Coffee and Gushing [Emerson]

Several weeks had passed since she had the sleepover for her and Emi. A lot of things had changed since then. Her and Robin were a couple, well she thought they were. It hadn't really been confirmed? Robin had moved from the guest room to her bed, so she assumed thats what they were. The rounds of sex also helped her to confirm that. Anyways, the blonde had missed Emerson. She didn't have anyone to gush to about Robin. She gave small details to her human friends, they didn't know what Maddison was.
She wanted someone to gush to, and Robin just wouldn't cut it.
So Maddison and Emerson had decided to get a cup of coffee, something Maddison was grateful for since it was now October. She could have anything Pumpkin. It was wonderful. Robin didn't really seem the Fall type which was proving to be hard to decorate the house. He didn't really appreciate her efforts. But Maddison had gone all out. Fall everything. She loved it. Truth be told, she decorated for every Holiday.
She was one of those people.
Maddison checked her watch and grinned. It was time to go. She didn't want to be late. Today, Maddison was dressed more comfortable. Jeans and a sweater, it was more relaxed for her. Her blonde locks were left down and soon she was out of the house with her bag. It didn't take long before Maddison arrived at the cafe. It wasn't a place she had ventured into yet, so this would be a new experience for her. The blonde slipped through the doors, not spotting Emerson yet, she headed up to the register and ordered herself a Pumpkin Spice Latte and a muffin.
Maddison found a booth near a window in the back. It'd work, she hoped. A quick text was sent to Robin to let him know she'd be out late and would be home whenever. The blonde set her bag down next to her and let her phone rest on the table top, on vibrate of course. Now it was time to wait for the brunette to show up.

Emerson had wanted to meet with Maddison sooner than a few weeks. She liked hanging out with the blonde, even if they had only spent time together once previously. However, with her uneventful schedule, she waited for something to come up for the two to talk about. No point in meeting if there would be just dead air, right? Eventually, a couple of things worth speaking of fell into place - Emerson met with Robin and found minimal information about his relationship with Maddison, and the brunette landed herself a job. The latter was a miracle, in her opinion. It was just pure luck that she managed to get herself employed. It'd be more impressive if she could keep the job for a length of time.
Emerson wasn't needed for work that day, which made it the perfect time for the two girls to spend time catching up. She got up a bit late, per the usual, and got ready as quick as she could manage, while still looking presentable. She probably wouldn't be all that late, and it probably wouldn't be a huge deal, but she didn't want to keep Maddison waiting more than she already had. It was October now, after all. Emerson was beyond thrilled about the new month and the approaching holiday at the end of it. It only made going to the Voodoo Cybercafe all the more spooky. She was
dressed for the occasion and the season - a cropped sweater and jeans. She couldn't find the sweater in orange or brown, which would have been more fall-appropriate, in her opinion, so the green would have to do. At least it matched her eyes.
After tying up her boots and making sure she had anything she would need, the girl took the familiar journey to the cafe. It was becoming one of her favorites, and the usual barista had already memorized her order. Upon entering, she noticed Maddison already seated in a booth in the corner. She managed to catch the woman's eye and offered her an excited wave, giggling, before going up to the counter and ordering. She decided to switch it up a little and joined her usual beverage - a pumpkin coffee with whipped cream and sprinkles - with an apple pie pocket. She'd had a bit too much pumpkin-flavored things lately, and couldn't forget about the other popular fruit of the season. Emerson brought her drink and pastry carefully over to the table and slid into the seat across from Maddison.
"Sorry m'little late. Getting up isn't my favorite thing." She smiled because, from experience, the blonde already knew. Emerson wrapped her hands around her mug, letting the heat of the coffee warm her hands.
"So, fill me in, Madds. Robin said you were a thing, but there's gotta be more to it." She titled her head to one side. She was quite curious to know.

Maddison gave a small wave when Emerson first walked in the door. She would wait for the woman to join her at the booth. When the brunette did, however, she was bombarded with the question about Robin. Robin must have said something when they had met up for coffee. She'd kick his butt later. Maddison had wanted to be the one who told Emi.
The blonde let out a small laugh and looked up at the brunette. "Well, a few nights after you came over, I planned a dinner for Robin. I went all out, cooked the meal and all that jazz. We had a small conversation and then one thing led to another...to my room..." She left out the part about the small fire. It was always something. "And now we're a couple. He's my bae. I joke around with that part, since I know it's such a stupid term. But yeah, we're a thing now. Nothings really changed except that he sleeps in my bed every night."
Maddison gave another smile. She was happy. Things really hadn't changed except for now they got to kiss and sleep in the same room. It was an interesting dynamic. She didn't think of Robin has the person who turned her, her sire, she just thought of him as her partner. The other part to her. It would really suck if the two split. She only hoped that didn't happen.
"But what about you? What's this good news!?"

"You cooked? Awe, cute, like a romantic dinner. Did you have doves and roses and candles? The whole bit?" she teased, offering Maddison a smile. "And m'honored that you took my advice on the whole communication bit. Also pretty happy that it seemed to work out for you." She paused, however. Room? What did they do, have a little picnic in bed? Honestly, that would have been quite cute, but slowly and surely the girl managed to connect the dots. "Oh," she mumbled. If she could, she'd be blushing. "Madds, oh my gosh, you and Robin - you did the thing!" she squealed, dancing around a bit in her seat. It was exciting, after all. "Can I prod?" She wasn't given a very detailed story. She didn't wait for Maddison to answer her question before she continued with her said prodding. "Was he all romantic about it and stuff? Treat you nice? Well, of course he did, you wouldn't be with him if he didn't but yee, I'm so happy for you!" And she genuinely was. It would take a few days, but the realization of her own lacking love life would come to her, and she wallow in her loneliness for a bit. But after some sweets and a cartoon or two, she'd be alright.
"Well, now my good news isn't as exciting 'cause you and Robin are all tangled up with each other." She pouted and took a sip of her drink. "Oh well. On the topic of Robin, actually, when I met up with him, somehow or another I brought up the fact that I needed a job, and he tried to be real cute and offer me some input with a friend of his. Um... Lincoln King, I think? I dunno, some young businessman or whatever." If Robin and Maddison were a thing now, he probably would have introduced the blonde to one of his friends, right? It wouldn't hurt to ask. "But yeah. It was all too grown up sounding to me and I decided that I would try to find a job on my own before he could manage to mention me. And I did! Tada." She giggled lightly and pushed her hair out of her face. Emerson was happy with her new job. It was simple and the hours were good and she knew she was really going to like it. "Oh, but don't worry. I'll quit as soon as you open up your shop."
Emerson noticed that she was being quite the chatterbox and shut herself up by biting into her pastry.

"Yes, he was sweet. It was a pleasant experience. Uhm...we did it more than once that night. I don't know. It's so embarrassing to talk about! I know girls are supposed to gush about the sex, but I don't want to bore you or anything. Robin is a nice looking man and very well situated in the private parts area." If Maddison could blush, she was sure that she would. She had just said out loud that Robin had a nice penis.
Maddison made a face at the mention of Lincoln. She didn't like him. Robin did, but she did not. So all Maddison could do was nod and offer a smile. She was sure the blonde man would be willing to give Emerson a job should she need one, but she rather Emerson work for her when her store opened. But! Alas, Emerson had found her own job. "So what do you do! That's exciting that you have your own job. And yes of course, you'll need to quit when I open my shop. I'm starting to get financials together for that."
Maddison spent a lot of her spare time, drawing out designs and looking though her money. She was also searching for the perfect space. Everything needed to be perfect before she decided to actually go through with buying a spot and setting up shop. She didn't want to fail at this. Not when this was one of her life passions. "But yeah, what are you working as?"

Emerson couldn't help but giggle at Maddison's response. It was cute, how she was all flustered about it. "You're not boring me in the slightest! M'actually quite entertained. But hey, girls liking to gush about doing the do is just a stereotype. No biggie." She waved it off with her hand with a smile. She thought about it for a bit. Did Emerson like to gush about sex? She was enjoying what information Maddison was giving her. Had Emerson ever even had sex? She felt like it was something she wouldn't technically remember, but rather just... Know. And she didn't know. She couldn't think of being in someone's bed with their hands and lips all over her. She tried not to think of how she could jog her memory in the area. "What a great conversation starter. I'll be sure to mention it to Robin the next time I see him. 'Hey, Robin. A little birdy told me you've got quite the peen.'" And, well, how could she not laugh about that? The scenario would be something, alright.
For once, Emerson was excited about discussing the topic of having a job. It didn't make her feel as grown up as she thought, which was good. Instead, it just made her feel more secure. Like she had some sort of structure in her life. A game plan, of sorts. "M'kay, so basically I was just wandering around Harper Rock like I always am, and I somehow landed myself in Honeymead - which is seriously the cutest little place - and I found the market and in the corner there was this little shop. It's called The Flower Pot. It's like a floral shop where Elizabeth - she's my boss - puts together bouquets. Basically, I've got a position in the sales department. Nothing too high and mighty, but enough." She shrugged like it was nothing, but in reality, she was ecstatic. She loved nature and being around flowers all the time only made sense.
"Oh, you're starting your shop soon? Yay!" Emerson took a breath to swipe some of the melting whipped cream off her drink. "Wow, Madds. Seems like everything's going good for the both of us. I've got a job, you've almost got a job, you've got Robin-" She pouted slightly. She didn't want to seem disappointed or anything, because the mood was so positive that she really couldn't be, but she couldn't help it. "I wanna be with someone," she mumbled.

She let out a laugh. "Oh please don't tell him! He'd be so embarrassed. I'm so embarrassed. I think he'd kill me if you told him that." She brushed a hand over her cheeks, they would have been red if she could blush. She didn't want Robin knowing she had spilled intimate details of their sex to Emerson. Girls were supposed to keep those conversations between themselves. She had no idea what Robin told Emerson about Maddison. "What did he say about me anyways?"
The blonde was curious. Did he gush? Or was he non-nonchalant about it? She was probably gushing more than him. The blonde shrugged a shoulder and then smiled at Emerson. "A flower shop! That sounds nice. I will definitely have to visit, buy some flowers for my vases around the house." She smiled again. "Good job, I'm excited for you." Maddison rested back in her seat to take a drink from her latte and then a bite from her muffin. She wasn't too hungry, having a mug of blood becoming out, but she still had an itch for regular food. So the muffin would suffice. That was when she caught Emerson's last comment.
"I'm sure you'll find someone. Anyone would be lucky to have you be their girlfriend. I didn't think I was going to fall for anyone and it kind of just happened with Robin. I'm not sure how it did, it just did. I'm sure the exact same thing will happen for you. Don't worry about it. Enjoy being free and being able to do whatever you want."

“I won’t, I won’t! M’just teasing,” Emerson quickly reassured the blonde. She knew the silent rules about girl talk, one of them being that no information shared was to leave the pair. Kind of like this was their little secret. She’d try her best to keep all the information between the two of them, but she couldn’t promise it. There’d probably be an incident in the near future where the girl would go off on one of her rambles (or 'word vomit', for better terms) and something would slip.
Maddison bringing up the fact that Robin would ‘probably kill her’ made the girl a bit uncomfortable, because he had actually killed someone. He had that capability, and by the sounds of it, the action hadn't been intentional. More like a reflex. An instinct. Then again, Prudence was not shy of killing, and Emerson wasn’t scared that her sire was going to pull anything of the sorts on her. She wasn't all too sure why she let the incident bother her so much. It wasn't any of her business, and it was a part of the past. She had even met Robin, and the man and the event didn't seem to click. It didn’t matter either way. Maddison was her friend, and she was allowed to worry about her. She was allowed to care about her and make sure she was safe.
Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, Emerson put on a smile. “Oh, right. Nothing much, really. He mentioned that he was doing well and that you were doing well and answered my question regarding your circumstances with each other. It may sound like nothing but he was quite happy about it all. I can tell he cares for you.” She shrugged her shoulders. Some people just weren’t prone to gushing about their feelings and the details of their life. It didn’t mean that they didn’t care. Everyone had their own ways of showing affection and the like.
“Yeah, definitely come visit. There are tons of pretty bouquets for every season, occasion... Whatever y'need." Emerson remembered that Maddison liked to decorate. Flowers would be the cutest little touch. Until they died, of course, but that just meant the bouquet would have to be replaced with a new one. "And there's a bunch of other businesses nearby that you can stop by, too. Have a shopping spree.” Emerson loved shopping - for clothes, home decor, and even groceries. If it involved a purchase, she was up for it. And, now that she had a job, she could go shopping more often. She’d limit herself, though. No good in spending all her money at once.
Emerson was touched by Maddison’s words. It felt really nice to know that she had a friend, especially one that thought so well of her. “Awe, Madds. I mean, m’literally the cutest, so I don't understand how I don't have everyone all over me,” she joked. In reality, by interacting with next to no one, it wasn't a surprise that no one had their eye set on her. The brunette either needed to start getting out more, or the right people needed to start hanging around her go-to locations. “I dunno. I mean, it’s nice being my own person and all, but I like having someone around all the time. Even if I’m not with with them, I like doing this - just being able to sit and talk. You won't get sick of me too fast, will you?”

"Of course I won't get tired of you. We're friends." Maddison nodded some and took another sip of her drink. She wasn't exactly sure what else to talk about. She had shared about Robin and that had been about it that had happened in her life since the last time they had talked. She knew that Robin wouldn't kill her. It had just been a saying. Robin liked Maddison too much.
"So about Halloween? Did you decided what you're going to dress up as? We're still going you know. Robin is going to even if he doesn't know it yet. I have his costume planned out." Maddison grinned and finished off her muffin. "I'm super excited. I added some pumpkins to the house since it's actually October know. I love fall. The leaves are falling, it's so nice!"

Emerson smiled. "Yeah! I'm gonna be a fawn. I picked out my dress and I've got my makeup all situated but I still to finish up the antler flower crown headband thingy." She struggled to explain and let out a giggle. "But yeah. I'm really excited. I think my costume is gonna be super cute. Just gotta finish up all the little details." While spending all her time at the current cafe, she'd watched a ton of videos online to get her ideas and learn how to create the whole look. It was pretty easy, as it turned out. Well, for Emerson, at least. Although she couldn't draw or paint, she found herself to be quite handy with makeup and crafting. Her skills weren't extensive, but she enjoyed practicing them and liked the comfort they brought. The activities seemed rather familiar. Half the time, Emerson's hands were working faster than her brain. She couldn't immediately catch on to what she was doing - her body just seemed to know how to make her eyeliner into a perfect wing and shape modeling clay. It didn't go unappreciated, though.
And while she was on the topic of makeup, Emerson was reminded of something else she could share. She dropped the volume of her voice slightly - not enough to seem suspicious to outsiders, but just enough so they wouldn't be able to easily catch on to her words. "Oh. I forgot. So, I dunno if I told you, but m'an allurist, and I can see my reflection, right? And y'know how it's supposed to get all dead after a while? Well, that started to happen but then I..." She shrugged her shoulders. She wasn't quite sure how she managed it, if she was being honest. It all just sort of happened. "I just kinda taught myself how to not see my reflection like that. I look normal. And it really helps when I wanna do my makeup and stuff. So, y'know."
Emerson giggled. "Sounds like you've got it all figure out. And Robin wrapped around your finger." The girl wondered what kind of gimmick the male would be getting forced into. It'd be a show, whatever it would end up being. "Awe, I love pumpkins. Especially the little mini ones. And gourds. They're so cute! I think fall's my favorite season, out of them all. I think. We'll find out once winter comes, and the rest of the bit." She knew her birthday would be close come winter. Her mind wondered to what she would do to celebrate. A party? Just a little get together with a few people? Or, perhaps, she'd treat herself to a day at home with no work and only a bowl of chocolate cake batter to her name. The idea was tempting. "Where do you think we'll be going? The neighborhoods around yours and Robins?"
