She who is not to be named came across with the cash for the identities that I happened upon. The cash made it easier to liberate certain ‘tools’ she demanded.
Going to play it cool. One day she will go too far, and will have info on her like she has on me, and then she will be the one dancing to my tune.
Experiment d-03 died. Disposed of the remains in the usual way.
Experiment d-02 still lingers. have high hopes for this one. He seems stronger minded than the rest. It proves my point that the ‘hopeless & homeless’ make terrible subjects. will focus on runaways from now on.
12/18
Experiment d-02 succumbed. ********. Need a new subject.
12/26
Experiment d-04 procured. Healthy male subject of about 22 years. Full of determination, had to use 2 sets of restraints. Incision in left axilla, implant successful.
12/30
d-04 incision healing well. Out of haldol, have had to improvise. Alcohol and muzzle will suffice for now.
12/31
liberated haldol from psych patient Bowers. D-04 back on track for activation of implant.

d-04 unexpected reactions to implant. Left axilla swollen and hard. Implant feels as though it is being encased. performed biopsy.
1/7
Results from biopsy are back and are intriguing. Perhaps this the turn needed for progress.
1/8
d-04 seems to be gaining resistance to normal dose of haldol, very promising.
1/10
put d-04 down. left axilla and bicep full of oozing ulcers, body rejecting implant. It knew too much. disposal by incineration due to smell.

Re: Patient Files

Diagnosis of the implant from d-04. Implant was working properly. Why did the body reject? None of the other experiments showed such a reaction. sent tissue samples from autopsy out for tests.
1/14
tests are in. compared test results from results from biopsy. results from the biopsy did not show the cause of the encapsulation, new results show the encapsulation was due to allergic reaction. when encapsulation failed to contain the allergic reaction, the effects spread upward and outward. Removal of the implant would have been the only recourse for d-04 to recover. Destruction was necessary.
1/15
took another look at the implant. implant outer shell is latex. surmise that d-04 had severe allergy to latex. will have to look for new shell material.
1/18
medical grade silicone shell too costly. Will have to try industrial grade for the time being. supplier will have sample shells ready by feb. if drawings are submitted by 21st.
1/19
epiphany struck. the calibration error in older version implants were due to location of the sensors and the battery. Have revamped the circuitry and upgraded the sensors with higher output. redrafting shell. need newer version of solidworks. maybe will hit she who cannot be named up for some cash.
1/21
Sent preliminary drawings off to manufacture. On the hunt for j-01.
1/24
City is on high alert. bunch of cops are being killed. bet my friends are responsible. Idiots.. its hard enough getting suitable subjects without them causing panic in the streets.
1/26
j-01 and j-02 females between ages of 15 and 17. Well fed and nourished. Run aways. No one will miss them. j-01 is the brains. j-02 a follower. Will start on j-02 first, to bring j-01 into line.
1/27
cops came by asking about the females. told them I saw ‘a couple of females’ with male of about 30 getting into late model sedan. cannot be sure it is the ones they were looking for.

Manufacturing time line has been slowed. Really do not want to proceed until new unit arrives. Cops have been back a second time. Re-described two females unlike the missing. Cops think it is a case mistaken identity, apologized and left. j-01 is being difficult; had to induce coma to shut her up. j-02 catatonic.
2/3
revisited procedure w-t papers. idea forming, the procedure failed due to rejection. Both donor tissue and lab grown tissue failed to thrive due to rejection. But that as with a human subject. What if the subject were not human? Regeneration of their tissues happens, have witnessed it. What if that regeneration process was halted or redirected to accept the donor tissue? Would need a test subject.
2/12
recovering from broken ribs. Had a slight.. very slight run in with one of them. One thump from him and I have 4 broken ribs. will have to work about another way of capturing. Brute force will not be enough. Devices arrived, not up to surgery, cant move j092 with broken ribs.

The device is better than expected. The modification that were extra were worth the money.
2/17
Hired Jimmy the Nose to help trap one. He's cheap and dumb as a post. I will have to do a test run to make sure he understands his job.
2/20
Jimmy may not be bright, but he remembers well once he has done something once. The dry run went smoothly. Set up and broke down in three different parts of the city. By third set up, timing was cut in half.
2/23
The ribs are still bothersome, but have waited long enough, no moon, tonight we hunt.
2/24
Thought we had one. Turned out to be a human. Let him go, he was too likely to be missed. Mugged him to make it look good, shot him full of x as well. Too much commotion and the ribs hurt, called it a night.
2/28
Tried again. The bastards are fast and strong. It is clear if this is to be successful, we will need to target a weak or young one. Jimmy said we were in the wrong part of the city. Suggested we mark the city morgue area for our next attempt. He seems to think they frequent that area due to the QZ. Which, admittedly makes sense, but his reasoning was for more of an office nearby that he has noticed odd behavior around. worth checking out.
3/3
The nose is dead. The area of the QZ is a hotbed of activity. I have marked several that I know by sight now. Most of them are too self assured and strong. Our last attempt cost the nose his life. Didnt take his body. And it was gone an hour later. Will give it a week.. then will hunt again.
3/10
Cracked shoulder. Hypothesis was correct. Nose became one. Isnt one anymore now.

Re: Patient Files
3-12 Have advertised for an assistant, far too many gen X'ers that expect a retirement plan. Must rethink how to advertise.
3-13 Hate newspapers. Too costly, and crap responders.
3-14 Made a flier for an assistant. Will Post in the ghettos and crime ridden areas.
3-16 Fond a possible assistant, has passed first test. Have hopes this one will work out.
3-20 Until the shoulder heals more fully, have taken to exploring the dark recesses of the city. Need to find out how they get around the city, if am to be successful in a capture. Cannot trap in the open. too many eyes.
3-21 The sewers. Surprisingly well traveled in appearance. This must be their conduit about the city.
3-24 Found a labyrinth of tombs well under the city. Cannot remember how to get there.

Re: Patient Files
3 - 28 Found a forum where all manners of things are discussed, but re-occurring theme of vampires. Recognize some of the posters. But must be wary, cannot believe everything or anything.
4-2 Shoulder much improved. Assistant appears to be working out, but will reserve further judgement.
4-3 Have relocated the catacombs. Even uncovered a cache of old weapons. In and out without being spotted. Location safely stored in bank lock box.
4-4 The Lure of the catacombs is strong, returned. Found more weapons and a second level. The place is crawling with creatures of the dead. Emaciated bodies, at times nothing more than dried leather stretched over bones. Witnessed a battle, with one suspected, the undead and the dead, the undead fled. Formidable. Spied something, that cannot give name to. Multi-mouthed creature, looks to be a hybred experiment gone wrong, yet life flowed through it. Dissection is a must. Having swords inspected by historical society.
4-5 Body armor arrived. Another week or two, if assistant remains promising, the hunt will resume.
4-7 Historical society badgering about the cache of swords. They offered 80k for the one. Have donated the lesser quality to the society, to keep them at bay. Swords have been dated much older than ever suspected. May have opened a can of worms. Must get story clear.

Re: Patient Files
4-8 Having given the Assistant a job. He seems athletic enough.
4-9 Fact or Fiction forum is wealth of information. Quietly lurking, reading and watching. Things witnessed being validated. Nay sayers doth protest too much, over petty things. Like blood in the water to sharks.. say the word vampire in the forum, and the same ones rise again and again to ridicule and belittle. They do not see how transparent they appear. Expected better.
4-11 Experiment Ap03 failed. It is clear human subjects are not going to work. Need one of them.
4-12 Scoped out 3 locations for the hunt. Soon will put the assistant to the test.

Re: Patient Files
4-15
The assistant is quiet and mostly unobtrusive. Not one to bring attention to himself. This bodes well for his future. Have given him his first dissection.
4-19
The dissection was impressively done. Wonder if he has had medical training. His attention to detail of the smallest capillaries was masterfully executed. But his care and attention to the photographs, was lacking. Such diligence, coupled with carelessness. It does intrigue.
44-21
Decided to allow the Assistant to dissect the abomination. Wanted to do it myself, but with hope, there will be another later.
4-23
The shoulder is stronger than ever. Have taken to a more earnest workout with a trainer. I can tell a difference in my stamina and strength. I should have done this years ago. Keeping the body in fight form, will only enable the work that needs to be done.
4-28
Have set infrared motion sensitive security cameras in place. Due to location, could not hard wire for transmission. Will need to collect the sdcards in three days time.
Rescued 'damsel' in distress.
Though, said Damsel, had the unusual habit of biting people and drinking their blood. Managed to get a tissue sample. She also had a heartbeat, so she wasn't 'the walking dead'.
5-3
The results are back from the Damsel's tissue sample. Expected results were confirmed. She is human. However, the blood work shows high levels of unexpected substance as of yet not identified. Have not seen this compound before. The lab suspects contamination. Will send second sample and have it repeated.
5-4
Met the Broussard. Will have to watch this one closely. He has strong ties to crime.
5-7
Second set of results are back. Results showed the same chemical compound present. The lab had isolated it and said it has properties unseen before, that mimic a cell replication compound. Imperative I find the damsel; get another sample.
5-10
FML. Pulled into a **** storm not of my making. But I was able to collect plenty of samples.
