Auction Block Tango [Mortll]

Post by Amalea »

The red-head hadn’t really known what to expect from the auctions this go around. She had been glad to see a fairly decent turnout in both contestants and bidders despite past issues and the current state of the city. Then, she and Amara had gone to great lengths to ensure that patrons tonight were safe and could relax within these walls. The carnival theme had been a nice touch on Amara’s part and added a bit of festivity to the mix.

She had been a bit surprised to see both Mortll and Mordechai’s names on the list of contestants several days ago. Of any names that she would have expected, they would have been fairly far down on her list of potentials. More so Mortll, given the blood thief was aware of the giant killer’s connection to the mistress of the Necropolis. She had expected he would attend, but to see him enter the auction was the strange part to her; to each their own though.

The seed of an idea had started in her mind around that time. It was something she had considered carefully over the next few days before finally deciding to take a wait and see approach. It had been an interesting night in that respect. The mental freakout had been unexpected but at least it hadn’t been debilitating. Having support had certainly helped.

Making her way over to Mortll’s booth she gave the woman a small smile. ”I hope you’re not disappointed,” she stated. ”I’m sure I wasn’t your first choice of bidder.” She knew she likely wasn’t given the state of things, but that had been one of the reasons she had bid. ”I’d like to have a chat before we leave here tonight, so please join me in the far booth when you’re ready.”

The red-head walked away then, carefully considering what she wanted to discuss with the necromancer before they left the Necropolis. This chat would set the tone for the service period; she knew that instinctively. Sliding into the booth, she flagged down James to bring her a fresh glass of water while she waited. The next move was Mortll’s.

Mortll sat there taking in the crowd the big surprise of the night was that Perry had attended and placed a bid on her. His stirrings as of late had lightened Mortlls mood a bit having her sire around even as crazy as she knew he must be or better words for it would be lost .... Yes the feeling she got from him that he was lost ... a lost soul in search of who he is and where he fits in the world was how she felt when he was near. So when he bid on her it was a surprise. She sat there at the booth deep in thought she did not hear the blood thief's approach until she spoke. Amaleas total lack of self confidence brought a smile to the Necromancers face. Mortll had no time for floundering or being unsure of oneself she had found out the hard way that if you showed anyone a weakness they would eat you alive. That was when she was young ...In Harper Rock it went triple fold. Mortll was silent and just nodded as she spoke letting her finish . " Yes I will meet you there in a bit Congratulations on your win Amalea " she did not have to say anything more as her eyes moved on from the blood thief dismissing her in search for Perry.

The red-head sat back in the booth sipping her water as she took in the winding down of the auction as owners made arrangements with their new ‘subjects’. She preferred the term ‘pet’ for herself but she suspected she would be in the minority there. It didn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things as it was Every’s call seeing that she was her mistress for the duration. In many ways, she was looking forward to discovering what the Shadow had planned. There was no worry that the woman would push the boundaries that the human had set. That simple fact had allowed her to truly relax; it did help that the vampire was still floating around waiting for her to finish her business with Mortll so they could finish their own.

Amalea’s gaze tracked the movements of the Necromancer for a few moments, wondering if she had found the one for whom she was searching. There was no doubt that was what the woman was doing based upon how she had taken her leave. The red-head didn’t mind; she was patient. The vampire leaving without speaking to her would not bode well for her so the blood thief was certain she’d come back once she got her search out of her system. For the moment, the human was content to sit and wait.
