be nice. The Necromancer shook her head, stopping herself from laughing even more. She couldn’t laugh in the face of this woman. Not when Micah could find her - and the childlike vampire with Pestilence. ”Of course he did.” She found herself saying with a roll of her eyes. ”Until I hear it talking. I don’t believe it’s alive.” She peered at the woman with her onyx hues. ”You can carry on believing it’s alive though. I don’t care.” She shrugged her shoulders and led the woman away from the alleyway.

Nesa gave her directions in which they went - of course the directions came from the bear. Nishaa bit down HARD on her lower lip with the tip of her fang - she drew blood, tasting it on the tip of her tongue but she ignored it. She wasn’t going to say anything instead she just followed the instructions willingly. She moved in the directions she was given - taking a right - then another left, then another right which led them to a park.

She looked at Nesa with her dark orbs. ”Do you or the bear, remember this park?” She asked her curiously as she led her further into the darkness of the park. There was nothing frightening in the dark for the vampires - they were the monsters that should be feared in the dark.
