A Stitch away from ...

Post by Mortll »

Mortll moaned in her sleep her head moved back and forth and she awoke with a start her skin felt hot and flushed ,and embarassment washed over her followed by anger... "Why the ****" she groaned to no one ... he was still in her head and in her dreams in the worst way. She just wanted to be rid of him. Why wouldnt her head let her.

Emotions were a dangerous thing she wanted to be rid of hers ... How he could so easily shove his aside and pretend they never existed she did not know but she was envious of it. She shoved hers aside and fought against them every which way possible she tried being nice to him ... she tried hating him ... She even started trying to have him hate her ... Yeah that was a joke that required him feeling something. Like that was going to happen she thought to herself .

She pounded the pillow and tried to go back to sleep but it was a futile task. The moon had risen and the night and hunger was calling her. She slid out of bed and pulled a brush through her dark mass of hair. She quickly pulled it into a pony tail and slid into a simple sheath dress and a killer pair of heals That was a literal thing she had actually had to scrub brain matter off of them one night she had forced the heal through some poor guys eye socket When he had decided to pick the wrong helpless woman victim for his fun .

She dreaded opening the jewelry box she had taken out all the things he had given her and put them away in the safe. The memories still lingered she found simple sliver cross and draped it around her neck and she pulled open the drawer of rings her hand fell on the blood red Garnet surrounded by gold her fingers folded into a fist and she felt like pounding the desk ... but common sense and rational thought were abundant while she was awake .... She wasn't going to let all of this emotion get the better of her she took the ring out and found a box taking to her closet she stuffed it in the back just like she was stuffing him away .

Soon he would be nothing anymore except a bad dream .

What did you do when you have become a monster? Mortll did not know she had become one many years before she had ever set step into Harper Rock and when she was found trying to resurrect dead bodies in a crypt that was a vampires resting place what little bit of humanity that she had clung to was violently ripped away from her, She understood Death like no one else she played with it she studied it occasionally she craved it. It was like a drug calling to her Yes it was the most horrific painful experience you could possibly go through , yet after awhile a kind of familiarity set in. When there was no fear and you knew exactly what was going to happen as you are being ripped apart and damaged to the point of bursting into a pile of ash and blowing away with the breeze It took a lot away from the experience of course it still hurt but you knew the pain was coming you could steel yourself against it. It was kind of like when you got a shot as a child the first 20 or so you dreaded and feared but gradually the fear was gone and you sat there quietly and just took the damn shot Though you would glare at the nurse daring her to hurt you , cause by then you knew when they didn't know what the hell they were doing and causing excess pain .

The thing about Immortality was you always had plenty of time to think and Mortll had found herself doing plenty of that lately the developments with this new relationship had her perplexed . With Charles many things had been easy they were equals on many levels and except for the occasional disagreement it had been a easy relationship on many fronts . Leonitus however was a different story he wasn't cold hard and sharp, He still wore his humanity proudly and boldly, occasionally Mortll awoke feeling as if she had just slept with her lunch. Telling him this would be a huge insult at lest she had enough tact not to say it . She really did love the man She saw many of qualities in him that would only make him stronger and a survivor. No matter how much she knew she loved him and how good of a companion he was she knew that she wasn't in love with him and it nibbled at the back of her mind like maggots in a rotting corpse .

Did she expect to fall in love with him overnight or even a month or half a year No she did not ...So why she kept thinking about it why it stayed on her mind she did not know. Maybe it was her fucked up perceptions of failure and never giving up or letting someone get the better of her that was causing this turmoil in her mind . Her inability to just let things go and let them die a proper death she didn't know

How can you resolve a issue like that when You feel that you didn't do enough that your hands were tied and you were put on the sidelines and the outcome of your life was decided for you. You had to pretty much sit there and watch it play out like some horror flick where your screaming at the dumb blond chick with the big boobs to get in the car and haul *** .

Her business with Charles felt unfinished if felt like She hadn't gotten to speak her say it felt like she had gotten fucked was it his fault that the wife showed back up no ... But Mortll still needed a reckoning and she was going to put something to rest Too bad Doc wasn't going to like it but there were a few things she needed to say that she never got to.

Mortll wasn't normally one to obsess on something in fact most things she could leave alone and abandon quite easily and put it out of her head forever. Lately however she had a problem and it was standing in the way of something she wanted. She had resumed her life after Doc quite successfully she had gotten over her anger and feelings of betrayal squashed them like he little insects that they were worming and wiggling around in her head.

She had fallen into the trap of convenience with Leonitus . She had slept with her childe It had been just the thing at the moment he wanted her and she adored him. He was tall handsome, attentive, hell he was perfect but something kept niggling at her something was eating at her it just wasn't right. She could continue with Nite and have a pleasant little life working on the roses and Jardin together. This itching feeling kept surfacing she wasn't fit to be with anyone right now She wasn't satisfied with herself right now so she had to do what was best for her and her childe and call it off. Surprisingly he was amazingly gracious about it but he had become withdrawn the past month or so and she had the feeling he had not been as ok with it as he had proclaimed.

A sigh escaped her lips as she sat there listening to the music in the tub relaxing trying to make sense of it all. It seemed like all she had been doing lately was breaking and mending fences. The biggest of the fences was Doc.
Doc was still problematic as always She adored the man even if she couldn't be with him all the feelings that had her wanting to be in a relationship were gone. She wanted his friendship she had offered the proverbial olive branch and he had taken it. But as she sat there in his office a strange thing had happed she had focused on his mouth. Her eyes couldn't seem to move away from it. The way he moved his lips every little nuance of it wasn't wasted on her. The thoughts of how those lips felt moving across her lips and skin came flooding back to her.

The longer she sat there trying to make her amends and repair things the angrier she became with herself she could not focus. She did not want the man he had done something that broke her trust in him. She no longer had any type of faith that he would ever do right by her. He may be a great friend and a stand up guy everywhere else even matching her penchant for homicide but some wounds you inflict on another just don't heal right they leave nasty scars that forever remind you of that particular mistake. Doc had left that with Mortll yet here she was having illicit thoughts about those sensuous lips.

Doc was a handsome man he wasn't no overly muscled gargantuan of a man. He had a lean dancers body. He hadn't been turned in his younger years like many of the people running around Harper Rock forever young. There would be a time that this would bite the greater community in the ***. People would notice in 10 years that many of its citizens never aged. Mortll had a plan in the works for her at least for her human front her public front would have several deaths she would have to become a chameleon of sorts to fulfill many lifetimes but that was something for the future.

The thing that was Doc and his face he had a sort of ruggedness to him yet he was refined and well aged none he carried himself with confidence and grace you didn't see in younger men. None of that mattered to Mortll anymore but those lips their softness their hardness the sensual matter in how they moved as she sat there. The line that defined the bow at the top and how it curved . Mortll shook her head and her hair came loose falling into the bubbles soaking it as she tried to rid herself of her minds imagery. What was she going to do with this little obsession of hers so that she could be friends with a man that company she missed .

What would you do for a Klondike bar? Mortlls days of Klondikes had long passed but that question somehow seemed relevant to her. The thing was what was her Klondike bar? What was the one thing she wanted?
That was the magical question. she had been searching for the answer for the last few months and it had been a elusive little ****. Leo had become distant Doc was distant hell it seemed like most of her life everyone had abandoned her except for Tiamat. The curvacious woman that Mortll employed wasnt the touchy feely type she was distant and cool and Mortll admired that to a point .

Mortll had been putting all of her efforts into work lately and had expanded her holdings by two fold recently. She had aquired two new properties. They would fit nicely into her portfolio of business. Everything was running smoothly at the others. She was back to her Norm. Her old stand by comfort spot of being alone. She couldnt help thinking Where was her Klondike bar or was this her destiny to wander through eternity alone .

She missed the companionship of someone that tested her that challenged her.... Where in the hell was she going to find that here in Harper Rock .
