From Darkness into the Light (vadablade)

Post by Klara »

The sunlight streamed through the crack in the curtains lighting the room ever so slightly but enough to awaken Klara and make her wonder what was going on. She awoke confused and disoriented, vada’s arm and leg effectively pinning her to the bed. For a moment panic set in as she began to struggle only to hear his soothing, quietly sounds in her ear reassuring her she was safe.

Vada smiled in his sleep as he pulled her tightly against himself. His face softened by sleep making him appear innocent and younger than his years. She curled her hand around his own where it rested on her stomach and gave it a gentle squeeze. Klara’s mouth wore a slight smile as she gazed at the man who had become her life in such a short amount of time.

Klara had a reason to live these days and they all had to do with the man beside her. Never had she met anyone so happy to have been turned nor so protective of those he loved. Her own father had not worried about her as much as vada did. She reached over and placed a gentle kiss on his lips before closing her eyes once more to try to sleep.

The advertisement for the hit placed on her had disappeared allowing her to breathe a sigh of relief though the paranoia was still there. She smiled at the memory that even facing certain death, vada was not afraid and would do what he could to protect her and if she were to be killed, at least they would be together. She remembered when she had said she wanted a man who would go to hell and back for her, she was now in his arms.

Klara knew bits and pieces about the man’s past. He was a killer, and from what she had heard a damn good one but there was one thing he had not shared and it intrigued her. The girl. He had mentioned he was on a mission to kill those that had hurt a girl but she did not know the relation of the girl to him or why those vada killed had hurt her.

Klara watched him dream, a myriad of emotions flitting across his face, joy, sadness, anger. She wondered what he was dreaming about it and wishing she could take the bad from it. She turned and caressed the leg that was thrown over hers as she drifted back to sleep, determining to hear about the girl and maybe, just maybe there was something she could do to help him finish his mission.
