[Phoenix]

--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--

<Karina> A courier arrived with an envelope. Carefully opening it up, she read the contents carefully. A slight perk of her brow as she read the note again. Vel had given her new details as to what had happened when the Eyrie had been attacked awhile ago. Not sure if she was supposed to receive the letter, she decided to disregard who it might actually be intended for given she was sure her name on the envelope was a mistake. Shoving it into her back pocket, she gathered her bag from the side of the couch and left her hut. Ammo was her goal as she was sure that 200 wasn't nearly enough. Taking the elevator to the second floor, she stopped in the shop to gather supplies.

* Doc was doing what was referred to as 'the walk of shame'. Returning early after spending several hours elsewhere. However to his credit, he did not look rumpled or disheveled. He exited the elevator and headed to the computer area, he saw Rina, "Hi Rina.. " He winked at her, and sat down at one of the laptops.

<Phoenix> When the envelope came to her, Phoenix lay sprawled on the couch, idly flipping through a romance novel she'd collected a few weeks back. It hadn't been keeping her interest, but then what did she expect from something out of the $0.99 bargain bin? The letter placed on the coffee table and addressed to her was a welcome distraction. Those honey brown eyes flicked up to the creature that had brought it to her, "Thanks Doppel." The shadow nodded by way of reply before slipping out of sight.

Nix ripped open the envelope and devoured its contents before snatching up her phone. Adventure awaited! 'Meet at the Eyrie in 10,' she typed out and sent the message off the those on her team: Karina, Doc, Dulce, and Emeritus.

Seven minutes later, she was there, lounging against the shop.

* Dulce was done going through the nightly business with Sada. She was pretty sure the woman was up to something as usual but she was not interested in playing twenty questions with the woman. She sent her on back to the restaurant and Dulce took out a tome and lightly read it sending her to where she had a few things she needed to tend to. One would be getting to her lock boxes. that was when she felt her cell wiggling for attention as she arrived in the basement of the Eyrie. Her long fingers pulled out the device as she took to the elevator as it opened. Nix was wanting her to meet up. She stuffed the cell back and made her way there.

The doors opened and she found a few already gathered. Her brow lifted curiously as she stepped up to join the group. "What's up?" Her eyes took in each face then went to the sender of the message. "Nix?"

* Emeritus read the message from Nix and tomed quickly to the Eyrie. Exiting the elevator he quickly spotted the others, giving Nix a small grin "so what's up?"

* Karina smirked at the message that rang through to her cell. Nix was on her way and she had eyes on Doc. This would be simple. Finishing her purchases, she walked over to the man and closed his laptop. "Hey sexy...I hope you got some rest with your nightly escapades...I think we're going to be busy today. Nix is on her way."

* Doc got a message from Phoenix. He was always getting ******* messages from Nix. Could she not even let the man do the walk of shame in peace? Apparently not. He decided against reading it. Since he had yet to make it to his hut, he was also oblivious to the missive from Vel that awaited him, just inside his hut. His attention was then taken by Rina, who closed his laptop and then mentioned Nix. Again with the Phoenix, he frowned, "What the ****? I can honestly say I am innocent. I even gave her two ******* days off."

* Phoenix flicked her eyes to the gathered group, head tipping just a bit as those honey brown eyes flicked from face to face. Maybe she was surprised Rina and Doc hadn't spotted her - then again, were they really looking for her? At least Dulce and Em had checked their phones. "I gather you guys all got letters from Vel, too?"

* Emeritus nodded slowly "I was a little curious what this was about, glad to see I'm not the only one then."

* Dulce looked at the others slowly and nodded at what Nix had asked. "Looks like we were all included in the message delivery."

* Karina, laughing as she pulled the envelope out of her pocket and shared it with Doc. "We have a mission. We need to work with Nix and a few others." Looking up she noticed Nix and the others and nodded toward them. "In fact...they're here. Go freshen up and I will stall." Sliding off the desk, she walked over to the others. "Sooo...I see we have been invited to a party."

* Doc stood placed a chaste kiss on the tops Rina's head and headed up to his hut to get cleaned up. Upon entering he found that he too had an envelope. He ripped it open, scanning it quickly, then rereading it. He frowned, as he pondered the deal. They were going to have a competition while hunting down some overlord? Did people not realize how ******* competitive he was? And he was on Phoenix’s team? He shed his clothes and jumped in the shower, while still pondering. The cosmos had something against him.. everytime he turned around.. there was Phoenix.. or someone talking about Phoenix. Exiting the shower, he started to brush his teeth. A thought struck him, maybe they could use Phoenix as bait. A lure. But only if the overlord was blind and deaf... He sighed as he then redressed. He eventually rejoined the group on level two.

<Phoenix> "I wouldn't exactly call it a party..." she trailed off dubiously, watching Doc slip off to do whatever it was Docs did up in their huts. Probably jack off to old photos of himself. Nix shuddered. Back to parties! They involved not-dying, and she wasn't entirely sure the attempt on the Lionelli would end without bloodshed. Her eyes flicked over each individual; presumably they'd read their task and knew what the deal was. "I have some ideas about how this should go down, but I'm technically junior owl."

Actually, technically, she wasn't even an owl. Technically. Her eyes flicked between Rina, Em and Dulce expectantly.

* Dulce didn't say much. In fact she stayed quiet per usual. She went about getting her ammo needed as well as getting rid of what she had no intention of carrying around. Once this task was complete she stepped back over and leaned against a counter and waited to see what those ideas were.

* Emeritus leaned back rather casually as he nodded "seems a little exciting, no? can't say I even know what these Lionelli things are up to but I have been itching to get into that castle for a while now. so what are you thinking?"

* Karina looked up at Doc as he returned, reaching up she ruffled what hair had grown back from his Halloween costume and then looked at Nix. "Well...it could be a party. A party really is a gathering of people invited by a host, though ours is not going along for the ride, to a festive and socializing gathering. We will be festive as we get what we need and be socializing with ourselves and those of our enemies." Rina chuckled to herself as she looked at everyone. "They just don't know they are part of the party. I think we should make it so they can't attack us though. A ritual might help."

* Emeritus raised an eyebrow "Like Eirene's will?"

* Doc settled back and listened. He was not that great with magic and spells.

* Karina nodded her head. "Exactly that. I know that Nix and I can perform it. What about you and Dulce?"

* Emeritus nodded slowly "Quite good with rituals if I may toot my own horn."

* Phoenix gave a thoughtful nod. "We could, but that would also prevent us from attacking, and they might suspect something if they're training between the time we do the ritual and the time we get there. I was thinking that we'd use some combination of telepathy, alluristy mojo and some good old fashioned beatdown."

* Dulce looked at Rina and nodded. "I am good with it as well."

* Emeritus laughed "alluristy mojo?" turned to Dulce "think we may be called up for that."

* Doc pressed his lips together into a grim line. He really couldn't see a place where he fit in, .. except maybe as cannon fodder.

* Dulce looked to Emeritus whom she inspired nightly to show she still had it in her. Smirked. "I am no Allurist but it seems to happen surprisingly enough."

* Karina smiled at Dulce and Em. "That will come in handy." Looking up at Nix as she pondered her words. "Good point. Someone could always be on the ready to cast the ritual if needed. Alluristy mojo....hmm..." Thinks a bit as she tapped her finger to her lip. After a few moments, she paused and her face lit up like the 4th of July in America. "I have an idea… though not sure how well it will work. We have never done it in this sort of situation before."

* Doc listened. He didn't have the powers and he didn't know how they worked.

* Phoenix arched a brow at Rina. "By all means... Not that you need my permission. I meant pacification with the Alluristy mojo bit. Shadow in, get all cozy with the Lionelli, then pacify and mind block before he can cry for help. Then have us quietly kick the **** out of him and cart 'em back off to the Eyrie. We should... probably grab one of the lower down guys before attempting an overlord, though."

* Dulce would be more than willing to slink on in unseen, pacify and then wait for the fun to begin. However, she didn't want to be just lounging about being all charming. She wanted to hold Lola and she certainly wanted to play. "I can do that. As long as I get to kick my heels up too."

* Emeritus smirked "Always so violent. I'm quite good with my Alluristy mojo but I would need a bit of help getting in."

* Karina nodded her head as she listened to everyone and then smirked as she addressed Nix's statement. "Pacification would be perfect and probably needed if we wanted to attempt a clean in and out. Same if we wanted to do Eirene's Will. What I think would be the most beneficial that we have attempted before...though not sure why when we have those pesky paladins all the time..." She furrowed her brow before she realized she had 'squirreled' for a moment. "****...sorry...bewitch? They would be forced to answer our questions without a doubt or lying."

* Dulce couldn't summon a ice cube if her *** was on fire but she was able to teleport one out if it came down to it. The allurist strengths she seemed to have finally would be used. She cursed the path altogether under her breath. Bewitching. Her top lip lifted in displeasure. A fist in the face also did wonders.

<Doc> "Alright.. we're looking at this as though, its a bounty offender, medium powered... This guy is an overlord. It is probably a good bet that he has a high tolerance against spells being used on him. So we need to think of backup plans as well."

* Phoenix could just imagine Dulce's version of 'kicking her heels up' - it involved people losing teeth after receiving a foot to the mandible. The thought made her smile just a bit, though the expression waivered as she rounded on Emeritus, brow furrowing. "Have you never been to the castle? You can walk right in." Rina's idea, though, had merit. She nodded firmly, "Might even be able to bewitch the dude and walk him right back to the Eyrie. Though, if that fails, I think our backup plan should be shoot it until near death and drag the almost-corpse back here. Then we can always try the bewitching again."

She paused, tapping her foot against the floorboards. "I'm going to suggest we go for the Summoner or the Shifter, first." She'd already discounted an Illusionist, for obvious reasons (to her).

* Dulce looked around then to Emeritus. "So, you feel like you can give the target an overwhelming dose of 'I am so hot you can't resist being my *****'?" She figured if he couldn't then she would be the one to go in and light someones fire.

<Emeritus> “Well at least if the tricks fail, beating the **** out of someone can work. Never really had a problem with my powers personally” He gave a playful wink to Dulce, “and yes, I can charm the pants off anything.” He felt a smug smile cross his lips “Or if not can always make him live a nightmare for a bit. Fear is a good motivator if I may say so.”

* Karina looked between everyone and gritted her teeth. Doc had a point but the bewitch might work on the important peon that they needed to grab as well. Grabbing the assistant would be easier and less expected. "We can do a mixture since Doc has a valid point. Bewitch the other, not the Overlord. I would suggest the Shifter as we don't want added company if the Summoner gets a funny idea before we can gain control of him."

* Doc nods, he was still thinking through the iterations of failure. If they ended up fighting, that could raise the alarm; and bring more fighters against them. He saw too many ways things could go wrong than the things that could go right. However he held his tongue for the moment. They were still in early stages yet.

* Dulce raises a brow. "Fine Prince Charming wants the job of making a minion out of one. I am willing to step in if it doesn't go down like it should." She wrinkled her nose at Emeritus. at least he seemed to enjoy the power to do so. the direct approach was more to her liking.

<Phoenix> Phoenix listened in silence, facial expression giving nothing away as to her thoughts. "Alright... whatever we decide to do, tomorrow everyone needs to come fully prepared and stocked up with spiritual energy; we may need it." Those honey brown eyes flicked to Karina. "Shifter it is - you're right. I think we should consider the Shifter as a test run - we can leave a note or bewitch one of the younger initiates into telling its superiors the Shifter would be back the next night or something."

Glancing between Dulce and Em, Nix frowned. Prince Charming? Really? Giving a shake of her head, Nix just shrugged."Alright, Em... but if you step wrong, you're mince meat. These guys are dangerous. Don't **** around and don't get cocky, got it?"

* Emeritus nodded "Will absolutely do my best." sighed a little, not getting cocky sounded more daunting than the actual task "but I'll make sure I'm well rested, just give me a time and point the direction."

* Dulce smirks as her eyes move between Nix and Emeritus. Her long arms folded lightly in front of her. If she had to bewitch something she was too drawn to killing it.

<Karina> "Well....we have a semi plan though I think we should think this through fully before we just go in and **** **** up." Turning to Doc, he had been quiet and he sometimes...most of the time, thought of things that Rina missed when her excitement took over. "I would like to hear your thoughts, Mr. Man."

* Doc ran a hand over his still very short hair. "We need to reconnoiter.. What is the layout of the place, Is the place trapped? How many guards are there? What kind of weapons do they carry? How many entrances and how many exits? What if Eirene's will doesn't work.. will that tip them off?" he shook his head. "we need eyes on the place."

* Dulce nods. "Wraiths? Need to map it out?"

* Phoenix shook her head with a sigh. "I know the place like the back of my hand; been in and out a dozen times, even had a date all up in their ****. The Foucault Castle is so big they don't have enough people to patrol everything, which works in our favor. No traps. No guards. There are about six guys with bridge powers, as far as I've seen. Two overlords. More underlings. One entrance/exit, but we all have tomes in case of emergency. They carry guns and swords..." she rattled all this off in a bored monotone. "Does that answer your questions, Doc? Alleviate your concerns?"

She couldn't keep the smirk off her lips. "I know how they fight; they won't expect this sort of thing. Not the Shifters and not the Overlords. I think it's a solid plan; we just need to focus on what to do with them once we get them out. How do we hold them?"

<Doc> "You know it like the back of your hand.. I don't " he looked around, "Do the rest of you? If you get lost, do you know where to go? What if tomes don't work?"

* Emeritus shook his head slowly "I've never actually been in the place myself but always up for a bit of adventure. Though do share a few of your concerns there Doc, would not be in our best interest if we found ourselves unable to get out quickly."

* Karina chuckled as he ran off a list of questions. He was perfect! Excitedly, she leaned into him though it looked more like a bounce and kissed him on the cheek. "This is why I love you!!" Nodding over to Dulce. "We can use Lovely and Nix's. Not sure who else has a wraith. I haven't been there either, I always stick to the Cats for those damn unholy relics."

Smiling at Nix, Rina gave a matter-of-fact nod. "Sweet...then you can map it out."

* Emeritus smirked "Nix, the residential cartographer"

* Phoenix still looked rather unimpressed by Doc's criticism; he was wasting time and being cantankerous with a side of grumpy old man. "I already have it mapped. I'll xerox some copies tomorrow. Though my best suggestion would be to stick with your buddy."

“Other than a map, what do we need? Rope won't cut it."

<Emeritus> so splitting up into two teams inside?

* Doc smiled at Rina, and gave Phoenix a passive look. He still wanted to reconnoiter. Just because one person out of the five of them, knew the place... that was total crap odds, if things went to ****. Like they would have time pull out a map and tell the bad guys.. 'hey.. time out'

<Karina> Buddy...Nix said buddy. She couldn't help but try to hide the immature giggle that was slowly trying to escape until she counted...there was an odd number. Someone wouldn't have a buddy. Maybe she would have to stay back and be ready if they needed a summon or a ritual but would bring that to their attention. "Erm...we have five people and buddies consist of two...who doesn't get a buddy or would you like me to stay back in case someone needs summoned?"

* Dulce believed this was starting to sound doable with those present. She was pretty sure, however, that no one was going to be waving a hand to be her 'buddy'. She can't remember ever having a 'buddy'.

* Doc grabbed Rina's hand, "Buddy." He was not about to get stuck with Phoenix.

* Phoenix hadn't really meant that as... a real... buddy system. She deadpanned. "I don't need a buddy. Dulce and Em can buddy up." She was sure Dulce would love that.

* Emeritus smirked "everyone likes being your buddy Nix!" looked at Dulce "if you can keep up" he laughed quietly.

* Dulce eyes Nix wondering just what the **** she did to her recently. Looks slowly at Emeritus and eyes him slowly up and down. "Hey buddy...." Feels her gums curl a bit as she says it. No one should really use that term. It sounded wrong.

"I can keep up and with pants on. So just do what you say you are up to doing and I will make sure your *** is covered if it doesn't pan out." She winked.

* Phoenix was her own buddy. This almost made her feel sad… Unless she was the teacher. Hm…

* Karina couldn't contain herself as Doc quickly grabbed her hand and said 'buddy'. Bursting out in a fit of giggles before she pressed into him, hugging him with her head resting on his shoulder as if they were a couple as she watched the group. "Sounds good to me, especially if Em needs help with the bewitching, Dulce can help him out."

<Emeritus> “I charm, you kill. Sounds positively delightful.”

* Doc nodded solemnly. "Agreed. We let them do the voodoo.. and we mop up. " He gave her hand a quick squeeze.

* Phoenix glanced between Doc and Rina suspiciously, but opted not to comment on the strange behavior. Instead, she turned to Dulce; she'd be good with logistics. "Once we get it back here, what are we doing with it?"

* Emeritus smirked playfully "Talk to it"

<Karina> "Ask it questions...that is the point of bewitching it so we don't have to beat the **** out of it and get nowhere."

* Phoenix resisted the urge to facepalm. "If we end up having to beat it, what are we doing with it?"

* Dulce focused on Nix as she asked the question. "Cage it? Tie it up? Just in case? Set up the perimeter once back to be free of having any wise guys coming back to come get their buddy? I am more than happy to make sure that nothing gets past a certain point."

<Doc> "We need to run through the iterations of a scenario.. so was have plan for the unexpected."

<Dulce> "I agree."

<Karina> "Caging works and I can always do Fortify Abode to slow them down if they come charging. Then we trap the **** out of the entrances. If they are still alive IF they reach us then, we can kill them."

* Karina smirked at Doc. "That's actually a better idea... Work on it?"

* Doc nodded. "Anyone ever teleported someone in a shock cage?"

* Karina shook her head. "I haven't. Can't we just place him in there?"

<Phoenix> "I have - it's easy enough. I have shock cages as well, so we can snap one around him."

* Doc clarified for everyones benefit. "Alright.. yes we can place him in it.. But if we teleport him.. does the cage go with him? Or does it just send him.. loose and able to run free .. wherever we decide to teleport him; OR Should we attempt to teleport him INTO a shock cage on the other end? AND what if .. he has a grounding pendant? We need to look at these issues before we act. Should we not, try a dry run .. with one of us as the guinea pig? I will volunteer to be the Overlord..."

* Emeritus looked at Nix "Better safe than sorry, no? Sounds like a sound plan."

* Phoenix pressed her lips into a thin line; this was a time sensitive mission, as far as she was aware, and Doc seemed intent on mucking around and wasting as much time as possible. Those honey brown eyes narrowed; maybe that was his task: be a pain in her ***, specifically. Her head gave a firm shake.

"No. We don't have the time or resources to **** around like that. We'll get the cage, get some spirits, grab the supplies we'll need - have the wraiths on hand to drain some of this guy's energy, and we'll go get the underling. We all look pretty well rested," she pointed out, flicking her eyes over those gathered, with the pointed exception of Doc.

* Doc glances at Phoenix, "It was just a suggestion. ... However.. if we get ******* lost.. don't blame me."

* Phoenix noted the glance and resisted strangling him. "To answer your question - if something is firmly attached to your body when you're teleported, it goes with you. Thank god for that, otherwise the nudity would be unbearable..."

* Doc shrugged apathetically, "And you know this .. for a fact? Because I do not." Another careless shrug, "What if his determination to stay put... outweighs your ability to teleport him? He's a ******* overlord. To presume this is a walk in the part.. without even contemplating problems.. is folly."

* Emeritus raised an eyebrow, his tone obviously not argumentative "do you have a sound, thought out alternative my friend? We will need them alive and compliant yes? Not to say this plan is flawless but seems to be our best course of action thus far."

* Phoenix fixed Doc with a nice, dry look. "Have you killed one? No. I have. I know what I can and can't do to them." Her eyes flicked to Em and she nodded. "I agree with the plan. I don't agree with wasting time. Besides, Doc doesn't have what it takes to play Overlord."

* Doc snorts, "Like I was intending to fight back? No. I was going to be the 'body'.. "

* Karina perked her brow as she watched the man she was snuggled up with argue with Red. Rolling her eyes, as she pinched the back of his neck as she thought he was just trying to be difficult given that it was Nix that new more about the Lionelli than the rest of them. "If you think you can teleport out with him then I think that would be a job for you to take on. If you need help or backup, then we will gladly do so."

* Dulce was ready to go an hour ago. As far as she was concerned they did have what seemed to be a plan that fit. It involved a cage. She felt a slow inhale through her nose lift her chest and shoulder as she counted the seconds that passed by. Seconds turned into minutes and that meant they were all that more behind on getting **** done.

* Phoenix nodded. "So split up, grab what you need, and we'll all meet outside the castle in half an hour. Deal?"

* Doc gave Rina a look and whispered "et tu?" Then louder, "I am not trying to be difficult. I will go with the flow.. "

* Emeritus grinned as he eyed his companions, clapping his hands as he leaned forward "right, was wondering if how long we were going to keep this sewing circle up" gave Dulce a playful wink "ready when you are buddy."

* Dulce walked out with what she needed already obtained and hoped someone else was equally ready as she did so.

* Karina glared at him for a moment as he responded. As if she would even come close to being his 'Brutus'. Giving him that 'you should ******* know better of me look' before giving a shake of her head. "We'll be fine...remember, you and I are buddies. I will teleport you out if we get in deep ****." Nodding to Nix before patting her messenger bag. "I have all that I need...well maybe more ammo..."

* Dulce was already in a long serious as all hell stride towards the elevator. Prince Charming and his ancient ideas of sewing circles was about to be checked once he found his way into the elevator that had doors slowly closing her view of him off. "Move it Slick."

* Doc grabbed Rina's hand again, and yanked her toward him. "I dont want to be teleported if everyone else is in trouble. You teleport everyone else.. you leave me.. Promise.." He gave her a look, "Promise..." in a slightly sing-song voice.

<Phoenix> "Alright then, kids," a smirk twisted her lips as she pondered just how far this buddy analogy would go. "See you in thirty." With a wink, the redhead vanished. She had some traps, rope and various other gadgets to collect before meeting them outside the castle.

* Karina smiled as Doc took her hand once again until he yanked her toward him. Her eyes looked up at him in a doe-like fashion as she nodded at his words. "You won't be the last to go...everyone else, you, then me. If I'm too tired magically then I will tome. I won't leave you so get that out of your ******* head but I will promise you that you won't be the first either. Deal?"

* Emeritus rushed to catch the elevator before it closed, already having prepared "hold the door!" he called to her. feeling quite anxious to dive headlong into another dangerous situation, he gave her a broad, overly playful smile "after you captain."

* Dulce eyed the doors getting closer together. As they did she smiled. Emeritus needed some fire in his step. She raised a brow as she watched and waited. He made it. Her finger extended and pushed the button firmly to send it down. She focused her energy and sent a little inspiration his way. Maybe that would have them moving closer to their destination. "Aye."

* Doc shook his head, "Unacceptable. I will not have you ..or any of them ..take ****. YOU leave me.. Promise me. I can deal with this **** better than you .. and you know it. I will need you .. at that ritual altar.. to attune me."

* Karina stared at him as she gritted her teeth in protest while making a note that she needed to work on her combat skills so she wasn't treated as a fragile doll. Gritting her teeth more as he continue, she was determined not to agree with him but soon came to the realization...her feelings could be what gets them killed so she agreed out of her better judgement. "Fine!" She nearly snarled at him but it was more out of frustration. She stormed over to the shop to load her bag up with ammo...she would kill anything that tried to get close to him.

* Dulce looked over to Emeritus from the corner of her eye without turning. "You have your weapon, ammo and a few other tricks up your sleeve if things don't go as we want?" She pulled out her cell and glanced at the screen then to the sparkling silver watch that dangled at her right wrist.

* Emeritus nodded "always ready." patted the gun on his hip "well rested and eager. but everything will go smoothly." his tendency for overconfidence and reckless behaviour might need to be checked.

<Doc> Doc strode after her, "Look Rina.. if things go south..I need to know .. you, Dutch, Em.. and" He sighed long-sufferingly "even FrankeNIx are safe." He looked at her, dropped all facades, "call it a quirk.. an issue, a fault.. I dont ******* care. This is game.. and if it goes bad.. I do not want you guys to pay the price."

* Karina paid the cashier as he spoke for a moment to her back. Sighing softly she turned and looked at him. "But we are a team, Doc. If one falls...we all fall. If there is any sign of trouble, don't think for one minute that we won't fight for each other but if it looks like a losing battle. I can teleport and summon....you know damn ******* well that I would summon or teleport you and them in a heartbeat. Family first. Period. End of." She walked over to the elevator and waited for him. "Besides....you have an actual family that you need to look out for. I won't leave you behind so these fucks win."

<Phoenix> Once she’d tomed back to the Citadel, Doppel was ready and willing to help her collect what she needed from her stores. Scanning and copying her map of the castle took a few minutes longer than the redhead had expected, and the cables, rope, shock cages, knives, banishment tiles, extra ammo and relics filled her bag to nearly bursting, but she managed to get it all in. In hindsight, a half hour had been far too much time.

Of course Phoenix ended up outside in the stupid cold, waiting well before her time was up. Nix spent the time she waited sorting the items she'd brought along. Four maps were set aside to give out to those who'd come; she'd quickly scanned and copied her own. As she waited Meretsegerhotep arrived at her side. "Go ahead and find me an empty room - one they're not patrolling." With a nod, the wraith slipped off into the building.

* Dulce eyed where he patted at his hip then sized him up slowly."If it didn't she would be sure to remind him it didn't. "It will." It was not a question. She was not going to accept anything less. Orders were given. Expectations would be met. She was not one to accept anything in between. Her boots hit the soft ground just outside The Eyrie.

"Let's go.." In a blur of blonde hair and black leather the woman was gone from sight and standing outside the castle in a blink of an immortal eye with the power of celerity.

* Doc followed her, pulled her back.. missed and had to follow. "Rina.. " louder "Karina." He looked at her. "Competition. The Team is first. My family can ******* deal with me being gone.. if.. IF it happens. Consider it a learning experience. Do not sacrifice this for ONE .. the needs of the many .. outweigh the needs of the one. "

* Phoenix felt more than she heard Dulce's arrival; it was a subtle shift in the air that had her glance up from the items she'd been rearranging. A smile twitched her lips at Dulce. "Where's your buddy?"

* Dulce looked out at the distance as she stood next to the tall red head. "Guess..." She kept watching.

* Emeritus groaned to himself "damn I need to learn how to do that." he slid into his car, driving like a bat out of hell until he was close enough to make the rest of the trip on foot. Catching up with her and Nix "Sorry, know I'm the slow one here. now, when are we doing this." He bounced on his heels, he was apparently a bit too eager for the task at hand.

* Dulce finally was relieved as the man drove up and bounced out appearing enthusiastic at getting started. "There you are."

* Emeritus smirked "Some of us still prefer style over substance" he flicked his tongue out at her.

* Karina tilted her head and all but laughed in his face. "Are you kidding? Tytonidae is family. You have been here long enough to know that and yes...you have kiddlets too. People to go back to and care for so yes...yes you will get teleported or summoned or whatever...you aren't getting left behind." Gritting her teeth, she eyed him as she weighed his words.

<Karina> "We all go or none go. Got it. I have that power and I will shoot anyone that doesn't listen. Now let's go...we're late."

* Phoenix nodded to Em as he approached, and then flicked her eyes to her watch. Where the **** were Rina and Doc? "Were the other two ******* before you two left? Or did they start after?"

* Dulce looked soured instantly at Nix's words. "You think I would waste two seconds to watch that ****?"

<Phoenix> "No," she admitted, "But you may have got an unpleasant eyeful as you left. Can you call... text... something Rina?"

* Emeritus laughed “I think Doc got caught up playing lifeguard.” He imitated his voice "Everyone safe, rawr rawr rawr."

* Doc looks at her with a 'wtf' look. "Are you ******* kidding me? You think I would put the spawns over you? And the others? Are you ******* nuts? **** no." He gestured in a frustrated way and stalked away toward the group.

<Phoenix> Pursing her lips in thought, Nix scrunched up her nose. Em had a point... "Yeah... he is, and it seems strange to me. That ****'s going to **** us up." When she flicked her eyes up at the movement of the pair in question, she nodded. She still, however, wasn't certain Doc had the teams' best interest at heart. More likely, he was looking out for his own interests.

* Dulce eyes the two slowly making their way towards them. "Looks like they unvelcroed themselves long enough to make the long trek here."

<Karina> "Over me??? Okay...fine...want to play that card....Mortll. That hag bag has some sort of pull." She was unaware of the full affect of her words or the emotion that they carried. Jealousy was new to her and it was clear that she easily overlooked it. Pulling out her gun, she made sure the clip was full as she walked over to Nix. "My bad...we're late because of my mouth and actually caring for someone."

<Doc> "What?! " He glared at Rina. "I Just said.. THIS group .. these four.. come first!.. and you bring up Mortll .. What the Serious **** are you talking about?"

* Dulce raised a brow. "Like we don't care? We are here because **** needs to get done."

<Doc> "Vote me the **** off this team."

* Dulce narrowed eyes. "Dream the **** on ."

* Phoenix noted Rina did not seem particularly dishevelled. She approved of Doc not getting laid. The redhead had been about to comment when her wraith reappeared. The voice was soft, though thickly accented with Arabic tones, "There is a room, just off to the side, unused and unmanned. It will make for a good base." She nodded to dismiss her wraith before turning to the outburst. "Doc. Calm your ****. If you can't keep a lid on it, I want you off this team."

* Karina perked a brow at him and shook her head. "No...no one's getting voted off. Just nevermind...Again...my bad." Slamming the clip back into her gun, she looked up at Nix's wraith as it appeared. She needed a distraction to get her head straight or she was going to burst. Rina wasn't sure what had gotten into her but it was ******* **** up and she hated it..

* Emeritus shook his head "we need everyone here. Doc, if you can manage it mate, stay."

* Phoenix narrowed her eyes. "No. If he's going to be going on about safety and riling Rina up, I don't trust him with this task. I want this done cleanly and efficiently, and what you two," she nodded between Rina and Doc, " have going on isn't efficient. Rina's skillset is more valuable to the task at hand."

* Doc wanted to shoot Em .. just for saying that ****. But he didnt. "One. I know this. Two. If anyone is left behind.. let it be me. Three. Listen to Nix if in doubt. Four. VOTE.. me .. the .. ****.. OFF...!”

* Dulce thought Doc was not going anywhere. If she had to ride this rollercoaster out there was no way in hell she was going to watch his or anyone else's *** bailing mid way through.

* Karina darted her eyes up at Nix and sighed. "He didn't rile me up, it was my fault. Seriously...it's fine. We'll get the job done." Her head instantly snapped to Doc. "Knock it off. You aren't getting voted off. I will ******* handcuff you to me if I have to."

She paused for a moment and looked at Nix. "How am I more of an asset? Doc can actually kill ****..."

* Dulce stared at rina then at Doc. She wondered why Doc was sounding like a whining ***** suddenly. Did he really need those handcuffs?

* Emeritus checked his watch "are we sitting out here all night playing survivor or are we doing what we were told to do?"

<Phoenix> Listen to Nix, Doc said. Damn. She'd never let him live that one down. "We don't want to kill ****, Rina. We want to capture it. You can ritual burden him and you can teleport, poison, use your mystic mojo to weaken it if need be." Nix stood back, waving a hand towards the door. "By all means, go for it, but I'm out. I won't go in with a team member I don't trust."

* Doc seethed. Fine. No one seemed to think he had **** to offer. Alllllrrrrright. It was just a ******* game.. right?

* Dulce waited. "Is everyone done?" She had enough of this. "We have a job to do, yes? Orders? Seriously think we all would be tasting lead or our leaders foot up our asses right about now with this display. What is our jobs? Emertitus..?" Looks at him. "What are you expected to do?"

<Karina> "Nix...you trust him or you wouldn't work for him or give him ****. Doc was just trying to have a level head about what we are walking into instead of going in blind. Seriously...it's fine. Everyone get their ******* panties out of a bind and let's get this done. Last thing I want is to fail this and piss off Vel and Micah?"

* Dulce felt her teeth clench. She was getting pissed. "We can entertain group therapy later. focus for fucks sake!"

* Karina jutted her hand out to Dulce. "Thank you! Let's go." She grabbed Doc's hand and made her way toward the castle door.

* Emeritus rolled his eyes, the slightest bit of frustration settling in "each and everyone one of us is Tytonidae, yes? we're here because we are good at what we do." eyed them each individually "even if we don't all get along, we do what we're told. I was told to get here and grab one of these motherfuckers. I assume you all were as well? so let's do this!"

* Dulce planned on handing out gold stars if they actually got in there and got their asses back out as planned prior.

* Doc give -zero- fucks as Micah says. He was merely trying to be ******* proactive; as Rina drags him the **** ALONG. He would rather be voted off. It was a fuckgin option. use it.. you ******* pansies.

* Phoenix gave Rina one of those looks and then sighed. Perhaps she was overly paranoid, but this behavior from Doc seemed strange. "Fine, but if he fucks us over, he's gone. Agreed?"

Though the redhead didn't bother to wait for an answer to her question before stalking off towards the castle door. A few steps later, she froze and pulled out the maps she'd printed earlier, handing out one each. "You guys should study these for a bit. Impy directed us to this," she jabbed a finger at one of the rooms closest to the door, "room. We go in, set up base, prepare, and when the appropriate dude wanders by, we pounce."

* Dulce eyed doc as Nix spoke. "I have no issue tossing him out the first window." She shook her head. He had something going on but for now he was hands, eyes and so help him he better be ready to use them.

* Dulce shook Rina's hand.

* Doc gave Dutch a '******* Thank you' look.

* Karina wanted to growl and shoot everyone that wanted spoke about voting people out of the group or tossing them out. "We are a team...voting someone 'off the island' is not an option. Get that out of your minds and focus on boss baddie and peon baddie, nabbing them and getting the **** back to the tree house."

* Dulce took the map and looked at Prince Charming. Her icy blues drifted briefly to Doc and narrowed as he gave her that look she knew quite well. She bunched up her sinfully thick lips and blew a mock kiss at him.

* Phoenix was going to argue with Rina, but instead she kept quiet. It wasn't the time for petty bickering. "Whenever you guys are ready, by all means..."

* Dulce folded up her map and was more than ready.

* Doc moved forward to do whatever the Nix wanted.

* Karina looked at the map that Nix had provided. Studying for a bit and then moved towards the castle to the room for base of operations.

* Doc is still waiting to be voted the **** off the team.

* Phoenix stared at Doc expectantly. "Are you going in or are you going to toss your toys out of the pram and stomp off to sulk about Rina?"

<Doc> 'What about her? Did you ******* vote her off instead?!" He snorted in irritation.

<Doc> "Because its all rush rush rush.. I am trying to be voice of reason.. But no I am fuckign stick in the mud... I should just rush right not knowing where the ******* I am going.. cause YOU say so.. When on the other hand.. if I am voted off.. I am getting lucky with Mortll... "

* Dulce narrowed her eyes. "Stop thinking about your ******* dick, Doc."

* Emeritus looked at them all "I got this." He threw the door open and stepped inside. "**** me," he mumbled, the three vampires seemed oblivious to his presence, immediately clinging the wall without a sound

<Doc> She asked why.. I answered.. **** you Dutch. *grumps* Where the **** if Em?

* Karina let her eyes grow wide as she listened to Nix and nudged her hard in the ribs, whispering to her. "Leave him be..." Perking her brow at Doc as he seemed to assume that anyone was getting voted 'off the island'. "Seriously...fight it out if you want. Doc you aren't a stick in the mud, so knock it the **** off. Nix, I see why you are asking what you are but with his current irritation, it's just flamebaiting. So you can all continue on or figure **** out. I'm going to check on Em and see what's taking so ******* long."

* Phoenix shook her head in annoyance, giving Dulce a desperate look. "Lets just get in and then we'll decide Mr. Pita's fate. Alright?" Though... she did have to admit Doc had a point. Where was Emeritus. The question was answered a split second later as she watched Emeritus burst through the doors and pretty much announced his presence to the world. It took the redhead a few moments and a half dozen blinks to comprehend the stupidity she’d just witnessed.

* Karina turned on her heel and talked to the door. Sticking only her head in, she saw him planted against the wall with three baddies across the way. A sigh slipped from her as she instantly shrouded herself in a blanket of shadows. Invisible to all, she walked in with ease. Stopping in front of Em, she gave a soft chuckle and whispered. "For your rash decision...I'm going to make you sweat a little. Good luck baby bro!" She moved passed the group with ease and got to the empty room, summoning Nix in first.

* Doc watched at Nix disappeared. "What I wouldn't give to see her summoned into the middle of a wall..." He said to no one specific.

* Dulce at least he was paying attention and she would take that **** you as a sign he was back in the mindset and raise it again if she had to. She was that god damned inspirational when the need was there.

Dulce was right in line taking to the entry and allowed the power of alter ego take its course. "Moving in." Was all she said as she made her way through the doors ready to do what was planned.

* Phoenix was just about to round on Doc along with Dulce when her world vanished. A split second later, she reappeared, thankfully managing to keep quiet. "Thanks Rina... Where's everyone else?" she asked telepathically; the last thing they needed now was to be overheard. Before Karina could even reply, however, Nix went about emptying her pack of the tools they would need.

* Dulce was in for a surprise when she was noticed even with the confidence in her power to go in without being seen. So much for that plan. She was finding this far more annoying that it should be.

* Karina summoned each of them, one by one after Nix. Em was the last to be summoned, but he did rush in, threatening to ruin the whole operation. He was young, couldn't fault him for that but she would try and teach him a lesson in the process.

* Phoenix glanced up as the others appeared, fixing both Em and Doc with a harsh, disapproving look. The moment didn't last, however, and she simply returned to setting up the shock cage.

* Emeritus sighed and lowered his eyes "Yeah, sorry about that." He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.

* Doc gave Em a nudge that clearly said '**** her shes a ******* *****' and winked at him.

* Emeritus smirked and chuckled, giving him a knowing nod.

* Karina went to work as soon as everyone was safely in the room. They needed a safe evening so they could start again after the sun went down.

* Doc counted, as he focused. Things were finally moving along. He wanted this to work without any more hitches; so he stayed where he was unmoving until he was directed to.

* Phoenix glared between the two of them, though mainly at Doc. "Alright, that's it, Doc. You don't want to be here? You want to **** your faction and go get laid? Go. I don't trust you at this point not to grab some metal rods and start banging them together to draw attention to yourself just 'cause." Knowing she wouldn't get anywhere with Rina, her eyes flicked between Dulce and Em. "Who else wants him and his ******** attitude elsewhere?"

* Emeritus shrugged "I'm fine with him here. Not like that was his fault or anything."

* Karina growled as Nix confronted Doc again. Instantly she pulled out two sets of handcuffs. One was attached to Doc and the other attached to Nix, then the opposite ends were attached to a separate arm of Rina's. She assaulted every one of them in their minds as her telepathy came across with a sound of anger. "Knock it the **** off. We are going to get this done. No one is going home. And we are going to prove to Vel and Micah that we can get a job done, no matter how we might rub each other the wrong way. Another person that wants to go home or send someone home...will be attached to me. Sit down, shut up, and work the **** together.”

* Doc gets handcuffed to Rina. Still wondering what the **** he did?! He gave Em a look that said 'run dude.. run fast before someone puts a ******* bullseyes on your back'; and as much as Doc wanted to rail and argue and SHOOT Nix. He didn't; he was quiet, he counted. He was ******* hating on Nix at at the moment. Doc makes sure he can get the knife on his calf. Cause if Nix goes down, he will hack Nix's arm off to get Rina free. It was his duty. Yes. Yes it was.

* Emeritus laughed and shook his head, despite everything their little rivalry amused him

* Phoenix stared at the cuff encircling her wrist in sheer disgust. This wasn’t practical. How the **** was she supposed to fight attached to two other people? The answer, unfortunately, was badly. Annoyance flowed through her as she knew exactly what she had to do. With her free left hand, she reached down and gripped the thumb of her right. Gritting her teeth to steel herself against the pain, Nix jerked her hand twisted until the bones snapped with a wet crunch. Another jerk and the bones cracked again, while those already broken grated together audibly. Once her hand was sufficiently malleable, the redhead yanked it free of the handcuff. Anger evident in those honey brown eyes, she rounded on Rina. ”Don’t do that again. Ever.”

“Pray tell me what we need him for, Dulce,” she seethed, healing the broken hand. ”He’s standing there, doing nothing.”

* Doc grinned as Phoenix broke herself to get free.. He couldn't help but whisper in a Gomez Addams’' voice "It's Just you and me now Cherie..."

* Dulce looked at the antics as she stood there feeling like a sitting pigeon with a bullseye on her back the more people continued ******* around. Handcuffs, impersonations and she was now in the Lionelli alerts. "Toss him in there to get the ********. that will keep him busy."

<Emeritus> “He also seems to think in a bit of a tactical way, perhaps we could use his tips.”

<Karina> "Then quit trying to send people home. We are all in the building, just need to grab and go at this point. So do I need to cast a ritual for the night or can you all behave?" Perked her brow with a small smile at Doc's words. "Oh...you want to be handcuffed to me. Well...should have said so sooner, I keep them in my bag."

* Phoenix rolled her eyes, too damn annoyed to even speak as she massaged the cramp out of her hand. Someone else could lead; she'd done her part, her trap was set, and she was ready to mind block the target as soon as they stepped into it. She ended up with her back pressed against the wall. "You guys do what you want and let me know what the **** it is you want me to do, because if none of you are going to listen to the most experienced person in the room, I'll just shut the **** up."

* Emeritus sighed "I don't think it's really going to work if everyone sticks with this either or business. We have some great minds here, yeah? Put them together instead of against each other." He smirked "It's practical."

* Karina rolled her eyes, a ritual would be a good idea to get them through the night. It might also prevent them from killing each other before the task was finished. "We can be partial to what needs to be done. Get the **** over it Nix. It would be the same if you and Blake were on the team together. Hell...I would have probably thrown up by now if you were."

* Doc nodded. "Nix is right. I need to go." He looked at Rina "She is the most experienced. You know it. I know it. Unlock me."

* Karina shook her head as she glared at him. "You aren't going anywhere. You are just as useful...hell more useful than me. You're staying. We just need to get boss baddie and peon baddie, then done. Vel and Micah can take it from there."

<Doc> "Fine I will stay.. but you do need to unlock me.. " He winks at her, "You can lock me up later.."

* Karina eyed him a moment and then reluctantly unhandcuffed him. "You better not be lying to me...I will shoot you without hesitation." She needed to cool her anger, her 'mini-Nix' was showing which she tried to hide from everyone. releasing herself from the cuffs as well, she put them back in her bag while she grumbled to herself.

* Phoenix focused on Dulce, lest she take a knife to Doc's eyeballs. While it would be satisfying, it was hardly the best long term plan. She hoped Dulce would see reason, here. "Karina, your judgement is clouded by wanting him as badly as you do. Em... you're just too young to get this ****."

* Dulce growled behind her parted lips. She felt like she was being subjected to some oddly played out lovers scene in some soap opera that she was being tortured subliminally to endure. Was that right? Maybe it was just her. Likely was. She only hoped someone would shoot her if she ever sounded like those two did.

* Doc stood calmly by, well after he blew a kiss a to Phoenix.

* Emeritus nodded, keeping his tone low and respectful "I'm young, but I just don't see what we aim to accomplish with the bickering. Obviously there's issues here but we do have a task at hand, just want the focus on that rather than a personal squabble."

<Phoenix> "You don't want to get rid of Doc? Fine. Let me go. I can't work like this - no, I refuse to work like this. So can we vote me the **** off before I shoot someone in the ******* face? How's that sound?"

<Emeritus> that sounds...terrible. is there no medium ground for either of you?

<Phoenix> "No," she snapped. As far as she was concerned, this had been clear ages ago.

* Karina nodded as she looked at Em. "Agreed and we should be fine from now on but...not one word to Mama Owl. Seriously...not one word. I think she would be pissed that her spawn had issues with a simple task." Instantly shooting a glance at Nix. "You aren't leaving either. You know this **** hole...your knowledge is important."

<Karina> "Then we are at an impasse, Nix. You shoot...I shoot....gain attention from the Lionelli and then just grab and haul *** before we die.." She growled while her voice was filled with anger and sarcasm. "Love your new plan."

<Doc> She does. She said so. I dont know ****. It is clear.. that for her.. it is best I leave. *he took Rina's hand and kissed it* It is in the best interests of the group.. that I take my leave.... Kick *** everyone@!

Doc teleported home.

* Emeritus sighed and shrugged "So four of us then?"

* Karina gave Doc a stern look as he spoke. She tried to grip his hand as he brought it to her hand to his lips but she couldn't move fast enough to counter his actions as he teleported from the castle. A low rumbling growl slipped from her as she pulled out a clip and a silver sharpie, writing Doc's name on both sides, ensuring that she saves that clip just for him.

<Phoenix> A single brow arched as she watched the room. When Doc vanished, she shrugged. "I wonder what happens when someone takes a raft off the island... Then again, the way I see it, we can get this done with 4 people, sans drama, or we can try to do it while having to deal with distracting flirting and bickering. So... if you want him back, summon him back. If you don't. Say so and we can all ******* move on, and get this job done."

<Emeritus> “Just ready to get on with this myself.”

* Phoenix hid a smirk behind her hand as she settled in to wait. Reaching out to Micah, she informed him of the night's outcome. She set her wraith to watching the trap; if one of the Lionelli wandered by, he was to wake them at once. Before drifting off to sleep, her mind was filled with Micah's voice. The redhead blinked. "Rina... Summon Zakar. He's our new Doc."

* Karina just stared at Nix, blinking occasionally but she was in shock with all that had just happened. As the order was given, she reacted as she should even though she was pissed about Doc walking away and the group outside of herself choosing that it was a good idea that he was gone. Resting against her bag after Zakar joined the group, she curled up in the corner and went to sleep.

<Emeritus> smiled, well then that's that yeah? just ready for what you have for plan b."
