Cat on a Hot Tin Roof 2.0 [Aaron Hunter]

Post by Eureka »

OOC: Backdated to July 16th, 2015

Eureka, for hours at a time, completely forgot about her snack in the middle of the apartment below her wake-up spot. For hours at a time she didn’t think about the male with wide, curious brown eyes. And when she did remember, when the scene replayed herself in her mind, she completely dismissed the way he had looked at her, the way he seemed to dote. Humans complicated these kinds of things; men and women didn’t admit to their attractions, and even when they knew they were attracted to each other, they still fucked things up, somehow. It was a lack of communication.

Eureka was aware of Aaron’s attractions on a basic level, and she knew, deep down, that she reciprocated. And yet, there was every reason to be wary; to show a male who was boss. To show him that he couldn’t get what he wanted as soon as he wanted it. These were the things that Eureka told herself now, of course, though her reasons for running away ran far deeper. The fear that he would want to control her, and that he might actually be able to succeed where the others had failed.

She went to sleep in an abandoned house nearer the edge of the city; it looked like it could have once been used as a hunting lodge before the city expanded and overtook it, useless now for what it was first intended. And yet, it was overgrown, hidden behind lush overgrowth and vines, dank and dark in a way suited to one such as Eureka. It was where she settled most nights, now, though she knew she would return to the rooftop.

If she truly were an animal, however, down to her deepest roots, she wouldn’t have been thinking about Aaron as the sun came up and she drifted into slumber. She wouldn’t have gone to sleep telling herself that he was something that she wanted – and she should be allowed to have something that she wanted. Just because she wanted it didn’t mean that it could control her. The fear that she had felt was a fleeting thing; an anxiety built from distrust and a violent disapproval of men who thought women were beneath them. In the animal world, it was often the other way around.

She did not dream when she slept, and she woke as per usual on the rooftop upon which she had been turned. The tent was still in pieces; she had not had the opportunity to finish building it the night before, and thus is offered her no shelter, as its purpose had been. Luckily, it was not raining. The sky was mostly clear. Any other night, she might have rolled onto her back to stare, to spend a good ten to fifteen minutes picking shapes in the clouds or creating her own constellations. Up here, there was less light pollution, and her preternatural gaze could pick out more of the gaseous giants sparkling in the velvet sky.

Tonight, however, as soon as she woke up she was on her guard. Slowly, she rolled onto her hands and knees, crouched and bent low, gaze sweeping the rooftop. It was still early, however. Aaron might not yet have stirred from his bed, what with the sun still peeking only just over the edges of the horizon.

Whatever Eureka’s reservations (or her newfound determinations) she still wanted to build her tent. So, given that the rooftop, for now, was hers alone, she continued with her task. This time, she had a better grasp on how to get it done. The poles clicked together and slid through the loopholes of the tent’s material, pulling it all upright. She worked quickly, tension thrumming through her expectant limbs; she did not once allow her back to be to the rooftop’s entrance, and every five seconds she would glance up.

If, by the time she had finished, he had not come to her, she determined that she would go to him. There were no boundaries. As far as she was concerned, now that he had already invited her into his home, that home was now hers, too.

The last flap was secured just as Aaron burst out onto the rooftop. The man had made no attempt to hide his coming; Eureka knew he was coming as soon as he crawled out the window, his steps thunderous upon the metal rungs of the fire escape. She straightened as soon as he arrived; she was still wearing the shirt that she had stolen. Her expression was tilted down toward the tent, a content and inquisitive smile upon her features – as if she was proud of her tent, her little home upon this roof. As if Aaron should be proud of it, too.

And yet, she hadn’t hoped that he would come to the roof so that she could show him her good work. It wasn’t the tent that she wanted to show off. Instead, she was eager to see the expression on his face, to see whether he wanted her there or not. What she was greeted with was an enthusiasm unlike what she had expected. Like she was something he thought he had lost, only to be found again. Like a ghost come back from the dead.

Eureka wasted no time in approaching. Very slowly, her bare feet making no sound on the dew-wet roof. She could tell that his dressing had been hasty – or maybe he’d dressed slow but had paid no attention to what he was doing. Eureka stood in front of him, this fool of a man who was so transfixed. It fed her ego, to think that she was the one who had him transfixed thus. Dirty fingers pawed at the shirt that had been donned the wrong way around. The temptation was there, to rip it, to shred it from his torso. There were a couple of choice teasings on the tip of her tongue but none were uttered.

This was the decision that Eureka had come to. This was her roof, and the apartment beneath would be hers, too. Which meant, anybody who lived within the apartment would be hers – and she could not at all be disappointed with the offerings. He was a little too civilised for her tastes, but as could have been deduced by her efforts the night before, that could be changed. For a meal, he had turned as wild as she was. He had done her proud.

Now, she wanted to claim him properly. Her palm flattened first against his shoulder before she tugged, her fingers curled into the cloth of the back-to-front shirt. She pushed herself up onto her toes and, without any foreplay, without any warning or comment, she kissed him. Her tongue swiped at his lower lip, forcing his mouth to open to hers. It was a chaste kiss, a hurried kiss regardless of its passionate undertones. One foot left the ground as her knee bent, wanting to lift herself, too hook said knee over Aaron’s hip, coaxing, encouraging him to wrap his arms around her and carry her weight. Her lips traversed the roughness of his jaw, perpetually sharp canines nipping at the skin just below the ear.

Much like the cat she had claimed as her spirit animal, Eureka rubbed her cheek against his. The way she curled herself against him was graceful and lithe, her fingers knotted into his hair as she granted him the gift of proximity. He ought to feel special, this one. The only one of his kind.

Eureka had indeed claimed Aaron as her own. Her flag had very thoroughly been planted upon this roof, and upon the apartment beneath it – and everything inside of that apartment, including this hunk of flesh whose strong hands now had possessive hold of her. If Eureka had done any claiming, it was pretty obvious that Aaron was now doing the same, reciprocating in kind. Eureka didn’t mind. If she hadn’t been the one to initiate, she might have had something to say. As it was, she didn’t have the ability to say anything. Her lips were tied. As was her tongue. As was her whole body.

The sensation of strong hands holding her, caressing her, touching her was a foreign concept. Eureka had never been touched with this kind of intimacy; the kind that she wanted, rather than the kind that was just taken. Heat radiated from her core. Not a physical heat, because that was entirely lacking in the cold body of a vampire. But it was heat nonetheless; an indescribable thrum that hitched a ride through her veins, pumped out to her extremities, forcing a rushed kind of desperation for something she never knew she wanted.

An ordinary woman might have broken away. She might have suggested they go downstairs, out of the open air. She might have sought soft pillows and feathery blankets. But Eureka wasn’t an ordinary woman, and she didn’t seek the creature comforts that a home could offer her. There was a fully formed tent behind them. And they didn’t even need the tent. **** the tent. The cold hard ground would do just find. Eureka wasn’t frivolous. She wasn’t fluffy. She didn’t cling to material things, nor was she particularly sentimental.

So what if it was her first time with an actual man? So what if she’d just met him the night before? At heart, Eureka was an animal, and when an animal felt a connection to another animal, due to the right kind of pheromones at the right time of the month, then she would have that other animal. One hand still hooked behind Aaron’s neck, the other pushed pale and cold fingers up under his shirt. Her Aaron. Her sweet, clueless man. Oh, how she couldn’t wait to take him out – to find some more hapless victims to share with him. Sharing. That wasn’t a word in her vocabulary, but look at her now. She wanted to share.

Sharp canines nipped at Aaron’s lower lip; hard enough to draw blood. She hummed, satisfied, her body wriggling in his grasp. Impatient. She wanted to push him around. She wanted to tear his clothes off. She wanted to do all the things that instinct was screaming at her to do – even if she couldn’t exactly procreate anymore. She didn’t have to pull away to tell him what she wanted. Her body told him all that it needed to.

Eureka was fuelled by desperation. Up until this point she had never felt so attracted. Never before had she felt lust quite like this – unless it was to be compared to the lust for blood. But that was an entirely different beast. Hunger for nourishment was a requirement, but hunger for Aaron – for his touch, for his skin, for his kiss – was something else entirely. It wasn’t a requirement, but something so much more.

Although Eureka was beyond showing any kind of hesitation, at first she was a little meek. As soon as the clothes were off, as soon as Aaron had her on her back and she knew what came next, she had to claw at him to make sure he went slow. For all her forwardness and her haste, Eureka didn’t know what came next. It wasn’t something that she had experienced before. Where she would consider herself the leader in everything else, in this, Aaron had to show the way. Soft words were whispered in his ear, near-silent gasps of command as she educated him about her lack of education. Afterwards, her fate was in his hands.

And Eureka was not disappointed.

Though she did not have any other experience to compare this one to, she gave herself up. She sacrificed herself to Aaron, and gave him her trust. As soon as she’d decided to let him in, she let him in completely. His skilled fingers elicited sharp cries and lower moans, and when they were done she urged him to start all over again. She couldn’t get enough. They started at the beginning of the night, and stopped mere hours from dawn. Finally exhausted, Eureka lay with Aaron, comfortable despite her hunger and still despite her usual restlessness.

The redhead lay sprawled over Aaron’s chest, one leg tossed over his, her head on his shoulder, her fingers drawling lazy circles across his chest. Red lips were curved into a contented smile, her hair released from its bounds and loose over her shoulders. Although she never brushed it, there was something about being a vampire; the hair was always healthy, so long as she fed every night. It was smooth, and most of the knots undid themselves – except for a few snarled monsters that would need a good brush.

”…we should go inside,” she said, her voice deep and lazy. She shifted, slowly, equally as lazy, her limbs heavy as she settled over Aaron, her arm crossed over his chest and her chin resting on her arm.

”We can’t fall asleep out here. We’ll get burned. And I feel like a shower. Or a bath. Nice and hot,” she said with wide, mischievous grin. Already, she was claiming the place as her own. With the suggestions hinted, deftly placed, she used Aaron as a platform to push herself up and into a standing position. Still completely naked, she stretched much like a happy cat. She was not shy, nor would she ever be shy around Aaron again.

Nudging him with her foot, she shot him a wink before meandering toward the fire escape. She didn’t care if the neighbours were peaking out their windows. She didn’t care if someone from the street happened to look up and see a naked woman climbing down the ladder. She would enter Aaron’s apartment through the window. For Eureka, that was the normal thing to do.

Already as nude as the day she was born, Eureka went straight to the bathroom. The lights were brighter than she liked – she preferred taking her showers in the rain. Sometimes that wasn’t feasible, however, given it was snowing half the time. Showers, she could admit, were a luxury. As she sashayed into the tiled bathroom, she flicked the lights off. The light from the main rooms of the apartment filtered in, which gave them at least enough light to wash by. They were vampires. They didn’t need much light.

Almost as soon as she turned the shower’s knobs, the small space began to fill with steam. This was the luxury – the heat. It hit her stone-cold skin and softened it, the warmth seeping into the freckled array and peeling all the grit and grime from her red hair. The voice behind her had her turning, slowly, unsurprised. All permissions had been granted on that rooftop, and she wasn’t about to be shoving Aaron from the shower now.

Eureka’s body would reveal the numerous tattoos she’d had done over the years; the mandala between her shoulder blades, a similar one drooped between her breasts. Colourful portraits and riff-raff filled one-armed sleeve, too many to point out. Her favourite would have to be the dagger adorning her shin, mere black ink but stark regardless, given the porcelain hue of her skin. Wet fingers slid over the contours of Aaron’s torso, one small step bringing the cat’s body closer to that of her beau.

Her head canted to the side as he caught her gaze, his hand a comfort against her jaw. His eagerness became immediately obvious and a smile lit Eureka’s eyes as a low laugh rumbled in her chest, bottom lip tugged between sharp teeth – those canines of her never receding. Eureka’s hips swayed, teasing Aaron even as the water cleansed them of their previous fun.

”You want us to be rabbits?” she asked, tipping her head back beneath the spray, tugging Aaron along with her. Her fingers reaching behind his neck, pushing herself up onto the tips of her toes so that she could kiss him, his lips tasting like the water that tried, in vain, to separate them.

But she would not say no. She would always say yes, consequences be damned. Though, Aaron would have to teach her the ways of the civilized – the body they had left, drained, would stay right where it was if Eureka were responsible for it. The smell wouldn’t even both her. It could rot, flesh peeling away and eat by the maggots until all that was left were tattered clothes, stringy hair and bones. He would have to force her to shower, to try to be clean. And maybe he’d have some success, too. Maybe all Eureka needed was someone to tame her, someone who she would listen to. Her sire had failed, as had Niklaus, and no one else had tried.

And each night she would wake up in the same place, on the same roof – and she’d come right back down and curl up in the bed next to her Aaron. She was his. And if anyone else touched him, they’d have one pissed off cat to deal with.
