A Little Blackmail goes a long way.{Side Story Exposed}
Mona McGee sat at the desk. The glare of the screen made the amber liquid in her glass glisten a odd shade of blue. Smoke tendrils snaked their way up from the half smoked cigarette forgotten in the ashtray. A huge gloating I told you fuckers so attitude had been present now for days. The outing of the Vampires had been a boon to her ego but something had been niggling at the back of her mind. These fuckers were just going to ride it out They would still hide they wouldn't come out for the world to see. Then what about the ones that were genuinely decent Should they be publicly outted . **** if Mona knew but having some of the fucktards that didn't give a **** about humanity even though that's where they were spawned from . It would be a pleasure to make some of them pay .
All of her research was going to pay off .... She started typing in names and sending the message :
Your a Vampire :You have been sloppy and careless I will be printing a Edition of the Sun with all known Vampires ... for a 10,000 Donation your name can be removed from the published list make all checks payable to Mona McGee. You have one week before publishing
She hit send and the Emails were off No she didn't know who all of the vampires in the city were but the ones she did know were going to have a little surprise waiting on them .

Doc received an email, and the first thing he thought was .. why the **** can't people get "your" and "you're" correct?! It wasn't ******* rocket science.
He replied to it with his usual, '**** you and your horse' attitude.
didn't ... Vampire Lives Matter?

- For a writer your grammar is atrocious. (Yes I used the word 'your' properly.) The subject of your email (again proper usage) should be "You're a Vampire" or "You are a vampire"; not "Your a vampire" which denotes ownership.
Your email subject line, which intimates I possess / own a vampire, which I do not; is incorrect and I therefore must conclude other information in your email, Mona McGee is also poorly worded.
I would hope you would not be so stupid as to put your (correct possessive use of the word, are you following this?) real name on a blackmail request. However, I am sure the Harper Rock Police will be able to sort it out. They do such wonderful things with tracking data.

No sooner had the messages gone out her Inbox was filling up. The first one was no surprise she had quite expected his response. She had learned a lot about the Dr. not just from conversations with him but her investigations into him. Had she ever been able to prove anything besides a lot of very peculiar behavior for a supposedly upstanding citizen who just happened to be a vampire .
She read the response to her email and took a sip of the bourbon it burned a warming trail down to her gut. Her lips curled into a half grimace and half smile as her red nails started to type at the keyboard.
Ahhh yes my grammar is quite bad on occasion. Do I give a **** no ... I would have expected such a response from the good Doctor ... Yes I know who you are . So it will be interesting how well your DNA testing goes when people think that all you want their blood for is to drink . I know better you know better but a little fear and paranoia goes a long way Doctor. Sure go ahead and tell the police I'm sure they will be very interested in your condition .
She knew she would be hearing more from the good Dr. She was quite sure he and others might just try to kill her .

Dominique stared at the screen in front of her. From her office in Twisted Sister her chair moved back and forth slowly while HOPE tapped each fingertip on the desk in slow repetition. She blinked after reading over the email a third time just to be sure what she had absorbed from it was actually there. It was. She wondered if this is what it was now coming down to. Simple lines drawn and fences going up where there had not been so much for her before. She wasn’t building them. Someone she cared for was putting them up though and that concerned her. Not only creating barriers where there had not been any but she was asking for money to remove them. It left a sting where perhaps she hadn’t felt one in quite awhile. Was it a dose of reality or a call for a little intervention?
“Mona…”
The inked up shadow whispered the sender’s name as she prepared a response. Her fingers typed away and several lines were created before a sudden and firm press of her index finger sent all words visible to be instantly erased.
“What in the hell are you up to now?”
Again her voice was only loud enough for her to hear. She pushed away from her desk and stood up. LESS curled up and pulled her leather jacket from the hook as she made her way towards the shop door. It was time to see an old friend. A meeting that was long overdue.

Re: A Little Blackmail goes a long way.{Side Story Exposed}
Kira hummed as she worked out the notes to a song, she liked to try to have one original piece mixed in with the other numbers, her wraith was there as an extra 'ear'. She let out a sigh when her phone chimed, she knew at least it wasn't Cody, one of her workers asking her more questions about vampires. Ever since 'figuring' it out, not that Kira confirmed or denied it, he was ever curious.
She picked up her phone that was laying next to her on the piano bench, maybe it was an e-mail about the shipment she was waiting on for The Triple Moon Blessings. Though when she read the title of the e-mail, she first thought it was some kid who got a hold of her e-mail but the name sounded familiar. Though she had withdrawn from the world for so long, she felt like she had forgotten a lot.
She rolled her eyes, blackmailing vampires. That's buying a ticket straight to the grave.
"What is it?" Marcus' voice sounded next to her.
"Someone being stupid." Kira replied and typed out a reply to the blackmailer.
"For a writer, your grammar sucks. I don't see any point of paying to keep my name out of anything. People will find out sooner or later, there is no hiding for us now. I'm not sure what you're trying to really do. Is it really the money? Is it a death wish? Piss off the wrong kind of vampire is going to get you killed." she hit send. Did she do something to get noticed recently though? There were plenty of humans who already knew what she is. It must have been that shopping spree, well she didn't for the items, she stole them.
Kira bit her lower lip, she had no idea how this was going to work out. "Marcus, do you think history will repeat itself?" she asked.
"I do not know. I will hope not but with as many blood thirsty vampires and humans never liking people who are different..." Marcus replied, "Makes you kind of want to get out there and live? Like...go get married?"
Kira blinked, dropping her phone. "What the ****?" she said, the shock lasted for a second. "Seriously, why would you bring that up!"
"Because you've been engaged for like ever." Marcus replied, "If you're going to lose your physical body, might as well, use it before its gone and I know you won't until your married so...have no idea how much I miss my body, god those were the days, well nights."
Kira grabbed her phone before standing up. "Damn manwhore. Still only think about one thing even without a body." she muttered, she wished she could stab him. She didn't say anything but left her recording studio. She wasn't ready and felt like she would never be, not that she really thought about it much with everything else going on.

Re: A Little Blackmail goes a long way.{Side Story Exposed}
Elizabeth was working in her shop when she was alerted to a new email arriving in her inbox via telekenisis. She hadn't made any move to open it with a simple thought of her mind yet, as the woman was finishing up a set of table arrangements for a fiftieth anniversary party that was set for tomorrow afternoon. With the second to last arrangement finally complete, the woman thought about the email and finally opened the email that started with a most interesting title from an individual she did not know. Elizabeth wasn't into reading garbage magazines or papers, so any and all tabloids went amiss on the woman and if they went to her email, they were automatically placed in the spam section.
After glancing at the email, all Elizabeth could do was roll her eyes and start the next, and final table arrangement. There was nothing attached to the email; no proof of how this individual 'knew' Elizabeth was a vampire. For all the telepath knew, someone could have just told this woman that she was a vampire, along with people who were, or were not actually vampires. And as anyone knows, there is a saying...'pic, or it didn't happen.' And so, with no pictures provided, Elizabeth simply deleted the email with a gentle roll of her shoulders and a shake of her head. What was the worst that could happen? Her name be printed in some magazine that everyone knew was garbage? And even then, so what? Her only business endeavour and homes were not titled in her vampire name, but that of a human alias she took about two years ago. Once the matter was settled, Elizabeth moved on to addressing this issue in her family Crownet area, certain that this was going to be something many others in the city might have to deal with. The best she could do is forewarn them, and offer some insight, but what they decided was up to them, as their life was their own to control.

Why are you taking me through troubled waters, I asked? Because your enemies cannot swim, he replied.

She sat staring at the monitor. Blinking occasionally as she kept re-reading the letter. The gypsy knew of this person and had contact with them before (nothing deep and personal. mainly advertising the shops in her publication a few times. Pandora's had a small rack near the register that had copies up for customers to pick up).
No, she did not personally know this Mona McGee, but the woman was claiming she knew her.
Zodiac sighed. It was inevitable, she concluded. As she had cautioned her 'children' a few nights back, the living was going to grasp at anything out of the ordinary and conclude it meant vampire. The fact that she was a target did not ruffle her feathers in the least.
"What the hell took someone so long to seek me out?" She laughed despite her irritations. The girl had always hid in plain sight. A business like hers thrived in the bizarre and unusual airs, and she had always been flamboyant in her actions and appearances. It was all part of the 'act'. An 'act' she had perfected over time and with the help of sleight of hand tricks and smoke bombs she had pulled off with ease.
Evidence? What evidence? Video? Fingerprints? Eye witness? Was she gonna have to lock the dumpsters down to keep people from going through the trash?
Again, she sighed in frustration. She never asked for this life. Being turned was forced upon her and she had tried her best never to hurt anyone among the living unless she had no other choice. Absently her fingers caressed the ever present amulet she wore that kept the living free of her need to feed. What proof did this ***** think she had on her?
Do what you must. Survive.
Her Grandmother's last words to her echoed in her mind as she began to type a reply.
Dear Miss McGee
I am curious what your proof would be of such a lie. But truth or not, I know how this game plays out. First its 10k, then 15, and so on and so on. I did respect your journalistic efforts but extortion?
Some things never change no matter how hard you work at life. Gypsy trash = easy mark? I am sorry your personal situation has devolved into extorting people for money in order to be a success. I have operated a business in this town long before the so-called vampires appeared and I will be still doing so long after they are gone in favor of aliens, werewolves, and Nessy swimming laps in the river. I did not get where I am by simply bowing to every attempt at blackmail over lies ever tossed my way and I will not start now.
May the goddess enlighten you and help you back to the right path for your life. You will be in my prayers for the other misguided souls in this town.
Blessings to you and yours.

She hit the send button then sat back and lit up a cigarette. An old habit from life when she got upset. The smoke did nothing to her or for her, but the actions itself helped to calm her nerves in moments like this.
"Just bring it on, *****." She fumed. There was ways to hurt this woman without even lifting one finger of 'vampire' in the process. Quickly, she sent out a mass message to some of her friends asking what they might know about this Mona McGee. Everyone had dirt on them. It was just a matter of finding it and deciding the best way to spin it in one's favor.
As an afterthought, she canceled her subscription to the publication.

Re: A Little Blackmail goes a long way.{Side Story Exposed}
Elizabeth was alerted of the email but Molly was taking care of all of the businesses back in Harper Rock while she was enjoying her time in California at a good friend's house with her daughter, Chelsea. She was having an amazing time and she had not thoughts of returning any time soon. It was when her phone went off moments later that alerted her that there might be a problem. Looking at her phone she noticed it was from Molly which couldn't be good given that her was alerted of the email just moments ago.
'Lizzie, I think that you need to reply to this email that you got from some Mona woman. Apparently she wants to out you as a vampire.'
'Molly this has never been a concern to us before. We have been open about what I am and hell...no fangs...how much of a threat am I really to the community. My businesses are for entertainment and charities, ooooh big scary vampire!! I run a soup kitchen and an orphanage. I am not worried.'
'But Lizzie...you don't understand...she's trying to blackmail you into keeping your name off the list that she is going to post in the paper she runs. It's one of those tabloid papers.'
She had to think about this in depth because with where she's currently staying though she was sure that she was permanently moving in because it was completely calm and worry free. Her house mate and their children were at the top of her mind. With them being in California, she didn't see where it would bother them any but she would let him know what's going on back in Harper Rock in case he was going to be affected as well. She sent off a quick text.
'Hey, watch your email because there is a human back in Harper Rock that is blackmailing vampires. You know I do not care if the city knows about me and I will tell her as such given that we are so far away and I do not believe that the girls will be affected but I felt that you ought to know.'
Once she pressed send on her phone to send him the message, she sat down at her laptop. She didn't use her telepathic abilities unless she needed to, to keep her family safe. How she looked at it now, her family had doubled in size even if they were just friends but she would protect them all should trouble come their way. It didn't take long for her to come up with a response because there was a good portion of the city that already knew what she was. Her fingers began to type out her reply to the woman that thought she was going to make a small amount of profit off of the knowledge that plagued her mind.
Dear Ms. McGee,
First off, I corrected your grammar mistake in the subject line of this email. Secondly, I have not been careless nor sloppy. My entire staff at all of my businesses know what I am as I have never kept that a secret. On top of all of this Madam, you would know that I am not a threat to humankind, I have no fangs to attack with, I do not sire anyone, and I do all feeding from a blood bag in a coffee mug as if it was my morning coffee.
My personal belief is that we can coexist peacefully and have thought so for years. If you have been watching me to know that I am a vampire then you would have known all of this already so therefore I would like to say that you are the one that has been careless and sloppy.
Now on to the matter of money. 10,000 is nothing to what is in my bank account and I would not even be bothered with the loss as my businesses do very well. However I will not fall prey to extortion. Many people know who and what I am and never had they needed to worry about me. I have made my presence known for the last four years that I am a vampire and in fact...I was part of the radio broadcast years ago that was letting the community know about vampires and who some were. So please...publish my name because it will not be a surprise to people who had the chance to get to know me.
I do hope that this email finds you in good spirits.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Llewellyn
Once she pressed send on the email, she closed her laptop and walked away. Elizabeth was in search of the two toddler girls that were running about the house. She put on one of their favorite movies which of course was 'Frozen' which she was hoping to get them addicted to a new children's movie soon as she started dinner for the girls and her house mate. She promised the girls that if they were good, they would go swimming in the pool before bed and had their little swim suits sitting out and waiting for after dinner.

Re: A Little Blackmail goes a long way.{Side Story Exposed}
Jonah had expected something like this and sighed as he typed out a quick response.
"Is this like the Ashley Madison hack thing? You got my contact information and now are making exorbitant claims in an attempt to blackmail me and others with little to no real evidence? Pretty sure blackmail is illegal and I have rights as a citizen of Canada. I'll be contacting my attorney immediately and please be advised, any future contact will be reported to him as well and any slander or libel published will be reported as well."
As soon as the message was sent, he set up a folder that all other emails from the designated email address would be stored in and smiled, he was quite confident that a civil rights attorney would have a field day with this and would love the exposure to defend the first discovered non-human, sentient species and establish their rights as citizens.

Re: A Little Blackmail goes a long way.{Side Story Exposed}
There was a small beep from her cell phone that had the brunette glancing sideways from where she sat. Stretched out across her lap, Richter made a noise that sounded like a whine as the woman shifted to collect the device. "It could be Blondie, Rich, stop." She murmured at her beloved's pet only to lift her eyebrow at an unknown email. The contents had the brunette rolling her eyes.
Blackmail wasn’t something she was new to, Dylan's brother had been to make sure of that. But, with her tongue tracing over her fangs as they retracted, Every read over the message once more. "Moron shouldn't give her name to the one they're blackmailing." She shook her head and wrote herself a note, the large dog in her lap barking and moving. After a moment, she removed herself from the couch and stood.
"Should shoot her either way." Every muttered to her cat before scratching at the denim fabric of her cut offs. Her phone still in hand, the woman considered her options. After checking over her bank account, she set up a transfer - not particularly in the mood to deal with the problem for the time being. In the end, she would look like the victim in the matter, at least for the time being.
The woman took a screenshot of the email and the transaction, sending copies to her printer afterwards. It would stay there until she later found her law books. "Funny how someone has to resort to blackmail and extortion to pay rent." She scratched at the side of her arm absentmindledly before bending over to pick up a bloodied newspaper off the ground. Her claws grew and then retracted as she smirked and sent off an email in response.
After send had been pressed, Every moved to her window and carefully pushed aside the black out curtains to look over the city skyline in thought. "I wonder what the newspapers around here will think about a journalist resorting to this level of low and desperate need of publication views."
