Glade stared at the body a hand over his mouth looking around quickly. All he had come here to do was take a few things, some parts he needed to make something to sell or use. It wasn't even on purpose. It was just...in the moment, the guard tried to stop him by force after he failed to convince him it was just that he'd gotten lost, and he'd just managed to stab him.
"I'm so sorry." He muttered as he heard the guards walkie talkie come on asking what had made the gun go off. He felt his stomach contort, not from disgust he realized, and an immense pain in his stomach as suddenly he felt himself vomiting and a black substance poured fourth from his mouth. "Oh...crap." he said leaning against the wall putting a hand on the wound seeping the black blood of a shadow vampire.

He looked around quickly, he had to get out of here fast. He knew he could get out before the police arrived, as long as nothing crazy ended up happening along the way. Quickly he started stumbling towards the exit, avoiding any other guards that were here. Reminding himself, "It will heal." over and over as he went, and that if someone saw him with this, they'd have to know he was a vampire. Because there was no humans that bleed black blood that just hangs in the air before it goes away moments later. Of course, that part was slightly advantageous, at least it wouldn't stick around as evidence. But until he closed up the wound, that black spot was really going to be an issue.

((With permission from Glade I took over for the GoogleBot))

Some nights she walked home to take in, reflect, upon the night. Tonight was one of those nights where she pulled her coat around her tighter, pretending to be human since the cold didn’t bother her as much, and walk along the streets. It was a far track from The Metronome Club to Lascivious Legacy, she walked it once or twice a week. Sometimes Ginny would appear, and other times she was off on her own adventure. Tonight was one of those nights, no cats to be seen.

There had been a few shouts, a scream and a small group of what looked like would be rogue vampire hunters from the underground in training fleeing from the alleyway. She stood with her back against the wall perched on the opening, lighting a cigarette, to see who would emerge from the shadows of the alleyway. If it were vampire who had been around for longer periods of time the smell of blood would not hang so heavily in the air, they would have healed themselves. Or put on celerity, or any of the variety of things that made them so mystical, to either heal and chase after the culprits or heal and walk out the alley wiser for the next encounter.

Either way, this was a young one. She still smelt the blood in the air. Her stomach rumbled but she knew she didn’t want blood, she wanted actual food. Like blood she began to crave both. Her stomach grew to be able to hold the food, for extended periods of time. She did still need to purge the food, since her body didn’t break it down, didn’t pump blood. She exhaled the smoke from the cigarette listening to this one making their way down the alleyway. There had been a few of those pesky rogue vampires who claimed to be purifiers of the vampiric race. Because a mere human could not simply do it. So become what you hate to kill what you hate. Brilliance on their part. Even more so that they do not seem to learn the extent of their powers. Yet, they do grow eventually.

She wasn’t a fighter per say. There was plenty a lot stronger than she was, and yet, somehow she managed to hold her own. Well, she hasn’t visited the shadow realm in a good long while. In the past, it was mostly her own doing that she went into the shadow realm. Sometimes the nightmare in there hurt less than the reality out here. It was the best excuse she had.

Finally a head came from the shadows, lowered so she couldn’t see who it was. They hand their hand over their seeping stomach, where a gaping wound let blood pour down the front of them. The scent became more familiar. Dammit! It was her new offspring! Now she wanted to go hunt down those petty want to be rogue vampire hunters she seen popping about the city. “A tad bit of a scrap you have there.” She said as she exhaled more smoke from mouth and nose looking much like a dragon. “I can help ya some if you want.” Because of her being …. Upset…. Her accent was thicker than usual. A soft european accent. She never understood where it came from if she were from Canada, but that is what the I.D. had said. “Would you like some help now?” Oh and she fully intended to be finding those peon rogue vampires. This was after all her familia. She’d already kind of shirked off the normal vampire speeches, and all that. But it was time to spend a few moments with the lad since she had turned him, well since he survived the turning.

As Glade stumbled out, his eyes gazed over the Rogues rushing about. He really didn't know what they were about, just that they were trouble, and had been in the past. Usually it was escapable, at least, he hadn't died yet...exactly. The sensation of the blood dissipating on its own was...alarming, still. But he didn't exactly feel like dwelling it. His eyes narrowed through the pain as he saw a figure smoking, she spoke to him and it took a moment before he realized who it was. He paused for a moment even after she offered to help the first time. On the one hand, she was offering assistance he really could use. Of course, on the other end, first time they met she threw him out a high window which nearly killed him had he not turned before landing. He really wasn't sure how to feel about that. It hadn't really destroyed his life but it was one dark thing to do.

He just about collected himself enough to actually pay attention to what she was saying this time. Help, right, he needed that. He nodded stumbling forwards, "Please." he said grabbing onto anything he could with one hand while keeping the other over his stomach. He may not exactly feel like she was all that kind at the moment but if she was offering help he was willing to take it. The world was too strange to back out on the positives because of the past.

On the other hand, he really wanted to know what exactly "help" meant in this case, being thrown out a window didn't seem like help and he really wanted to be sure it didn't mean just killing him or something, ""Wait...how exactly can you help?" he asked frowning and clenching the wound tighter, his hand was practically all black from the blood at this point.

If he was expecting her to feel bad about feeding off of him, she didn’t. If he expected an apology for throwing him out a window, he would be waiting some time for that. But, he was one of hers now and the fact he lived through it made him strong enough, a quality in which she liked. Respected even. When he stumbled forward, she watched him reach out to the pole gripping it and staring at his bloody hand.

“First, let’s get you out of sight so no one sees you bleeding all over.” She looked around. “There is an abandoned warehouse over there. Let’s go inside.” She without thinking, and not caring for the blood he was spilling, lifted him in her arms like he weighted little to nothing and carried him to the building. While he was in her arms, she used Blood heal on him to him close the wound faster. While she carried him, her voice was soft and soothing. “Concentrate on healing. Picture in your mind the wound closing and the blood not pouring out so fast. Picture it and make it happen. Make your blood close the wound.” Seeing the black blood she instantly knew he was along the shadow path. There was no faster healing until he bridged over to another path, so he went the normal speed of a vampire. Instead of instantly healing, his wound would take a day but he could heal it into would that wasn’t gushing blood but scabbed over if he forced his body to listen to his mind, or at least that is how she did it when she meditated on things when the wounds were extreme. She didn’t bother to tell him she used a bloodheal on him.

After a few minutes, she set him back on his feet. “Now, out of public view. Check. You should be feeling better, so let’s focus on closing the wound. Think of it and make it happen. You will still feel slightly weakened. But it won’t be losing vital everywhere anymore.”

She pulled out her phone, “Becky, get Mindy and come to my location.” After a second pause she rolled her eyes, “I don’t know figure out where I am.”

She hung up with a huff before turning back to him. “I take it you understand what I did to you, yes? I am shocked you survived but this is good. Remember only the strong survive, so you are strong.” She tried to use her words to inspire him, and calm him into healing himself. She could only do so much, which was get him fed so he had the strength to heal. Getting him out of the public eye was the first step. The blood heal was the second one. Now, to get him to learn his own powers. And lastly, go hunt those bastards who did this to him. He would feel better once they paid for the mistake of being willy nilly in their fighting him by choice. Just because he was semi newly turned, did not mean that he was an easy target.

Glade was not exactly expecting to be lifted off his feet to be taken out of sight. It made sense to get out of sight but it was not a feeling he was used to, though, as he considered the fact she was a vampire, it made a little more sense such a casual show of strength was not a big deal. She mentioned concentrating on the wound to close it, well, that was a bit new but he figured she'd know better then he would so it was worth a shot. He shut his eyes, still grimacing from the pain, especially due to the sudden shift from standing to in someones arms. While he was focusing he could feel himself healing, though, he didn't quite realize this was actually due to the blood heal that had been used on him. He hadn't actually had all that many interactions with other vampires and, while he knew a good few things, they were still very personal related rather then things that were more quickly told then learned.

Eventually she set him back on his feet and he took care with where all the weight went so it didn't stretch at the hole, though perhaps it was closing. He used a wall to push against and sit down focusing on closing the wound trying to force it into happening. For him, the closing wound seemed to materialize from shadows back into place rather then grow due to his path, not only was it slower, but it was a great deal more telling if a human were to see it. Still, it was healing at least. He kept his hand pressed on it however, best to help the process move along. He heard her talking on the phone for a moment before addressing him.

Did he understand? Well, he understood well enough. She was a vampire, that's what she'd made him as she tossed him out the window. Though he was really not sure as to why that part was necessary. Only the strong survive? He was strong? He grinned a little bit shaking his head and chuckling, but using his throat more then his chest to do so.
"It didn't seem to help me much here did it?" he said looking at his stomach, "Well...I sort of understand. Got the vampire bit out of the way pretty soon, it was...a lot more seamless of a change of my life then I would have expected. But I still don't get why throwing me out of a window was necessary, I very nearly died."

He was taking careful breaths, and even though he was speaking, he was still trying to focus on the wound, he was also careful to keep his voice quiet though he was pretty sure nobody else was anywhere near enough yet, "Well, I guess seamless isn't a good word for that. I got into lifestyle pretty easy but man there are a ton of people after vampires that I really hadn't quite realized. Freaking vampires are after vampires!"

He was right in that aspect. It was useless. She still didn’t feel any guilt about it. Not like she should anyway. “Some people take their anger out in different ways. I do things a bit differently. You happened in the wrong time, wrong space? I was upset and fed. Not many survive that way of turning, but it does make for easier clean up after feeding. I fed on you, turned you and threw you out the window not thinking you would turn in a …” She searched for the right words, “State of depression.” And yet, remorse was not in her words. It was stated factually. “So yes only the strongest survive.”

She sat down beside him, “But since you are now turned, you are my childer. Which means I will do everything in my power to help you. That also means you have access to money should you need it, just ask. If you need a place to stay or even want your own apartment, again just ask. Weapons are at your disposal. Being a vampire in this town has its ups and downs. For one, you get very cool powers. For you, seeing the black blood, says shadow path like another of my childer who insists on calling me mom,” She contorted her face saying it was not really a name she liked but understood the need for grasping at straws to place human emotions on it, “You will be able to call the shadows to hide you, slip into and out of buildings easier, and… well slipping mere coins from pockets will be nothing for you in no time. You have much to learn. Eventually in time you will be able to learn traits from the other kin of our kind, telepathy and in my case, I can use my voice to calm people or stir them at will. Or make them like or dislike me.” There was a moment of pause before she sniffed the air almost like a dog. She slowly rose from beside him, more so just used it as a means to distract him while he healed up some.

She laid her jacket over his shoulders. “No matter what, do not move.” She said withdrawing her guns in a very unladylike fashion from under her skirt. How she managed to fit two golden glocks under the skirt was another question in itself but since she was just coming home from The Metronome Club, work clothes was what she had on. A skirt, corset, blazer with The Metronome Club logo on the blazer. She looked around when the two men appeared coming out of the darkness and stepping into the light.

“Well well well, what do we ‘ave ‘ere heh?” He said with a very rich accent. It wasn’t Canadian, more british but a dirty form of the language. “Pretty little girl with an ‘urt man. Shame heh?” When he smiled she seen the rotting teeth. He turned to his shorter, more plump accomplice.
The man just smiled and nodded like a good henchmen. Only the sense she got from him was he was more brawn than brain.

She sighed, “Look fellows, I would love to exchange blows and all, jest to our hearts content but I just got off work and found him hurt.” She waved the guns around as she spoke. “So if we could cut the small talk and just finish this, I would be ever so grateful..”

The men looked at each other then her. When she shut up they came running toward her acting menacing. Since she had just spent several hours on the floor waiting tables and serving drinks, not to mention keying in the orders for the next week and infusing the blood drinks, she wasn’t in the kindest of moods. She stood there until they were in a point blank distance then rose up the two guns, with them being as close as they were, she kicked on the power and sent two shots toward their faces. One right after the other, with a bang, fell dead to the ground. One had a nice neat bullet hole in his forehead, the back of his head was missing and all over the ground. The talker however was still alive. His face had been blown partially off.

“Damn it.” She muttered as he writhed in pain screaming on the ground clutching what was gone from his face. She bent over what was left of him then dragged him by the collar to Glade, “Here, drink.” It could at least work in their favor since she screwed up and didn't kill him. The dead eye power should have worked, but it wasn’t always a fail safe. “This town is full of dangers for human and vampires alike. Wait until you see the real beasts running around, but stay out of the woods because the Fae are there, and will strike when you least expect it. Everything is just trying to survive in its own way.” The last line was more of an afterthought spoken. From there she drifted away into her own thoughts wondering what was taking the girls so long.

Glade had mentioned her throwing him out a window straight to her and she didn't even show a sign of guilt about it. Didn't even seem to pause except to choose her words about it. That seemed so wrong, he'd never do such a thing after all. At best he'd inconvenience someone but that really wasn't so bad. She would have straight up killed him. Still he really didn't think he felt much anger, not right now, at least. But his furrowed brow and one raised eyebrow certainly conveyed the strange sense of confusion about the matter.

She went on too explain that even though she'd done that. Because she'd turned him and he'd survived, he was now basically under her wing. A strange idea for him, he'd never really relied on anyone. Except perhaps as a child. She certainly seemed to be willing to help him now, a great deal even. The shadows, those were things he had started to figure out, if only just. Black blood, apparently, was a sign of one such type. It fit, but, it was a bit unfortunate. Now the getting traits from other types, that was new to him. Telepathy? That could be extremely useful. Although, her saying she could make people like or dislike her did make him a bit worried.

He considered speaking but then she started sniffing and he shut his mouth. His first instinct was too look around assuming her smell was a bit more advanced then his and she smelled something that shouldn't be there. Her next words confirmed that. She took out two pistols from underneath her skirt and he pulled his head back, what an odd place to put them. Or perhaps it wasn't, maybe people wouldn't exactly be checking for that. As she did he pulled out his Glock slowly in anticipation. Though he wasn't quite sure if it would be of any use for him.

Two men emerged and one started talking, very unusual accent. It was only moments before they ran forwards, she shot, and the two fell to the ground. He flinched. He still hadn't entirely gotten used to the violence that occurred in this new world he was getting accustomed to. And he turned away his head for a moment as he saw one was still alive. She brought the live one over to Glade and told him to drink. He looked at the face for a moment taking in a breath, he'd much rather not. But, he had lost a great deal of blood and he knew that this was the way to get that back.

He breathed in and out for a moment before pushing the mans head so he didn't have to look at it and digging his fangs into his neck. Life seemed to flow into him again, so to speak. He could still here her speaking. Dangers for humans and vampires, yeah, no kidding. Fae? Alright, he knew there were beasts, but he hadn't spent any time in the woods yet, which apparently he should not do anyway, so that was something he'd keep in mind. He noticed the wound in his stomach wasn't bleeding so much anymore, and also that he was feeling a great deal better as he finally pulled away from the neck, his fangs retracting back and shoving the man away from him.
"That's the part I don't know if I can get used to. Staying out of the sun, away from the woods, even hiding in general, all fine with that. Things get gruesome though and it's just really not where I'd like to be." I-

Glade paused, "Why are you being so calm about this? I mean I get not being freaked out or anything but does none of this faze you anymore? At all? Is my life just going to turn any of that into a dull background noise if I live long enough?"
