Nightmares and Dreamscapes

Post by Cellissee (DELETED 9822) »

Cellissee could hear what sounded like the radio. Just an unknowable garble of words and voices seperated by static and weird 'electric' noises. Cellissee thought it sounded like a fax machine having a bad trip. She was formless, in a void of black, that pulsed and vibrated in dim barely visible waves and specks of several colors. It looked like what she used to see when she would press her palms against her closed eyelids as a child. She always thought that was why she needed glasses. Self mutilation.

"Better than the bruises," the words stretched and echoed around her.

Natalie?

I told you to be quiet and stay in your room, you know how he is when he get's home this late. I swear you do this to me on purpose!

Mom?

Cellissee looked around for the source of the voice. She could feel the sweat beading on her brow, her breath became sharper, shallower. "Mom? Is that you?"

She slid off the bed. It's sheets crumpled and damp with sweat. She was barefoot, wearing sweat pants and a white tank top, her shoulder length auburn hair was tangled and unwieldy. Her breaths were shallow and she shivered at what felt like a draft. Bjorn must have left a window open or something.

"Bjorn?" Cellissee called out, "Teagan?" All that answered her was the creak of the floorboards as she stepped into the hallway.

The house was as dark as it was silent. Moonlight painted the walls of the hallway as Cellissee passed timidly into the living room.

She jumped as she sensed movement to her left. She turned her head in time to see the front door was open. Cellissee's eyes widened as she approached the door. Her heart began to thump against her chest. What if it was a Paladin? What if something happened to Bjorn, or Teagan? Realizing she had absolutely no way to defend herself, Cellissee stepped through the door.

The air was cool against her skin, the moon was full. It looked bigger than it should of been. She only got to furrow her brow at the anomaly before her attention was grabbed by a figure in the fields. She squinted to see who or what it was. It looked like a person, sort of, or like their shadow, standing in the fields next to the house. Cellissee thought her vision was severely impaired for some reason, she hasn't had this much trouble seeing in the dark since she was turned, but the moonlight was enough for her to make her way out into the field. Soon the figure began to take shape. The figure was female, she had sandy blonde hair tied up in a messy bun. She was barefoot and dressed as Cellissee saw her last, in a black pair of sweats and a purple Lakers hoodie. Cellissee's heart leapt into her throat.

"Oh my..holy **** Natalie?" Natalie smiled and nodded. Her green eyes swam with affection. "What the ****, what are you doing here? I mean hi! I mean how? I ******* missed you so much..." Natalie pressed her finger against Cellissee's lips,"Shh, it's ok now babe. I'm here now everything is going to be fine from now on." Natalie wiped a tear escaping down Cellissee's cheek and kissed her. Cellissee wrapped her arms around her girlfriend's neck and pressed against her.
She didn't care why, or how, all that mattered was she was here. Natalie was here, like really really here, She was right? She was kissing her. She could feel her in her arms. She could smell that cucumber and green tea scented shampoo she always used, but what if she didn't know? You know, about her fangs? About certain, cravings, she had acquired? What if I can't control it during, like..Holy **** what if I...

"Wait," Cellissee reluctantly pushed herself away from Natalie, "wait, I have to tell you something." Natalie stared at her, her face strangely blank and unreadable. Cellissee hugged herself and looked at her feet to gather her thoughts, "I'm..um...I'm sorta different now."

Natalie smiled knowingly, "I know Cellissee, I know you're a Vampire."

Cellissee was taken aback, "You do?" Natalie stepped toward Cellissee, "Yeah, you always were, you just didn't know it." Natalie placed her palms on Cellissee's shoulders and looked into her eyes, "You didn't live off blood, you lived off sympathy, pity. I pitied you and you fed off it like a parasite." Cellissee couldn't breath, tears welled up in her eyes as she tried to think of something to say or do. Natalie's grip tightened, "You just shook that *** at me knowing I'd give you whatever you wanted. Poor little runaway. Your parents were so mean to you weren't they. They were probably sick of you too. That's why she hit you."

"No!" Cellissee screamed and broke free from Natalie's grip."That's not true, Cellissee screamed, "what the **** are you talking about?"

Natalie smiled as Cellissee began to sob, "Yes it is Jessica. You know it is. They are happier now, they wanted you to leave. Why do you think they never had any other kids huh? You were a cancer to them Jessica. Poor little Jessica Roe." Her words seethed with venom. Cellissee stared at her in disbelief, she jumped as she felt something move within her. She remembered the feeling. The ancient thing. The instinct. "Why don't you use your real name huh, Jessica Roe? Afraid they'll find you. Find out what you are, what you always were? Maybe they'll slay you themselves," Cellissee shook her head, struggling to hold it back, to keep it from taking over. Natalies voice rose into a shout, full of hate and disgust, "maybe I will when I get out of this cell you sent me to! You ran Jess, you abandoned me! It should be you locked up in a ******* cell, murderer, killer! I know what you did! Did you ever really love me? Or was I just another life for you to drain away you ******* parasitic *****!"

Cellissee groaned and fell to her knees. She wanted to tell Natalie to stop, to shut up, to run, but all she could do was growl. She felt her fangs extend, her face twisted into a vicious snarl. She tried to fight it, she tried so hard, but there was nothing she could do, it was taking over. She saw Natalie scream as she hissed at her, and then she leapt. Cellissee was reduced to a disembodied thought form, inside of her skull, yelling in protest, intimately knowing what 'the ancient thing' wanted to do to Natalie. It wanted her blood, it wanted to tear her apart limb from limb, and all Cellissee could do was watch...

Cellissee's eyes burst open and she leaped out of bed, almost high enough to hit her head on the ceiling fan. She landed with her back against the wall, palms pressed tightly against it. She was hyperventilating, old habits and all. It took her a full minute to realize she where she was, and that she was actually awake, and it was all a dream. She was her, she was safe in the farmhouse, Natalie was in prison, it was all a dream. Right?
