Re: Blue Separation [MM]
Mason was not one for trickery. She didn't try and maneuver her words or hide her intentions. Not as a human, and not as a vampire. As a human, when she became a paladin, her intentions were clear. Exterminate as many vampires as she could. Now those intentions were just...so muddy. Vampires weren't all bad. But at the same time, she couldn't stand by while some of them went wild. People like the Lionelli were unacceptable. And had to be kept down. Short of the Overlord, she hadn't had any problem taking most down individually. But how long would that work out? They'd just come back. She still never denied her intentions. She didn't enjoy violence, but she found it necessary. She took it seriously, but she'd grown callous to any pain of taking a vampires life. It wasn't a matter of what she wanted to do or not. It was a matter of decisions and morality.
But sometimes, you just need a break. Her blade was no longer painted red from a recent fight. She looked to find the bad ones. And she'd found another, and so, she killed them. They had to learn that if they were going to hurt needlessly, then they would get hurt in turn. After that, she came up here. The building was hardly the most stable. Not that she was afraid. But coming up it she'd found a great deal of water. And the walls in some of the lower areas felt like mush. Even up here, on the very roof of this building, she found that the water just seemed to sit. There were cement railings of sorts, preventing a person from falling off on accident. At least, within reason.
She could feel the wind, it was nice. Her mind was quiet right now. Just overlooking the city below as she leaned against it, she had Goldfinger with her to, her pistol. It had served her well for a long time. She was tired. Tired of living here. At times, she wanted to leave. She probably could if she chose. Who could stop her? She could teleport pretty much at will. And she mostly looked human. They wouldn't even know that she was gone. She could go somewhere far away. Live in the mountains or something. Where she couldn't hurt anyone. And yet, she felt herself drawn to stay. To help. Mason was a vampire, but she was still somewhat of a paladin at heart.
