Re: The L Word (Invite)
Boundaries?
Yes.
What boundaries?
She told you she wasn't into dating right now. Remember?
Oh.
So I think that means no kissing.
But...
No but Lorelai. Give the woman a few days peace at least.
Okay.
The internal dialogue happened as Pru apologised for the state of her t-shirt and all Lorelai could do was shake her head by way of reply, as she didn't mind, she didn't mind at all. The conversation swiftly moved on but the blonde really didn't understand what to make of those words. Propriety? Whoring? Just what did Mordechai think Pru was doing to her. Did he know...? Could he know the affect Pru had on her?
No. He doesn't know. No-one knows but us and we aren't telling now are we Lorelai.
No. I know. But...
But nothing. No. Pru hasn't even figured it out yet and you see her all the time.
Okay. If you're sure.
The petite, blonde nodded to herself and watched as the huge, hulk of a man walked into the room. She wanted to be at Pru's side but somewhere along the line she'd distracted herself and didn't realise that Pru had moved quite so far away.
Mordechai towered over Lorelai and she didn't even have a moment to greet him before he was babbling about god only knew what. When he pulled up her t-shirt, she tried to move away. Most women might have slapped at his hand but Lorelai just wasn't wired that way. Though as she tried to back up, she found herself pressed up against the table. She looked scared as she had no idea what was going on, why this man was so close to her or what he was doing.
Why did he touch me?
I don't know.
Do you think...?
No. I don't think so. Though... Maybe...
Oh my stars.
Lorelai hung her head unable to look up as she didn't know where to look. Did Pru feel as intimidated by her as she did by Mordechai in that moment? It was a strange feeling and not one she experienced often; in fact the last time she'd experienced this kind of emotion had been the night she died.
Then things changed. Mordechai started giving her things and while she took them, as she seemingly didn't have a choice in the matter, she quickly put them to one side and the moment Mordechai moved and freed her path to her sire, Lorelai ran over to Prudence, hiding herself behind the woman as best she could. She tried to take a hold of Pru's hand, something that would allow the red head to fully appreciate how Lorelai felt (if she didn't know already from her behaviour) as she would have been able to feel her trembling, even if it was only ever so slightly.
His questions had gone unanswered, his gifts unthanked and that wasn't like Lorelai, as she was usually overly polite. The woman was, for want of a better description, a doormat; she was naive, easy to manipulate and longed to please the people she loved.

Re: The L Word (Invite)
"Mordie, what the ****?" Prudence growled at her friend as he lifted the shirt she gave Lori and started listening to him go on about something she had asked him around Christmas time. "Ya can't go and do that. She doesn't understand. She ain't like you and me, where that don't mean nothing." Prudence stepped in front of a trembling Lori as her arms crossed at her chest and Prudence took an offensive stance. As if safe guarding Lori from Mordie, which was completely insane as Prudence knew he wouldn't do anything to her mini's. Well, those that didn't do anything to him.
"I think ya coulda just sent me a picture without making Lori a display case or something." She laughed a little before turning slightly to give Lori a hug. The hug was short lived, mostly one of reassurance to Lori before she extended a hand to Mordie as she began to talk and try to explain the situation. Or at least his actions. "He didn't mean anything by it. Ya just happen to be wearing the right thing at the wrong time. Or wrong thing at the right time. He's happily-something." She then scratched her cheek thinking the best way to phrase it. "Committed. Anyways, can ya tell Mordie I ain't making ya whore around or anything?" Prudence waved at the shirt she gave Lori as she looked at Mordie. "If I was, would I be covering up her goods?"

Re: The L Word (Invite)
The killer paused in his words, a slightly confused expression finding home upon his countenance. Lorelai had said nothing as he handed her the items she had asked for, and then she had run and ... hid? Yes, hid, behind Prudence. The blonde telepath was speechless and shaking, holding onto Pru's arm, and, hiding. Mordechai glanced down, his leathers were buttoned, so his eyes rose once more, wondering what it could have been that had scared her. Now, to add to it, his red headed friend was all puffed up like Zena, and growling at him. Rising from his seat he glanced around. The door was still shut, and there was no one else in the room. Turning back towards Pru he listened as she said that Lorelai wasnt like them. He knew she looked human still, but the way she acted, and Pru acted, had led him to believe she was a childe, not a thrall. "She is not like us? Then why do you include her in so much if she is not 'like us'... do you know the exposure risk we take with all that she has seen? I thought she was your childe." He never raised his voice, just querying in his normal low pitched gravely voice. It made no sense to him. Every time he had met the woman before she had been smiling, and sometimes even waved. Now she trembled and shook, and as far as he could see, there was nothing in the room to fear. No smiles, no waves, no acknowledgement at all, other than terror filled eyes.
Quietly he settled back into the chair as he listened to Pru trying to calm the woman. He had no idea why Pru had said most of what she had to him, all he had done was point out that Lorelai was wearing the style Pry should, for riding her Hyabusa. As her final words came out, he shook his head, "No, she is so scared she will say whatever you tell her too. Not what she thinks. I still do not understand though." The seven foot killer tried to make himself seem smaller, and friendlier, but he was sure how good a job he was doing as he scrunched down in the chair. "Mz Lorelai? What is wrong?" His voice sound soft to his ears, unknowing that other than a slight volume change, it seemed the same to the others. "Do you need help? What has frightened you so?" Quietly, and with characteristic patience the killer waited for her response.

Re: The L Word (Invite)
The hug, of course, made Lorelai smile; it was impossible not to be happy when her sire had her arms around her, even if the contact was brief. That kind of attention was like being given a gift from the gods themselves, only better, to Lorelai it was like standing on a beach and being bathed in sunlight as cool, gentle waves lap at your feet. (Not that the blonde had ever experienced that). As she was unable to hold Prudence's hand, due to the stance she'd taken, she settled instead for resting her dainty hand on Pru's shoulder for support.
Prudence's request had Lorelai shaking her head, not because she wasn't going to answer but because the idea of Prudence whoring her out was ridiculous, she'd never do such a thing. The request being more of a demand having come from the Lorelai's little red star. Even if Prudence was whoring her out, the request had been worded in such a way that Lorelai would have been unable to say as such, what with being bid to deny the fact. She opened her mouth to speak, only to be silenced as Mordechai began to talk. She wasn't the sort to talk over another person, that wasn't polite, so instead she waited and listened as the giant seemed to verbalise his thoughts.
"You," she began, her voice little more than a whisper. "I'm a little afraid of you."
And she was. The man towered over her and she had not been prepared to see him. She had met him several times and yet still didn't think she knew him all that well. Having watched him torture a woman in the most horrific manner, she was unsure even as to why Prudence would sully herself by keeping his company. Not that Lorelai generally judged people. She was usually all too accepting of people and their faults but that night in the bar had coloured her opinion of the man.
"I don't know you well enough for you to touch me like that," she told him by way of explanation. "I have only just woken up and was unprepared to be accosted by someone in such a manner. And I am Pru's childe. She's my sire and she's a wonderful sire. I love her. She'd never sell me in that way. She closed this room for me. I told her last night that I wake here every night and that strangers stare at me, and so she said she'd close the room for me, for when I arrive. She's wonderfully considerate like that."
The more she spoke, the more the trembling lessened until, finally, she seemed to practically glow as she spoke about how wonderful Prudence was. Gushing about Pru came all too easily to Lorelai and just talking about her seemed to calm the blonde down and fill her with positive emotions that strengthened her soul. The affection she had for the red head showed even in her eyes as she took on that love-struck look people get when talking about their idols and/or the ones they loved.

Re: The L Word (Invite)
"Woah, I don't think I'm all those things." Prudence assured Lori with a laugh and a shake of her head. Honestly, Prudence only did it because she would lose her **** if someone did anything to her mini while she was sleeping back here. And that wouldn't be a good thing. Prudence was oddly protective over her mini's to an unhealthy extreme, but had failed to recognize it or think it was unhealthy. If anyone said anything about her mini's that she didn't like, the woman was on them in an instant. Much like her animalisitc form. She struck fast, and violently. Even if she knew that the sun didn't shine out of their asses and she knew they were doing stupid stuff. "I mean that's really nice of ya and all, but I was just worried about killing at least half my clients in one night." A hand went to her cheek as Prudence scratched it and looked at Mordie. The idea of anyone being afraid of him, unless they provoked him made her laugh. Sure, he was really tall and gigantic in size, but Prudence knew Mordie. Probably as much as he knew her. The real her.
"And he's not scary. Or he wouldn't hurt ya. Not without a darn good reason." Prudence tried to assure Lori. "Honest. He just didn't understand what I was saying. Cause I didn't want to spill your secret." Even though she had in the end, but Prudence knew Mordie wouldn't dob her in. "He's my best friend and you're one of my mini's. He wouldn't do that to ya. Try and give him a second chance? He's real nice." Prudence put a hand on Lori's shoulder to reassure her. "Please?" She asked Lori before she removed her hand and stepped back from the woman. "Now, can we be friends? All of us? Cause it's really important to me. I love the both of ya and ya both mean a lot to me for different reasons. He didn't mean anything by it and in some weird way because you're important to me, you're important to him too. Which was why he kinda wigged out, even if it was so really, really wrong." Prudence crossed her arms and looked between the two of them. "Can we start over with the night?" Prudence didn't particularly grovel or plead, ever, but the idea of Mordie and another one of her mini's not being on the right foot, really bothered her, especially over a really small misunderstanding that was probably her fault.

Re: The L Word (Invite)
A puzzled look crossed his face as Mordechai sat quietly, listening to Lorelai's explanation. Accosted. The killer replayed the scene in his head trying to view it from the diminutive telepaths view. Basically all he had done was suggest that Pru should consider the same style of panties as the ones that Lorelai wore. They had been mostly exposed beneath the small tee shirt that she wore when he entered. He had barely paid any attention to her, just showing the waistline to Pru. His only real interaction had been to offer her some zombie ears and syringes for her rituals. Marie had found them while waltzing about in the heels he had gotten her. Mordechai gently shook his head, he had not touched her inappropriately. She was already showing off almost everything, he had just pointed one aspect out to Pru.
Shrugging he continued to listen as she sang Pru's praises, almost as if Pru was a goddess or something. There was obviously something a little off with the girl, and with her relationship with Pru. She seemed to glow whenever they were together, and he had caught her sniffing Pru once, with a blissful look on her face. Suddenly a smile broke out on Mordechai's face as all the pieces fell into place. Pru had finally decided to bat for the other team, and Lorelai was the lucky girl. Pru broke in as Lorelai finished, explaining that the killer had meant no harm, and reintroducing them sort of as she told of their friendship. Mordechai's smile grew bigger as the red haired killer asked that they all get along, and he unconsciously nodded in agreement. If Pru had finally found a partner that made her happy, he would do nothing to interfere. The massive killer stood and reached out taking Pru in his arms and gently kissing the top of her head. "I am so glad you finally found someone to make you happy." He whispered into her hair before turning to the small telepath behind her. "The standard 'big brother' speech for you. I am glad that she has found you and wish you both the best of luck, but if you ever harm her, or hurt her, I will hunt you down and dismember you piece by piece" His smile lessened the severity of the threat, but he meant every word of it. Reaching out a free hand he placed it on Lorelai's shoulder, "You will have my protection and assistance as if you were my own kennedy."

Re: The L Word (Invite)
Lorelai blushed as Pru corrected her, her hands now at her side. She wouldn't or perhaps couldn't contradict the woman and so she simply nodded as Pru tried to dismiss the kindnesses she'd paid her childe. As the red head began to tell her that Mordechai was her friend and that she wanted her to make an effort, Lorelai's confidence began to fade once more.
It wasn't an order.
I know. It didn't sound that way to me either. But... it did sound like a strong suggestion.
So?
So it means he's important to her.
But he's a killer.
Aren't they all?
You know what I mean. He tortured that woman.
I know. I haven't forgotten.
The blonde let her eyes rest on the overly large man as she argued with herself as to what to do. She wanted to make Pru happy, wanted to please her and so in the end she really didn't have a choice. As much as she still disliked the man, which was a strong statement for Lorelai, she could be civil and so long as Pru was at her side, she reasoned that she had little to fear from him. Slowly she nodded. If Pru wanted them to start the night over, they could definitely do that.
Mordechai nodded too. Neither had voiced their willingness to start over, probably as they were both reluctant to do so, but it seemed Pru's word was good enough reason for them both to try.
He moved, and Lorelai watched him. As he embraced Pru, her brow furrowed slightly, as she didn't like seeing Pru in his overly large arms. She didn't hear what he said to her sire, probably because her min d was so preoccupied but when he focused on her, she heard him well enough. His words frightened her and while his touch and promise to protect her were probably supposed to help build bridges, he had prefaced it with words of violence.
Lorelai pulled away from him, pushing herself up against the nearest wall, her eyes begging Pru to protect her, her small frame trembling once more. The male wanted to dismember her and while she didn't fear death, she didn't relish the pain he would cause her as she had already witnessed first had what he was capable of.
"I'd never hurt Prudence," she squeaked out. "I... I'm not even capable of doing that."

Re: The L Word (Invite)
She had been smiling, but the smile vanished when Mordie had misinterpreted Prudence's words. Her lips twisted in to a frown and the redhead shook her head no and laughed. "Uhhh, no. It's not like that, Mordie." Prudence rolled her eyes, and then let her smile reappear. "She's my mini, so she's important to me and you're important to me, cause you're my best friend. Which is why I want ya two to be friends." She looked over to Lori who had claimed she would never hurt Prudence. Part of her wanted to believe her, but the other part knew that people hurt the other without meaning to, and so, it was bound to happen. As long as it wasn't intentional, Prudence would always forgive the timid blond.
She realized Lori hadn't agreed to being Mordie's friend. Not vocally at least. A nod was good enough, even if it might be begrudgingly. Time would tell. But she knew Mordie would keep his word and protect her like his own and that meant that at some point, they would be friends. Regardless of Lori trying to stay out of trouble, sometimes trouble just happened to come knocking on your door. And when it did, her and Mordie would be there for her.
"Good." She said before moving to give Lori a hug and then giving Mordie some affection by giving him a pat on the arm with her right hand. "Well, I've got to start opening the bar, and Lori needs some better clothes on than that. I got some clothes in my office. They might be a little big, but should fit ya til ya get home to change. Maybe bring some clothes to keep here in my office? I can set ya up with a nice drawer that's yer own in there. I got space now." Since Cliff's **** had been boxed up and was sitting on the floor in her office. Only because she hadn't had the time (or nerve) to go bring it to what used to be their trailer.

Re: The L Word (Invite)
Mordechai shook his head as Lorelai again cowered against the wall. He had heard that telepaths were often driven crazy, and it sure looked like that particular defect had been handed out in a double portion to Lorelai. In the words of Stephen the mad Irishman, she "wasn't right, in the head". Mordechai backed away from her, sitting in the chair once more in a vain attempt to be less threatening, at least he wasn't towering over her.
Pru made a request, that he would honor as long as Lorelai did not start tread down the path taken by Pru's first spawn. He doubted they would be friends, but they could at least not be enemies. His eyes flicked between the two, as always, he was observing and cataloging. Pru might not think there was anything going on, but he was pretty sure there was some serious attraction going on from Lorelai's side of the equation. More than once he had caught her staring at Pru with a sort of longing in her eyes, and she seemed to get uptight when separated from her, when someone else gave her attention.
"I will take your word for it Pru, and I have already given my word. If there is anymore I can do to help, let me know"

Re: The L Word (Invite)
Pru's hug calmed her a little. Well it distracted her at least. And when Prudence started telling her that she could have a drawer in her office, Lorelai just smiled and nodded. If Prudence was going to be so nice to her, she was going to have to do something to help around the bar, it really was that simple. She cast her eyes about the place and was quick to recall the sticky nature of the table she always awoke on. Cleaning. Cleaning the bar could be her way of saying thank you. If the doors were locked and the place closed to the public, then she was sure she could spend a few minutes tidying the place up. Granted, that table would be sticky once more when she awoke on it the next night, but she could at least contribute to the customer’s experience. It would also perhaps help to sell the story as to why the room was closed for a brief time each and every night.
"I can go home Prudence. I don't require any more of your clothing." She looked down at the t-shirt she had on and smiled. "But thank you for the offer. I shall bring some things by later if that's acceptable to you? Will you... still be here?"
The blonde was obviously hoping the answer would be yes and her eyes flicked between Prudence and Mordechai; if she was lucky, the big man might be gone and she'd get to spend some more time with her sire alone. While being in Prudence's presence was more than enough for Lorelai, she couldn't help but hope for more. It was selfish to want the woman alone, but then she was only human; unlike the goddess she had her eye on.
