Elvis Vegas and a Hel of a night.(Kaspar , Wests)

Post by Eva »

It had been hard to track the old buzzard down but Eva had done it. Andrew McGee was the only person she had ever trusted with Vegas the big boat he had taken care of for years before Lyonel had fallen in love with it and spent a exorbitant amount of cash to refurbish in time for their wedding. "He assured her he would check the old gal out and have her purring like ..." Well Eva refused to repeat what the old ******** said even in her mind. This was going to be their night. The growing West brood needed it desperately and she had bought the finest entertainment money could buy. Granted Kaspars type of music didn't exactly appeal to her most nights but he was a real crowd pleaser and she was sure he could pull off what she wanted. In fact she was sure of it.

He was her first childe that she had turned that she knew would make it in this life. That would be part of hers and now there were more her beautiful childer. Now it was time for them to get to know one another and for them to find out what it meant to be Wests.

A few hours later.

"Are you going to handle the cleaning crew for VEGAS or should I?" Jolie's charm bracelet jingled as she tucked the last of the documents her boss would need into the suitcase. "I can get it covered if you want."
"Please..." Lyonel had enough to deal with. "The Apex Crew and I need to meet up. I am thinking it shouldn't take too long. I will send some of the young hires over there to staighten up."
"Probably should get that display case with the bucket of chicken out of there. It looks tacky." The salon owner handed him the laptop case as well as the brief case as he breezed through the office towards the door.

The tall killer paused in his steps then took one back to be even with her. An expression she knew all too well worked its way across his face. That was not going to happen. She knew it. Lyonel knew it. So waht was the point of bringing it up. He eyes her then smirks even more.

"I dare you to do it." His tone was playful but challenging. "Just try it."
"Well, I wasn't going to do it myself." She rolled her eyes. "That is why I was suggesting a clean up crew."
"Yeah, I need all the help I can get." He moved towards the door. "Not to feed my wife's temper."
"I will call her and see if she is open to putting it in a closet or something." The phones were already ringing.
"It is fine just where it is at. Jasmine is going no where." With that the tall killer was on foot leaving the office and working his way through Veil Tower lobby.

Eva slipped the gold straps over her feet and ran her hand up a perfectly smooth bronze leg. One thing about her birthright was it would allow her to remain more human looking than a lot of these pale vampires that roamed the city streets. She grabbed a clutch and was out of the door. In a instant she was standing before the 8th Dimension mall . She walked inside and straight to the back of the mall. The shop she was looking for was tucked away in a quieter part of the mall.

She entered The Brush and Quill not for the purpose of obtaining a illegal fake id this time it was more for their legitimate business of Calligraphy supplies and all print needs. She was looking for the right paper and look after all this was a West thing it must be done properly. Her fingers lightly brushed the parchments below them then her eyes settled on one the weight and everything was perfect she took it to the woman behind the counter. The type face was a easy selection and so was what was to go on it . She looked at the sample page the woman produced. Eva ordered the amount she needed and took them to the delivery service for the ones she knew where they could be found she had a plan for the ones that were just a bit harder to track down it was a hard task to hide from Ms West if she wanted to find you .

Alma noticed the small yellow paper that was slid under her hotel room earlier that day.
She was starting getting used to the surprises that followed the change from her human previous self to her new vampire reality. Yet, the young gypsy girl, although blessful, was still unfamiliar with the new family structure that was implemented in her life and still had a lot to learn on how to survive and thrive in this community.
She read the invitation again. A family gathering. Maybe this was her chance to meet her new (tribe?) whatever this was, and to find out her place in the city. "Family matters. Tribe matters." . The words of her human grandmother stroke in her mind. The Wests were her family now though, and this gathering was her chance to meet as many as possible. Maybe a chance to meet again the person who sired her too. But, as she was told, this was a very slim chance. She would have to grow stronger before such a meeting and before confronting him to find out why he chose her, above all, to become a vampire and his childe anyway. So it didn't matter.
She started planning. She would need some attire appropriate for the occasion- “maybe ask Eva?” she thought- , and she would need to find out in this strange city where that boat was. Eva had given her a map. In english. With unknown symbols. Yet she would have to save her strength- she had just started to realise that her strength was not infinite, to make the trip there.
And she needed to look fresh for the party.
So lets find out what i got myself into this time” she murmured and exited the building.

The auction had been an interesting experience, wasn't quite what he'd thought it might be but the end result was amusing. Eva had won him, once again securing him as her prized possession, at least for a few days. They'd sat down to briefly discuss the details of their arrangement and what it was she was hoping for out of it. To no one's surprise it was music, and lineage bonding that were on the woman's mind, a way to make use of his talents and ensure they all got to know one another. Lyonel and Matilda seemed on board with the idea of lineage bonding, introducing themselves and offering assistance to the numbers West's who had been turned in quick succession. He was wondering what on earth had gotten into them, Eva had received at least one instance of him being sullen over it, especially after his initial meeting with one of them.

Nevertheless, he had agreed to her terms and gone to the effort of putting together a suitable playlist and practicing some of the tunes they didn't know as well as a band before the event. Kaspar couldn't believe he was asking his band to perform at yet another vampiric event, while he knew the West's would bring no harm to the guys it was still something he'd considered looking into; a replacement band, for live events where the bulk of the attendees would be undead. The guys would probably pitch a fit, they'd been fine thus far and had been surprisingly cool when Kas had sat them down to explain his life-challenged status.

Louis was pacing around the room, asking questions and ticking off a list while Kaspar nodding, accepting the final set list from him. "Ja, Louis, das ist gut, danke... Send it to the others?" He muttered, barely glancing at the man, entirely focused on the task at hand. Enthralling Louis had not been entirely intentional, but it seemed to work well for them both. Louis was determined to have a position with Kaspar and his band, and had proved an invaluable assistant when it came to running errands, moving gear and organising schedules and Kas couldn't deny that he was good at it. It was a relief, in a way, Louis had been a great help and he was an encouraging, fun presence.

Everything was ready, the gear sorted and packed, the band members briefed and prepared, outfits organised and Eva's approval. The list was a mixture of the band's own songs, Kaspar's originals, classics and some newer songs. The band had a few additional songs that they would be playing in the background to pad out the set so Kaspar could do some of the expected socialising here and there. Socialising, Kaspar thought, should be fun and it was this in my mind that he pulled out his phone to make a call.

Voicemail, of course it was.

"Skoll... You are coming to the party, arschloch, if I have to carry you onto the boat myself. Ist das klar, brüderchen?" The smirk could almost be heard in his voice, referring to the man as his little brother, a nickname that had been taken up initially as a way to get on the man's nerves but had grown into a reluctant term of endearment. He wasn't making hollow threats, he wasn't opposed to grabbing the man and bodily hauling him onto the boat if it would please Eva. The blonde stretched, rising from his chair, reaching to give Louis a fond pat on the shoulder as he headed towards the exit. "My friend, we may have a kidnapping to do on the way to the party..."

The invitation was waiting for Blaize when he got home.

Home, being the penthouse where many of the Wests congregated every now and again. Lyonel had given him keys – he had to make sure he could get a set cut for Aleksa, too. Whether or not she wanted to stay in the family hub, he didn’t know. He also had an apartment nearby, at Sanctuary – it was there he’d taken Aleksa after he’d turned her. So soon after his own turning, but he didn’t feel that he had a choice. He could have been ruthless, yes. He could have been merciless. He could have let her die, and that vampire to have its meal. But he’d had visions of her laughter, of her passion, had remembered the way the food had tasted before he’d thrown it back up again. It just seemed such a waste.

The invitation lay on the counter in front of him. He pulled out his phone and took a photo of it. Knowing Eva, Aleksa would have one already. Just in case, though, he sent the photo to his only childe. After the photo, he sent a text.

West party. Did you get an invite? Will you come?

The ‘with me’ was implied, though he hadn’t intended it as a ‘date’. Blaize was oblivious of the implications; she was his childe, and he was her sire. It was a ‘family’ party. It just seemed reasonable, expected even, that they would go together.

After he’d sent the message, he folded up the invitation and slipped it into his wallet. He didn’t then go to the couch, or to the TV, or to bed. He didn’t relax at all – he’d dropped in to collect his bag with his shoes and his dance attire. He was heading to the studio for more training.

“Come on, Aleksa. Are you sure you can’t make it?”

The soft chime of her friend’s voice set her teeth on edge, and she found herself fighting every urge to not snap. There was once a time when it wouldn’t bother her, a time when she enjoyed the way Abigail begged her. If there was one thing that she had learned since her death, though, was that everything changed. Swallowing the bile that rose up the back of her throat, she pushed from the railing and clutched the phone, just as it beeped in her ear.

“I’ve told you. I can’t make it this weekend. Or next weekend. Really, you should take Lance. I would just be a third wheel,” she argued, her eyes closing as she grasped at straws. Excuse after excuse filled her mind, and each one fell flat as her friend found yet another way to twist them around. This time, however, she couldn’t. One mention of the gorgeous singer, and Aleksa was just a thing of the past. “Oh, alright. If you insist. You won’t… mind… right?” The concern was as fake as her smile, and the brunette shook her head as she tapped a nail against the counter. “Of course I don’t mind. We’re old news. He’s… nothing to me now.”

Lie a little better next time.

Without waiting to hear whatever else she had to say, she quickly ended the call and brought up the text message, her smile warming when she caught sight of her sires’ name. Running her tongue along her lower lip, she studied the invitation sitting on her counter, within inches of her nervous tapping, and sighed. She had received it, but having known absolutely no one but him, she wasn’t sure she should attend. Now, with the message on her screen and the elegant script practically screaming at her to obey, she couldn’t think of anywhere else she’d rather be.

I got it, I was just waiting to see if you wanted me there. What’s the attire?

Her message sent, she rested her phone atop of the invitation and turned on her music as she continued packing.

Eva and Lyonel seemed intent on a party, and Matilda wasn't going to be the one to say no to them, that never ended particularly well. In fact, it had dawned on her that perhaps she could muster a bit of enthusiasm. Tilda had made a point of introducing herself in passing to a few of the newer West's, and mocked both Eva and her favourite Lyon man about their sudden need to be total breeders. She understood it, in a way, the desire to sire, to make someone for yourself who you could nature and care for. It was almost like a child replacement, in a way, a sick sort of replacement for the human children none of them could have but it was the only thing they had. She herself hadn't sired in some time, there was no great desire in her to do so until she found someone who she could imagine knowing forever, or who deserved it. ****, she didn't know what she was waiting for or if she'd just given up on the whole concept entirely.

It didn't matter, there were plenty of new West's in need of help and without any of her own she was able to devote herself to providing it.

Wolfgang was gone, for the foreseeable future, merely a vague scent that hovered in the original West penthouse, a memory who left behind tangible signs every time he took off. New York, wasn't it? In fact, she had thought for a while there that she would be one of the few left behind. Eva and Lyonel were supposed to go to, in fact that latter had asked her to join them, to be with them in the Big Apple. It was the latter who she waited to see, his movements weren't so hard to track if you knew the man, and so here she was draped in a chair in the lobby, waiting for the Killer to make his presence known. He was hard to miss, that was for sure. Her lips twitched into a cool smile, her eyes lighting as they shifted over him, taking in ever heartbreakingly beautiful feature. He was warmer, more stable than the man he viewed almost as a father figure, not vitally afraid of committing to those he loved. Not afraid of the concept of deeply loving at all. It was one of the biggest differences between them, amongst a million similarities that made her heart constrict.

She was wearing a sharply cut suit in a royal blue that flattered her slender frame, highlighting her curves and adding a little bit of colour to her fair complexion. Fair wasn't really the word for it, deathly pale was closer to the mark. Her long blonde hair had only recently been let down from the pins that held it in place, falling in gentle waves across her shoulders and back. "Vegas, Lyonel? Please, mate, don't tell me you've gone and hired an Elvis impersonator..." Her laughter was soft, her smile evidence that she was just teasing, she knew full well that Eva's childe would be performing but she wasn't above teasing. "I figured you might need a hand, and I have two. Plus, as per usual i'd love your advice on what to wear, handsome. So, gonna help me pick an outfit, or am I at the mercy of my closet?"

Jolie was an unstoppable force. No grass would ever grow under her feet. There was no denying it as she stepped out of the car before the valet could get the door fully open on the black 2016 Bentley Mulsanne. Celadon eyes were on the bare, dark long leg sliding out of the space it occupied in favor of the sidewalk that the cinnamon ankle wrap sandal claimed as she stood up to her full height. The flow of her long stride and the lift of the sheer sundress that moved with her reminded him it was summer and it was always a beautiful time of the year. The sweetness in the air from the woman’s exit filled the back seat where he was sitting.

Damn. He was getting that feeling all over again. Not for Jolie particularly. She could make any ones stomach and body go into a revolt of epic proportions at the first drop. However she smelled like a few sins waiting to happen. The scent that marked him for many reasons stayed with him while the shift of his broad shoulders worked the black linen business shirt over his body into a more tolerable position. Closing up the built in custom laptop in front of him, his hand guided it to flip up from beneath then close into the back of the drivers seat.

“Mr. West.” The short and formal greeting was how he preferred it while on the clock. He gave a nod to Harris. The dutiful chauffeur driving the rolling high end office was the epitome of his job expectation.
“Take the rest of the night off, Harris.” The long steps taken by the tall killer had him around the back of the car and up on the same sidewalk that Jolie had disappeared from. “If I need you or the car I will call.”
“As you wish.” The stiff and proper form of the driver had seemed to melt away. A lift of his right arm revealed a sparkling watch that went with the job he found rather profitable and comfortable. “I shall be back tomorrow evening as expected.”

Lyonel was making his way through the lobby when he found the bouquet of sweetness that Jolie left behind overcome by another. Something that was so familiar to him that his body warmed as he continued to step through. It was not long and there he found the source. Beautiful, golden hair, resting over a sharp blue suit complimented the lack of color to her flawless complexion. The contrast was well planned and executed. It spoke to the eyes of the killer changing his path to get to her instead. In this case attentive and appreciative celadon orbs. He could not resist her.

“Hiring?”

He observed her casual position where she was and the corners of his mouth turned up with his decision. Giving no warning while she mentioned she had nothing to wear he leaned over her so that his right hand could slide between the business quality material covering her bottom and the upholstery of the lobby chair. Effortlessly he pulled her upward and over his shoulder not caring in the least how it looked to those who couldn't resist gawking.

“Why hire when the real thing is right here.” He chuckled while pulling out his cell to make a call. “You sure as hell don’t want me helping you dress, darlin’. I am still hiding my lucky green leisure suit from my wife. And as for Elvis, well, haven’t you heard? I can put that man to shame. He has nothing on me.” The wait was only a few steps worth when the call he made was answered. “Hey, can you do me a favor?”

The brief pause was just enough time to step into the elevator. His hand holding the cell pressed a finger to the button that would send them up to the 18th floor. As the steel cage ascended he briefly thought of the first place they all inhabited, all the fun they had. So much had changed, yet so much that most important remained solid.

“Fine, can you do me another favor, Sweets?” He knew Jolie would be cringing as soon as he said it. “Call up that designer friend of yours who makes house calls. Have her bring a little of everything to the penthouse. It is on me. We have a few needing to be dressed for this party Eva is throwing on VEGAS.” The door slid and he stepped out pocketing the cell.

“So, about you and that closet of yours…” He used his key to unlock the single door on the floor in front of him and stepped inside with her. “I’m going to take care of that. As devastating as your little red dress is we need to save a few hearts at the party.” With that said he playfully dropped her to the leather sofa with a grin. “Now where the hell is the rest of this family?”
Lyonel stepped around the side of the furniture and hit the music to play what would get the killer in the festive mood needed. Within seconds he was dancing like Elvis at his prime. No move of the hips or snap of the fingers was to be spared. His voice needed some work but the passion was there.“VIVA LAS VEGAS!”
