Sunday the 19th of June was forecast to be a lovely day, followed by a lovely evening - and so Robert and those in Solace had been hard at work for the last week, organising a bit of a party. It had been too long since something fun had happened on a large scale for the residents and the community, so they'd taken it upon themselves to arrange something. At first, it was just going to be a little BBQ, but with Robert involved - it soon grew to so much more than that. He had it arranged that Belle would be in charge of the event throughout the day, while he would take over once the sun had receded below the horizon. So much effort, so much work, and finally it was all coming together.
His shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbow, he walked around the area on the Saturday night - well, early Sunday morning before the sun rose, and surveyed it all. The grounds of the Sanctuary had been totally rearranged from how they normally were, and new structures sprang up left and right. The Sanctuary herself sat in the middle of the area, with a 6' high hedge that ran around three sides of it to separate the grounds from the wood. She was a large building, with multiple floors, but built beautifully out of reclaimed logs and then covered in natural moss and grass so that it wasn't an eyesore in the middle of the woods. The fourth side had a river that ran straight up to it, pooling in a deep dip before running off underground somewhere. The whole of the ground floor wall here was made of tinted glass, so that you couldn't see in - but could see out. This allowed those in the meditation and yoga suite, as well as the salon and gym to look out on the natural landscape.
Where the playpark usually sat, was now a large waterslide and flume stucture, ending at the natural pool which had had heaters added to ensure the water was warm for any who chose to swim. To the rear of the property was; a giant, multistorey bouncy castle - an inflatable wrestling ring complete with fat suits - a large trampoline - An inflatable bungee run - and for those more daring, an assault course that ran from the rear all the way down the side towards the front of the Sanctuary, which included a large climbing wall and an abseil off the other side. He watched as the final preparations were made to the final activity outside, and the zipline from the second floor was secured down the road - so they'd fly down and along the river, across the road, to land on a large foam pad. Meanwhile, the whole of the front area had been taken up by a line of BBQs that he quickly counted to ensure there were enough. With 9 of them counted, he was satisfied that they'd managed to find enough to cook the food he suspected he'd need, though with the little stalls and carts he'd arranged to come over from the funfair he was confident there was more than enough food!
He pulled his phone out, thinking about the funfair, and checked his emails - smiling when he saw the one from the manager, confirming that the performers he'd requested from the circus would indeed be attending both the day and night segments of the event to entertain people. Clowns, jugglers, fire breathers, stilt walkers, tightrope walkers and more were all going to be milling about within the crowds to make sure everyone was having a good time - human and vampire alike.
He headed inside and looked around at all of the sports equipment that had been set out; bowling, table tennis, indoor mini and crazy golf, boules, even the gokart track down the corridor at the back had been set up and ready to go. Finally, he checked the blood supplies in the fridge in the kitchen, ensuring there was something for everyone and that all tastes had been catered for. Satisfied that all was in order, he settled himself down with the paper and finished his mug of blood, smiling as he saw the advert he'd placed advertising tomorrow. That, along with the posters and flyers he and the others had been handing out around the city as well as leaving on trains, buses, and in cafes should have got word out so that there would be a good crowd of people here when gates opened at 10am.
Happy, he washed up his cup and set it on the drainer, put the paper into the recycling, and then headed upstairs to find his wife and get a good day's sleep before his shift the next night.
((Feel free to jump on in anytime you like, I've split the thread into day and night as I figured it would be too complicated and confusing trying to do both in one thread, or missing out the day which might cut out any humans that might want to RP. In this thread, I'll be RP'ing Robert, and Belle will probably have left for the night. I've had to take a bit of poetic license and I've presumed nothing untoward has happened in the dayevent that has meant that Robert has had to be woken and dragged out to deal with something. So hopefully I'm right, and this doesn't turn into an inconsistent nightmare. XD
You're completely welcome to join both threads if it fits for your charrie, and there are loads of NPCs around to play with if you like. Feel free to PM me with questions, or hit up the Solace thread in RP planning. Have fun! ))
His alarm went off and he rolled over with a grunt, annoyed at having been woken so unceremoniously. However, as the noises from downstairs and outside filtered through, he smiled and remembered what had been happening today. Quickly, he dragged himself from his bed - trying not to disturb the Mrs - and all but ran into the shower. It was possibly the fastest shower he'd ever had,and it wasn't long before he was dried anddressed in his usual black jeans and a jewel tone shirt - blue today. Black socks and black shiny shoes were added to finish the look, and then off he went, down to join the party and see who all had turned up from the different communities that graced Harper Rock.
