The Power of Music ((Leon))

Post by Dawn Chekov »

She was on a roll, Dawn was out again. Twice, in a week. She had already finished work and was ready to get out of her mind for a bit. Still feeling the power of her last feed, Dawn didn't feel the need to eat anyone but not only that, she didn't have the clawing pain that she got when she went too long without feeding. Her bright blue eyes traveled around the city as she walked through the cool streets. Around her she had one of her favorite white fur coats, her long white hair blending into the coat so well that it was hard to figure out where one started and the other began.

This night though, instead of stopping into the Pub she had before, this time she found herself standing before a club. A dance club from the sound of the music. This made her smile brightly, flashing a bit of fang before she made her way in. She shrugged out of her coat and checked it before making her way deeper into the club. It was then that she realized, she had been here before, almost a year back if she remembered correctly. She remembered someone singing dressed as Elvis. That had been interesting.

She smoothed out the pink and glittery top she had been wearing then slid her hands into her black and white jeans, the harlequin design making the white almost look like diamonds on the pants. In fact, she had bedazzled the pants, so that every point actually had little gemstones on it. It made her sparkly! Just how she loved it. After all, she was a girly type of girl. Her blue eyes traveled to the bar and she contemplated ordering a drink, but there was just something about the music that was playing. It was almost a siren's song to her.

Dawn moved onto the dance floor and began to move to the music, her eyes closing, her arms lifting in the air a bit as she swayed this way and that on her dangerously high platform heels that brought her up to a 'normal' height. She was good at moving in those types of shoes.

Leon had been walking trough the street for a while now, its wasn't a matter of being lost or looking for something, in this moment it was about the thrill of discovery and using his sight, it didn't had to be anything secret or even something amazing but only be there to be found. it sounded crazy yes but for Leon many things to be found, discovered and admired were lost just in base of being among a sea of common sights. it was like this how he found the club, wondering if being turned had impeded him from enjoying the lightheartedness that came with liquor he headed in.

A few hours had passed, Leon wasn't specially worried about the coming of dawn as the sun, now the bane of his existence had just sank trough the horizon when he left his temporary hideout, he didn't felt the cold of early night when he was heading to the club wearing only a pair of black jeans, a shirt that emphasized his strong toned body without clinging to it and his trusty leather jacket. he had been drinking strong rum non stop from the past hour surprised the staff werent alarmed at all, Leon was grinning at the idea of faking a alcohol intoxication faint just to see their faces before they noticed the farce.

Another thirty minutes had passed he let a frustrated grunt as he now had been sitting longer than before and he only had a light dizziness, proving his newfound resistance to alcohol, Leon had cracked locks open in a more inebriated state like this. it was then just when he was about to pay up and dive back into the city streets that he saw a woman walk in, a holder of vast beauty to his eyes, he observed her flowing white hair emphasized by movement on the dance floor, elegant as the flowing water on a crystal clear lake. while gazing her skillful movement the opportunity to test how much alcohol really affected Leon by dancing presented itself to him.

With a confident stride Leon moved closer making sure to keep a respectful distance then beginning to move slowly, dancing, while smiling at her moving to the music amazed at how she could move so well with those shoes then finally speaking making sure his words weren't as rough as his facial expressions did look most of the time even if his dancing was actually good if not compared to the woman "mind if i join?"

Dawn had been lost in her own little world as she had moved this way and that, her long hair swaying to her movements which were perfectly timed to the beat of the song. So when she heard a male voice out of no where, she jumped slightly and ended up actually stumbling a little before she looked up at him and smiled brightly, her fangs flashing in that moment. "Of course you can, handsome!" She said with a cheery tone, her Russian accent thickening just a little. Though she had stumbled slightly in surprise, she was able to get back on beat easily, moving up a little closer to the large male. He really was quite large, at least in comparison to her smaller stature.

So when she looked up, she looked up at him, baring her long, pale neck in that moment. Her skin was smooth and thin, anyone looking at her really would think that she was a vampire. Only, she had a pulse, she had warmth in her skin, and when she was fed well like she had been recently, she was able to blush, something that didn't happen often but she was currently doing now. Despite the minor slip she had had, she kept her confidence, especially in the way that she moved to the music and with her new dance partner.

Leaning in a little, she held out her hand to him and smiled a bit more, "I'm Dawn."

If the woman was dancing so skillfully from all the way over there in the bar from here closer to her it was fascinating, it looked not like a dancer to the music but the music was adapting to her movements instead, when he extended his invitation to dance she jumped a little stopping the prodigious waltz making him crack a smile, then like if it was instinctual going back at it again. Leon nodded and moving closer while dancing making sure his movement matched her fluid movements, Leon couldnt dance as powerfully as her but at the very least he had some moves to accompany her, smiling as at least aesthetically they matched with the differing sizes.

Her go ahead to dance with him was received by him with a smile and a nod her skin as flawless as with her fanged smile, they had been dancing trough the whole introduction Leon wondering about the gal cute blush, Leon ignored that she was blushing in favor that it was completely adorable, they just med for him to go poking where he didn't lost anything his and mostly she made a great partner in the dance floor, even the minor slip had washed away as her steps were now even more solid as they had been before, Leon lowly slowed down his movement as the music ended, the other people in the floor leaving to their table to talk or get more drinks leaving Leon with her extending her slender delicate hand and a introduction.

"Leon, nice to have the name of such an splendid dancer, may I invite you for a drink?" he said with a playful wink, Leon led the way to the bar while he deliberated about Dawn's melodic accent, surely it was heard before and sure after a few seconds in which he had sat close to her on the bar and called the bartender he knew it was Russian, Leon had heard it many times but on Dawn it indeed sounded melodious.

Dawn smiled at him, continuing to dance until he invited her to get a drink. He didn't leave her much time to answer, but she had to admit, there was a small part of her that had liked that about him. He seemed to go after what he wanted no matter what. That could be a good trait, sometimes. The mentioning of the drink though had drew her eyes momentarily towards his throat. He was a tall man though, so there was no way she could really get to there without his help. Then she glanced over to the bar as she had followed along with him towards it.

When she sat down, her eyes turned towards the bar, looking at all the bottles lined up against the back in a pretty display of shimmering lights and liquids, and it all was just so appealing to the eyes. It was only when the bartender showed that she spoke. "I'll have a White Russian." Then she looked to Leon and giggled a little "I am willing to bet that you could have guessed I would have ordered that." She wasn't exactly creative when it came to drinks. Mostly because she wasn't a big drinker. Alcohol had a bad effect on her hunger, on her disease, bringing on that clawing feeling that she got whenever she needed blood. Her eyes closed for a moment at the thought of blood and then she looked back at Leon and smiled softly, not caring that her fangs were on display.

"So, since I haven't seen you around before, I am pretty sure you are new to this city. Am I right?" She asked with her sweet voice, one finger tracing a nick in the bar that had left a light line in the dark wood.

While Dawn was gazing at the various bottle lined up in the wall behind the bartender Leon made his order so hers wouldn't be delayed "ill have a glass of rum, no ice" after making sure with a polite movement of his hand that the bartender came back quickly for Dawns's order Leon then turned back his attention to Dawn her attention to how the several bottles gave an aesthetic pleasure making him raise his opinion of her, after all for him it was a conscious effort to find anything that gave him the thrill of discovery, for that Leon found admirable the mental strength to keep everything on a new light instead of growing jaded.

"Yes i could have predicted that but i didn't, after all isn't more fun to just find it than having it spoiled like a good book?" Leon said still puzzled how Dawn could be a vampire and still look so vital, his hand twitched a bit almost touching her healthy looking cheek most out of curiosity than anything else but he held back and nodded to the bartender who finally got them his drinks, When Dawn smiled so perfectly Leon couldn't help but smile back his own fangs showing on a friendly manner or as friendly as he could as rough looking he was.

Dawn had asked him about his recent arrival to the city, She was obviously right and he wasn't one to deny it just to impress her, he didn't care and he rather be honest not out of honesty but out the knowledge that lies pile up and crush you more rapidly than anyone thinks. also he enjoyed a bit her melodically accent before answering "You got that right Dawn, there's still a lot i don't know but im not particularity hating this place" then with a grin he added "specially with company such as yourself"

She smiled at his description, making it seem like she was a good book. The tender was quick with their drinks and soon she was tapping her long and pointed nails against the glass gently as he spoke. There was something about the male that drew her in, and she didn't know if it was the fact that she had not fed in a while or if it was just the way he spoke, the way he seemed to be so different from all the other people in this city. He also didn't seem to care about hiding in shadows like so many did. Even those that she fed off from time to time wished to do so secretly because they feared what would happen if all humans found out about them.

His complement brought another smile to her face, as well as a light blush before she nodded. "The city does grow on people. I myself have only been living here two years. Though, I have to admit, with the right people as company, this place grows on you faster than most." She lifted her drink and took a slow slip of the creamy drink, when she pulled it back, a small drop of her drink lingered behind on her lower lip, however, she soon was licking it away. She smiled and leaned against the bar, "So tell me about yourself, Leon." She asked as she looked him over once more.

Leon gazed at Dawn as her delicate hands played with the glass after taking a small sip of it, he fiddled with his with his big hands from time to time moving it around and enjoying the scent, for the rest of the beings beside him and Dawn he was drinking it slowly but Leon was only projecting the illusion of actually drinking the rum, it was one of the many tricks he had picked up before he had arrived to the city, Dawn looked as radiant sitting with him as she did on the dance floor, He decided to answer her inquiry honestly after all he didn't care much what others would think or if he was being pursued.

"Be warned Dawn its nothing exiting" Leon Began to speak with his gruff voice focusing his attention at Dawns reactions as he began to tell the tale of how before finding himself as a vampire Leon lived in New York, his only family a younger brother just starting a family, even if Leon was welcome he decided to make space for his coming niece and live on his own, he had friends who set him up as a back alley quote-unquote doctor, he didn't mind and pulling out bullets and setting bones straight was easy and a quick buck to help lil niece have a better place in life then him and his young bro, he then shrugged at dawn "you know how it is, you try to be neutral but soon you fix one guy that somebody else wants to stay dead" Leon then did the unexpected of such history and laughed loudly "i just packed and left niece a stuffed panda full of hundreds and skipped town, the rest you see it here" Leon then gave Dawn a wink "nothing much i can do in a city where everyone has self-healing powers but not getting shot by every young new thug is a big plus"

Dawn's brow rose ever so slightly, at the warning, but that was soon followed by the corners of her lips curling up and the amusement causing her eyes to almost glimmer in the light. Her fingers continued to trace the rim of her glass as he began to speak of his life before this city, before he had become what he had. She had to admit - at least to herself - it was amusing to see a vampire so willing to admit what they were. She, she was a vampire of a different sort, but most of the vampires in this city - especially those that willingly fed her - chose to hide in shadows and shame, chose to keep themselves secret from the world. His life, from what he had said, sounded like quite the interesting one. Of course, there was always the whispers that the mafia was still very much in control of New York. It was the same kind of whispers that lead to those of vampires in Harper Rock. Some people believed, some people didn't, some people were gloriously blind to the idea.

She smiled a bit more, lifting her drink and taking a sip of it for a moment before she decided to speak once again. "You say your life hasn't been exciting, however, I beg to differ. Things sounded very interesting before you came here, you have a point though, not much call for a doctor sort for those of whom can heal within the night. However, there are always those who still can't, and then there are also those that still do need to be healed. And I am sure there are other things you can and will find to do with this city. After all, this city is filled with so much. For everyone. For those who walk in the light, and those who walk in the night." She winked and smiled brightly, her fangs on display for a moment. Then she looked about the club and smirked a bit.

"You just have to know where to look, what to do will come eventually."

Leon Smiled at Dawns wink and smirked back raising his glass for a short toast like acknowledgement at her words, then setting down the glass with a nod he paid his tab and her drink in full "ill keep my eyes open, after all i got only an eternity to do it, what do you say if we take a walk nearby before they notice we only have been moving around a single glass" He then took a look around, the metronome club was still pretty lively but Leon was in the mood for some fresh air and unlike taking Dawn from the dance floor he this time waited for her input, after all he was okay if they stayed or not.

"Well while you decide about that, its time for you to face the music Dawn" Leon added with a grin "same question, tell me about your lovely self" He knew its was only fair to get at least a but of her story, after all he did told her all of his,for Leon didn't particularly matter if she decide it not to share whichever bad histories Dawn had, they just had met, and maybe Dawn wasn't like him who sometimes never cared about reservations or sensibilities but he had learned to respect them in others, so What Dawn chose to tell him was fine by him.
