The cool night air slapped across Aliyah's face, stinging her cheeks in the worst way. Her frustration over the continuing cold was only feeding her bad mood, which had set in as soon as she had woken up. Why her mood was so sour was beyond even her understanding, but she did little to try and work through it. Instead, she clung to the feeling and let it fuel her need for violence. Her violent cravings were only directed toward the zombies and ferals the roamed the QZ, of course. Still, there was satisfaction in watching them hit the floor.
Tonight, she had decided to venture into something new. Once upon a time a few weeks ago, Pi had explained that eventually, she would need to move on from the QZ to take on bigger and better creatures. It naturally made sense to Aliyah, as she had spent quite some time there already. Eventually, the zombies grew old and the ferals just proved to be an annoyance more than anything else. So, what better way to move on from them than to take a trip into a different part of the city's secret world?
Before she could venture into this new area, she had her regular stops to make. The shop was filled with mingling humans, all acting as if the world couldn't have been any brighter. Ali wanted to take their eyes out of their sockets. All was not bright and sunshine-y in the world, and their ignorance to the truth irritated her. If there was a way to show them the truth without revealing vampires, she would have in that moment. But, she forced the impulse back and instead did her business with the shady merchant as if all were normal.
Once her business was done, she went back outside into the cold while pulling free her Tome for the Den. She concentrated on the magic of the object for a brief second, a blink later finding herself in the spacious d'Artois center of travel. The number of times she used the Den was growing by the night, her laziness for travel getting worse and worse. When she had such an easy means of travel, it made no sense to walk. That was the way she saw it, anyway.
Her steps carried her the the Portal she would need, and she froze. It was becoming routine to stop before a Portal and dread her plunge into the black hole that could never spit her back out. And, as usual, she pushed her wariness aside. On the count of three, she jumped through the Portal, letting it take her to the new and unexplored destination.
A moment later she crashed to the floor of the Mausoleum. The blonde lost her footing and fell, landing less than gracefully. With a groan, she rolled onto her back, taking a moment to regain a sense of composure.
