A birds tale

Post by Moria (DELETED 12458) »

Moria skittered about the forest a smile on her face, success success success! At least...so far, she could feel it already though. She was hopeful, though, naturally, there was a problem. The question one might be wondering, was why she was so particularly excited. And the answer was quite simple. Moria had conceived a child, and as a Harpy, the egg was forming fast as for a bird. This of course was only a part of the process. But doubtless by the next day or two, that egg was going to come out. And from there, then the waiting would begin.

The father? Jessy Horatio Perez, more simply, her thrall. It was perhaps expected that a child would be conceived sooner or later. But it's survival, was the true question. Things had only just begun. Jessy was already in the forest in the tree house further preparing things. She had to keep the egg somewhere didn't she?! It wasn't perfect sure, but it was a well made tree house and what was she going to say? She didn't make enough money to get one of them nice apartments or houses. Besides, out here they'd be away from prying eyes, and among the forest. Where they could be themselves. She was in fact in her true form at present as well, occasionally flapping her wings to help her move about but not feeling like flying outright as she was still a little too close for comfort of not being seen.

Course, she wasn't sure at all yet what she'd claim. She supposed she'd just call it Jessy's. It was easier that way, since its as the truth. However, she wasn't sure if her thrall would remain her only mate or not. But time would tell where things went. Just as it would if this egg was going to survive it's first trimester or not.

The Harpy hummed softly to herself as she laid around the egg, one of her blue and grey wings covering the egg. She had her eyes closed and was almost sleeping at this point. Her Thrall sat near the door, he wasn't actually going to be of much help against anything stronger then a zombie or an average human. But at the very least she'd know if something was coming.

So far all was going well, which helped explain the content smile on her face as she laid by the egg. She still had a long long time to wait, but at least it had started. She of course had to leave now and then from her egg to go out and try and actually live some of her life, they had too make sufficient profit after all. And her thrall could only do so much.

She let out a happy breath, as dangerous as life in Harper Rock might be. It had some positives too. For one, she felt for all the soldiers around, it was astonishingly easy to steal things. And that meant it was ever so much easier to make sure life for her and her child was going to be even better. She wasn't sure yet what it was of course, or what she'd name it. But she had time to work that out.
