Like a disease [Athena]

Post by Rion »

It was the first time in what seemed like eternity that the Necromancer called in sick to work. It was also the first time that she had given Detective Rodriquez something to use against her. It left a bitter taste in her mouth, and she realized how much she hated him. She knew she always had, of course, but in the moment she heard his snide laugh, the rage had been uncontrollable. She was left with the relieved feeling that she had opted to call instead of showing up to collect her files, because she knew if she had been face to face with him, she’d have to explain to her sire not only why she denied him the pleasure, but why she had revealed their secrets to the entire HRPD. She doubted that she would walk away unscathed from that conversation.

It wasn’t as if she didn’t have a good reason. Granted, it wasn’t a reason he’d understand, but it was one nonetheless. She had made a mistake. It wasn’t just a normal, run of the mill mistake. No, she had to go and royally **** up. The knowledge left her sick to her stomach, but the feeling was nothing compared to the one she got when she thought of her. Her, with her ebony hair and pale skin. Her, with her sharp tongue and piercing eyes. Her mistake. Her torment. Her childe. The word caused her to curl her lip in distaste as she pinched the bridge of her nose. She couldn’t believe she had messed up in such an epic way. She had tried to hide the fact she had recreated, that she had stopped the heart of an innocent from her family, but like the plague, she had seeped into her world.

Now she had to teach her.

She had hoped to get away on the bare minimum, but she should have known better. She had Andras blood in her veins and her sire riding her *** like the overbearing father on prom night. She honestly was surprised her hadn’t started tossing curfews her way every time she stepped out of the hotel. She wanted to say it bothered her, she wanted to keep him at arms-length, but she couldn’t. She found herself wanting to make him proud, to show him that even though she had fucked up, she could fix it. That was the worst thing, because it all rode on her ability to teach – and Athena’s ability to listen. “You better not let me down,” she muttered under her breath as she shoved her blue curls up and secured them with a frayed hair tie. “I’ll be back in a while, Osiris.” She didn’t know why she bothered, honestly. She doubted he’d hear her, his nose buried so far in his crafting table. She could have walked in front of him completely naked, and it still wouldn’t have been enough to catch his eye.

You know that isn’t true.

Shaking the voice from her head, she grabbed her leather jacket and tomed from one hotel to the next. The change was drastic, the bright lights and bustle of the human life fading to the rundown, quiet nest of Andras. She preferred the latter. There wasn’t anyone to bother her, and the shadows offered her a comfort she couldn’t find anywhere else. Releasing an agitated breath, her eyes swept the lobby and her nose crinkled in annoyance. Of ******* course she isn’t where she’s supposed to be. With another agitated sigh, she shoved her hands into the pockets of her jacket and headed for the portal that would lead her to the lobby of the Flats. She had hoped to avoid the place. It wasn’t because of the scent of the gruesome sight of the corpses decayed guts sprayed across the walls and ceiling, but because of how utterly over populated it was. Just walking in the door almost sent the Necromancer into a panic attack.

There wasn’t a way in hell that she was going to go inside anytime soon.

Pulling her phone from the pocket of her jacket, she scrolled through until she found the woman’s name. Her thumb hovered over the message button as doubt entered her thoughts, and she shook her head slowly. She knew what she needed to teach her – she just had no idea where to start. Yes, you do. The second the unfamiliar voice brushed across her ear, the image of the sewers – dark and damp – formed in her mind. Oh, yeah. That would be perfect. With a new found amusement, she quickly typed Meet me outside the flats and shoved her phone back into her jacket.

Perhaps this sire thing wouldn’t be so bad after all.

Athena could feel the energy in her dead body. She wasn't sure how that happened but she could. It was like a light buzzing throughout her entire being and she loved it. The feeling almost made her feel alive again. Maybe it was the way she dipped and dived as she fought the zombies. Or maybe it was watching them die again and using her sword to slice it's ear off. Either way it made her entire body buzz. Rion had instructed Athena to kill these zombies in the QZ and she hated to admit how much she loved every kill she made. She'd never admit to enjoying the natural high it gave her to feel her power growing. The deep-down need she had to make Rion proud. Why did she even care? That ***** stole her life from her. Not that it had been a good life but it had been stolen none the less. Athena had been nothing but a mistake and it made her stomach flame with rage. She never asked to be made. Never asked for forever. Before now? She thought forever would be too long. After all, what the **** could you do with it anyways? She was about to learn.

The place around her didn't seem to look like any sort of establishment that was swarmed with zombies. It was nicely decorated, even had a nice sitting area to enjoy a book or maybe talk among friends. A nice little bar to sit on a stool and drink petty problems away. It had an animal fur rug on the floor for Christ sake. No, it looked like the sort of place someone might come to relax or to stay for awhile. No one would even think twice about this place if they came from out of town to rent one of the rooms upstairs. Sadly, they would be sorely mistaken and quite possibly robbed of their life in trade for either death or forever-life [If they were 'lucky'.]. Did this mean that these.. zombies could have been around before? At any place she had gone? That the chance meeting with Rion hadn't been such a huge chance but something that could happen to anyone with such rotten luck as she? She wasn't sure but the thought pissed her off anyways. Maybe she had never been safe from the creatures of nightmares after all. Maybe no one was safe.

Music was blaring in the headphones she wore to fight these zombies and with each thud of the drums she moved. If she tried she could shut her eyes and see each move the drummer made at each ringing sound of the drums. She had learned to play at a young age when her Father realized she had no real hunger for sports like her brothers. It hurt to think of her first drum set- her first solo drum act- anything that could remind her of her life she had only weeks ago. Her entire life had been taken thanks to the blue-haired ***** Rion. The thought of her siress suddenly made her rage harder against the zombie that she was currently fighting. A calculated step here, a swing of her sword there..

Buzz, Buzz, Buuuzzz. Her cellphone vibrated against her body while it rested deep inside the pocket of her pants. Athena's features twisted then and she only raged harder. It felt good to land blow after blow to the dead flesh before her. The muscles of her arms worked with each swing of the sword in her tight hands. While she had used calculated steps and swings before -she got sloppy when she let her emotions take over her. Instead of using her strategy she went instead with brute force and her swings landed everywhere over the zombies body. It wasn't the zombie she was seeing - it was Rion. No longer did the zombie look like a walking corpse with ugly rotting flesh but instead a beautiful woman with blue hair and a come hither body.
No mommy, don't do it again
Don't do it again
I'll be a good boy
I'll be a good boy, I promise
No mommy don't hit me [OW!]
Why did you have to hit me like that, mommy?
Don't do it, you're hurting me
Why did you have to be such a *****
The zombie stumbling about and fighting back only managed to piss her off more and with her sword she urged on. The bottom soles of her boots screeching along the nice flooring of the establishment as she moved and dodged the zombie's defensive attacks. The grip over the handle tightened enough to turn her knuckles white and she swung over and over again until the zombie finally fell. Green eyes flashed silver as she watched the corpse fall. She was satisfied. Athena dropped her sword by her right foot and attempted to steady herself and before she knew it she was kicking the sole of her combat boot against the zombies face repeatedly and without apology. Taking out her anger over her loss life and the gaining of Rion without screwing herself in the process. The music blared on as she kept kicking the corpse around as if it had forsaken her personally in some way.
Why don't you
Why don't you just **** off and die
Why can't you just **** off and die
Why can't you just leave here and die
Never stick your hand in my face again *****
**** you!
I don't need this ****
You stupid sadistic abusive ******* whore
How would you like to see how it feels mommy
Here it comes, get ready to die

It took her several minutes to get her rage out but finally she took a deep unneeded breath and managed to calm herself. Putting her bloody foot down she bent over and plucked up her sword to use the edge of the blade to collect it's ear, at least the zombie was good for something. As she straightened back up her phone buzzed again to remind her of her message. It couldn't have been anyone else except her siress and that just made her annoyed again. Her entire life before gone with Rion's hunger and she had no friends and no family and no one but the blue-haired witch. No one else to make sure that she survived her new fate. This meant she had to listen to her. Athena's need to survive outweighed her anger. Putting her sword away she shoved her hand into her pocket and retrieved her phone.

Meet me outside the flats.

"****." Athena mumbled, turning to spare a glance to the zombie that had suppressed her rage for her siress and glared as if it held blame to all of her problems. What now? She wasn't sure but she was sure it would be good. Her eyes narrowed into slits at her phone for minutes before she managed to text back a fine. Using the heel of her boot she pivoted towards the exit and used her hands to pull up the black hoodie she wore over her head and with music still blaring she went to meet her siress. A hand sneaked it's way into her hoodie's front pocket and she pulled out her pack of smokes to take one out and place between full lips. After she shoved the pack back into her pocket and pulled out her lighter she lit the cigarette and took a calming drag from it. At least these things wouldn't have the chance to kill her now since she was already dead. Rion had at least done that good for her. That and not completely abandoning her once they both realized the mistake that had been made. Putting her lighter back into her pocket she braced herself for whatever Rion had in store for her tonight. It better be good.
