as the subject says... it used to be that you could nom on them at as low as one energy. was it changed or is it buggy?

It was the manual battle code. It should be fixed now. Same with things like rabbits, rats, etc.

It doesn't cost 4 anima to feed, for me, but it won't let me feed on Spirits unless I have more than 4 anima.

don't you mean energy?

It won't allow me to 'eat' the spirit unless I have 4 energy. (although it doesn't take that energy when I do feed on the spirit)
