18 years old.
Life ended at 18 years. What a drag!!
The small, lithe brunette wandered through the streets, chewing her lower lip in thought. What sort of madness could she inspire tonight? What kind of mischief?
That was just it... She had no idea! None about her condition or what could be done with it at all! She was just a kid with a brain for hacking and a bit of espionage. With a groan, the girl-child walked into the nearest cafe, looking for a computer to set her mind to, rather than muse over the strange events that led her to unlife. Her sire hadn't even reached out or anything...
What to do, what to do... Myka had no idea.

Re: Obsessive Devotion [OPEN]
The cafe was just down the road from Lancaster's. It was one of the businesses who, once a week, hosted a soup kitchen for the homeless of the city - a venture that they'd asked businesses around-a-bout to invest in, and help with. Lancaster donated both his money and his time to many of the soup kitchens in the area - he even started one himself, outside of Lancaster's, once a week. They all had a schedule. Each night, the homeless of the area had somewhere to go for food.
The lanky musician stepped into the cafe; not because it was their night to sell soup or because he was there to help out, but he had to talk to the manager about a few things. The change in weather, for one. Soon, it wasn't going to be as cold and maybe they could do with a change of menu.
The manager was busy with something in his office; while he waited, Lancaster settled in front of one of the computers; he logged in to check his emails. Work emails - personal emails were generally always just full of junk mail.

Re: Obsessive Devotion [OPEN]
She'd hefted that dirty messenger bag from her shoulder to the floor beside a computer terminal, deep blue eyes tired as she looked at the screen. Deft fingers typed her login as she quickly checked her emails.
No work. No word from the person who'd made her. Myka wondered if that girl even knew... most likely not. Or at least didn't care. Fair enough. She'd do it on her own then. After all, the 18 year old girl had been on her own for a few years, by this point, what was a century or so more?

Re: Obsessive Devotion [OPEN]
Nikolae Dragomir didn't much come to these places anymore - not since he'd placed a computer in the Temple and learned to access the crownet with his mind. That was a bizarre trick, and it left him painfully vulnerable when he did it. Nothing like a sneak attack while ones mind was connected to a vampires-only internet. Still, now and then he popped by these places if for nothing else than to see if his former acquaintances had come by again.
The hadn't. He nearly sighed. Immortality was an odd thing, though, and perhaps they would return to the town again some night. He ambled to the message board near the door, flipping through the various business postings with a scoff now and then.
"Oh come on. Vampire hunters united? You've gotta be kidding me." He grumbled loudly, and snatched the little piece of paper down with a look of disgust. What the hell had this town come to, lately, and what the hell would be coming next?

Re: Obsessive Devotion [OPEN]
The thing with Elliot Lancaster was that he wasn't too great at the whole technology thing. The majority of his life had been spent travelling the world, and he'd communicated with his mother via snail mail. She'd preferred it that way, though most of her replies were lost to the void. He called her from payphones - he loved his mother, but she could keep him on the phone for hours if allowed. If he had the excuse of running out of change, he at least had an excuse to leave. Harsh, but true - more true these days than ever before. Oh, how he missed her, and the banana bread she used to make them every Sunday.
So when the emails failed to load, he had no idea what was going on. The computer had simply dropped off the network and needed to be reconnected to the internet, but Lancaster had no idea where to look. Though he, too, had the ability to connect to the internet with his mind, it wasn't something he enjoyed. At all. A growl of frustration rumbled in his throat, before the Australian was forced to address the woman beside him. She, too, looked like she was checking emails.
"Excuse me. Sorry," he said, his Australian accent broad. "Do you know how to make this work?" he asked. She looked young enough. The young always knew how to work technology, didn't they? Over his shoulder, he heard a man loudly mutter something about vampire hunters. Lancaster arched a brow, but said nothing, taking in the guy's appearance but doing nothing otherwise.

Re: Obsessive Devotion [OPEN]
She'd been paying attention to her surroundings. Living on the street tended to ingrain that sort of behavior in a person. So the man grumbling about Vampire Hunters United caught her interest and had deep blue eyes turning to watch. Vampire hunters were real... which meant she was real... which meant it had really happened. She was among the dead now, with nothing and no one to stand in her way or stop her.
The question beside her made the 18 year old jump ever so slightly, surprised by the accent and the man it attached to. A quick, cursory glance over his screen had her brow creasing in thought.
"Uh.... Yeah.... Looks like your LAN cable got jostled out of place... that or the Ethernet card has gone belly up... Let me just check here," She said, a pale hand reaching around the back of the tower to expertly feel around for the cable in question. Sure enough, the cable was just to the left of center, out of place, and a quick motion had it plugged back in properly. "There ya go. Back up and running."
Her hand pulled back as the other tucked a few strands of a blue dyed streak behind her ear, bringing with it the edge of the cable. There was a small look of dismay at it. "They really need to look into upgrading the cables. These older ones have a bad habit of blipping out and getting mad brittle over the years. Makes it super easy for them to come lose."
It was a polite way of making conversation at least.
