Wild Growth (Serry/Mome)

Post by Momento »

[Night of the Auction after Momento's meeting with Alex]

Momento: You’ll need to make arrangements so you are able stay at my house for the duration of your auction time. That means telling Jan you won’t be home.

Serendipity: Fine, whatever.

Momento: You’ll need pajamas because I don’t allow people to sleep naked at my house.

Serendipity: What are pajamas? Why can’t I sleep naked? I like sleeping naked against the sheets it’s comfortable.

Momento: Because I don’t allow it. Pajamas, Serendipity.

Serendipity: Fine, i’ll get Jan to get me some.

Momento: Good. No slutty lingerie ****, either.

[Down time waiting for the Full Moon]

Momento had put a time frame in with Serendipity so that her time with Alexandrea would be over when Serry’s started with the intent of not splitting or wasting their time or her own, but she’d known the moment Serendipity entered the auction she’d be the one to end up with her. Mostly because she didn’t have any qualms spending the small fortune she had on buying the woman. Now, why buy a person you can see anytime you want and have easy access to their friendship? Easy. That was friendship, but this was slavery. Momento truly owned her for three whole days and that idea alone was enough for Mome to spend every dime she had if she had too.

In fact, Serendipity was already the proud owner of a gift from Momento in the form of a lovely necklace, or collar, whatever you want to call it. And so Mome debated having Serry wear it for the duration, but that might be pushing it a bit. The fight that had ensued from that one thing had lasted for far too long and really, she wasn’t going to deal with that fight again. It wasn’t worth it. So instead she’d just asked that Serry wore pajamas, because really that wasn’t that serious and she didn’t want to deal with a naked person in her house. Unless she was dissecting them. No, she wasn’t going to do that to Serendipity, so she’d insisted on pajamas. Lesson the risk of accidentally killing her in the middle of the night, or something.

Mome didn’t do anything special to prepare the house, no special super cleaning or anything, as it was already kept in pristine condition, but she did decide to make sure all the traps were gone. Even on visits to the place Serry liked to wander around and staying the night meant she’d likely go to get up and use the restroom and blow herself to bits or get a drink of water and walk into a trap that would leave her stuck for a while. It wasn’t really going out of her way, she told herself, just an effort to be courteous. “Just keep telling yourself that,” she said out loud to herself, shaking her head.

It was a lie, after all, she was trying to go some what out of her way for Serendipity. No one else would put up with her in general and Serry had to do it for three whole days and nights without a break. Momento knew that would be hard on anyone, and specifically she knew it would be hard on their friendship. Maybe it would ruin it all together and then she’d really have no one left. She tried to push that loneliness from her heart, knowing that soon - soon - Alexandrea would work whatever magic she had that would combat the sadness in her heart, but for now there was nothing to do but make preparations and convince herself that she wasn’t actually doing it because Serry was special to her more than anyone else if she were friends with them. But that was exactly why Serendipity was special - Melody didn’t have any other friends. She’d shut herself off from others a long time ago, and only Serry had head butted at the walls until she finally got inside, even a little bit.

“And what do you give her for it? You get pissy with her and treat her like she’s the insane one. You cut off her fiances leg over being hugged. You’re so fucked up you’re lucky she sticks around,” again Melody was talking to herself. As if she could chastise this ‘Momento’ personality that wasn’t really the personality she was born with, but reborn with when she changed. She didn’t want to debate the logistics of talking to herself, though, she just accepted that she did it. “Maybe if Alex can’t fix this your best bet is to go to the shadow realm. Serry would join you, she wanted to stay, you forced her back.” Momento sighed heavily, thinking about how selfish it was for her to make Serendipity come back. But it wasn’t like she could let her only friend stay there.

Melody brought her head up and looked around the room she’d been making for Serry. It was black, with pink pillows. A mix of Serry and herself that she figured the other woman could deal with. “You know, either way, she’s going to get married and leave you. You aren’t worth the headache to have around. Even Sliver leaves you for long periods of time and he loves you. He turned you. He made you,” she spoke to herself, bringing her eyes up to the mirror and seeing the corpse she truly was look back at her. “Pathetic. You’ll be all alone, forever, Momento. You are no Melody.”

[The Night after the Full Moon]

Momento picked up her phone, her eyes glancing over it once, twice, and then a third time before she finally pulled Serendipity’s number up. She flicked her thumb over the screen and started typing out the text message.

Momento: So, you dealing with Jonah or whatever?

She didn’t wait for a reply, but she did stick her phone in her back pocket as she toured her own house, this time she ran her fingers over some of the plants and took in the details that she’d picked out ages ago. The custom rugs she’d had made for her floors, the computer room she had never bothered to even enter after selecting all the proper pieces. The dead room of chairs and tables that she could remember using all of once before she’d gone into her depression. Then to the bathroom, which she’d used frequently considering she’d built in a system that turned the whole thing into a gas chamber. It could be the best shower ever or the worst, depending on her own mood. Then there was the rooms for guests. Guests because Lamprey wasn’t about to stay in this house and because the other room had been for her childer, whom she’d already forgotten the name of.

It wasn’t like Momento wanted kids, in fact she pretty much had always felt childer were useless, but that didn’t change the fact that at one point she rather liked the idea of someone to teach and help. From a distance, maybe, she’d try again eventually with that help thing. Childer? Meh, she still doubted it. Serry had a few she could ‘baby’ if she felt the need to be some sort of parent. She swept past the guest rooms finally, making her way back to the living room to flop down on the over-sized corner couch, her brow lifting as she brought the now buzzing phone from her pocket to her eyes. "Well, at least she isn't off ******* Jan. Or maybe she is, wouldn't put it past her 'special abilities'," Mome spoke to the empty room.

Serendipity didn't like the thought of this pajamas thing. Not one bit. She simply couldn't understand why someone would even wear them. Then again, the thought struck her that it was Momento and Momento was different. To deal with Mome and love her took a lot of time, patience and understanding. All of which Seren had and all of which she was willing to use to be around her, though, she didn't really think it took anything to be around Momento. Seren loved her. Whole heartedly loved the woman. There wasn't anything that Serendipity would not do for Momento and it was that thought in mind that she packed her bag for the three day stay.

She had heard her phone go off but she was so busy packing that it took her a few moments to get to it. The things she called pajamas that she had Jan buy were now safely in her bag. Her shoes, socks, underwear, pants and shirts. Also, she brought some work out clothing just in case of laziness as those were either booty shorts and a tank top or her jogging pants and a old tee shirt. Both sets were packed.

It was then that she grabbed her phone and then smiled before sending a message back to her. "I'm yours for three days Momento. No Jonah till after. I've sent him a message. You just let me know when you want me there, since you're so eager." She smirked at the comment she ha sent back to the woman, always testing her patience and limits. That was how they got along.

For her, Jan was her other half. They were two halves of one whole. The same in every way, including the way they thought about everything. Never an argument about anything, other than the recent Siring of his new childe which she was still trying to get over. That situation had put the wedding on hold. She was a brat though and her time with him, whenever she wanted it, shouldn't have to be split. That was her thinking anyway. She would be fine in the end though. She always was.

Momento for her, was something different from Jan. Momento was hard to deal with at times. Complex. Stubborn. Bratty. Selfish. A real pain in the ***..... She was Serendipity and she knew it. On the outside, she was a tough, hard core bad ***. On the inside? She was a scared girl. Scared and scared. To the core, she was. Seren understood that and took the time with Momento. She loved the woman. There wasn't anything she would not do, including not being in relationships with people or getting married to anyone.

Momento had forbid her to bind to Jan. Marry, yes. That was allowed and Jan had to go and get her permission to do so as well. He did, without question. He knew Momento as well. She thought of herself as Seren's keeper of sorts. Jan was very good with her and even when she was lashing out when she was angry... Jan never complained. It was the perfect family. Mome took up the spot of a wife, if Seren were to ever have one as that was their relationship in an odd way and Jan was to be her husband. Her life was complete with them both.

After she had text Mome back, she packed another bag filled with her things for everyday use. Yanno, make-up, hair stuff, deodorant. The standard stuff. Three bags later and she was ready to go, maybe. She always had, after all, packed like Barbie. Even when she was young but again, she did grow up a spoiled brat. Looking over her bags, she took a seat on the bed and then, the wonder came in. Why? Why would Mome go to all this trouble? What did she had in store? After that thought, the nerves took hold as she waited for her text back, almost dreading it now.

As Momento’s eyes scanned that text message she wondered, again, and couldn’t stop herself from making the smart *** comment. Mostly because Serry had already started in and they were both good enough at this game that it made it fun.

Momento: Ah, well, good to know. You can come over whenever you're done with Janoric’s funtimes. Awesome talent you have there, Serry.

Momento: Make sure you grab a shower or towel off after before you head over.

A sparkle hit her eyes as she hit send on that last one, cackling to herself, in her own smug little way. She might be some form of a prude, but Serry was her exact opposite and damn it it was hard not to take pot shots at her. Specially since Serendipity had taken up her ‘hug and run’ crap. In fact that thought had given her the first idea of the night for her friend. Without hestiation she moved from the couch to the entry hall, pushing one of the chairs off to the side, then moving the table over by it, leaving one chair squarely in the middle of the custom rug.

As soon as Serendipity got in the house they were going to have a tiny little chat. Just enough to set down some ground rules, besides the pajamas, and then perhaps the rest of the nights surprises could be arranged in a timely manor. Or, Mome thought, she’d go running from the building and she’d spend the next few hours summoning her back or chasing her. Neither of those sounded fun. Specially since it would ruin the rest of the night. No, that wouldn’t happen, she had enough faith in her friend to hope that she’d just sit, listen, and understand without having a cow and bolting.

Momento: Don’t use your tome. Come in the front door, please.

She sent the last text and waited patiently. A feat in and of itself for Momento.

As Seren sat there, awaiting further instructions, and a smart *** comment back that she knew she would get, she thought about all the times she had had with the woman. A smile came to her face. Anything from the fights to the times where they would nit pick at one another. All in love, if Momento would agree to it or not. She knew, in some way, that Momento loved her and for Seren, that was enough to make her happy enough.

The message did come through a moment later and she snatched her phone. She laughed at the message and then sent her one back. "Awww honey. Don't be like that. You get me for 3 whole days and nights..... Imagine it. The possibilities are endless." She smirked and hit send. That alone would be enough to ruffle that woman's feathers. She did so hate when Seren mentioned the thought of screwing her. It was like the thought of sex grossed Momento out of something. She got quite a kick out of it.

She was about to tome over when her phone went off again. She read it and blinked. The front door? Serendipity had never been through the front door before. In fact, she was curious if anyone at all had ever been through the front door but Momento and maybe Sliver. The thought confused her. What was the woman playing at this time?

She sighed. She had her instructions and like them or not, she had to follow them. She grabbed her bags and slung them over her shoulder, using the wheels on the other to let it roll behind her and off she went, headed for the train station. She was terribly nervous now. There was something going on and she didn't like this one bit.

As she arrived at the front door, she stood there looking at it. Again, she couldn't even recall if she had ever even seen the front door. The only reason she knew where to go was the address. She knew the address well. She had memorized it in case of any teleporting or should she had to get someone over there for either of them for any reason. She did that at several places but, of course, this one was the most important as nothing to her was more important than keeping Momento alive. Mostly, because it was of no importance to the woman herself and someone had to look out for her.

After a few moments of staring, Seren took in a deep yet unneeded breath and finally, she knocked. Her bags were at her feet now in front of her and off to the side. Her nerves were shot, though she would never tell her that nor let on that she was. She just stood there, as she should have and waited for the woman to open the door, her mind ever full of wonder and curiosity as to what lay behind the door.

She heard the other at the door before the knock ever came. In fact it was hard to open it without any look on her face while she was almost bursting at the seams, but Momento was practiced at keeping her deadpan expression that would betray nothing. It was just how she coped normally so adding that to the current situation was a piece of cake. “Come in,” she said almost as calm, the barest quiver in her voice letting on that she wasn’t quite as emotionless as she pretended to be.

Melody took the other woman’s bags from her and placed them off to the side, near the pushed aside chair and table, before she gestured for Serendipity to take a seat in the chair. “Take a seat.” She waited, eyes watching pretty much every move the other made, taking note of her mannerisms and when Serendipity took her seat Momento walked up to her as calm as she could muster. “Alright, here are the rules.”

“One. You will not contact anyone while you are here, not even with telepathy, unless there is an extreme emergency. As in, Jan better be dead or dying, and anyone else can **** off,” she smiled at that. “And I promise I won’t kill him, so I think we’ll be fine.”

“Two. You will not run around my house naked. Not ever. You can shower as you wish, but you will wear a towel from the bathroom to your room.”

“Three. I expect you to keep everything that happens in this house to yourself, end of. No telling anyone. Not the love of your life or the love of mine, because quite frankly if they aren’t here then they don’t matter. And if you tell anyone, ever, anything that happens I will make sure your eternity is a living hell. I will walk out of your life, Serendipity, but not before I cut off or shoot off body parts. You said no death. I don’t kill you. But I won’t tolerate you breaking my trust either.”

“Four. Try not to act shocked at everything. It’s not good for my personal state of mind.”

“Do you understand and agree to the rules of your stay in my house for the next three days?” Momento hadn’t paused between her rules, getting them all out before Seren could make some smart *** comment or something, but now she had too and she was almost positive that something snarky was going to come out. That was just how this worked. Either Serry would agree to them outright, she’d argue the hell out of them, or she’d walk out and Mome would chase her *** down or summoner her back until she agreed. Thinking of their colored past arguments, Momento would win even if it took hours upon hours of forcing her point until Serry just couldn’t take it anymore. Mean maybe, harsh prolly, but this was Momento and she wasn’t going to take no for an answer.

Re: Wild Growth (Serry/Mome)

Serendipity was always one to feel things strongly. Probably why her feelings and heart got broken so easily. It was easier or worse, however you would want to look at it, with the ones she loved. Didn't really matter what they were feeling, she could pick up on it as it they were her own feelings. Empath they used to call her in her small circle of friends when she was human.... when she had friends. They never stayed that long.

It was armed with this skill that she had no choice but to smile at Momento after she opened the door and spoke. Not because she was happy to see her, but she was as always, but because she could feel her excitement. However and why ever Momento was excited, it was not of importance. The important thing to Seren was, she was happy to see her. Happy she was there. Happy to get to spend the time with her. That was enough.

As Momento pointed to the chair though, Seren got worried. The set up looked like a parent getting ready to scold a child. She bit against the side of her lip. What if this was all about Momento wanting to punish her before she was finally through with her ******** for good? What if this was all a grand scheme to get her alone, make her sit there and listen as Momento told her all the things she had seen that made Seren so fucked up for three whole days? Making her essentially emotionally naked and breaking her spirit while she laughed and tormented her before finally, throwing her out? No. No, Momento wouldn't do that, would she?

Serry was more than nervous now as she moved to her seat and sat down across from her, bracing herself for what was about to happen. She blinked as the woman began to speak, trying to listen carefully. Oh. Rules.... Wait.... Rules? She wasn't aware there were to be rules just for her buying her in an auction and staying here for three days. Seren's head did tilt to the side just a tad while she listened. She felt like she was five years old again in the study with her father. Him sitting across from her as she listened to the rules of the house before they went away again. Her nodding, him speaking. Her terribly confused and him thinking she understood every rule.

Serendipity nodded her head to Momento as she spoke and then, she softly, slowly and only at head length raised her hand as the rules had finished. "I don't mean to question but..... why?" It was a simple question. Wasn't complicated nor confusing. She really wasn't trying to be questioning nor confusing. Not even trying to argue. She was genuinely confused. "I don't get why I will have to keep everything to myself, even from Jan. I mean.... I will I guess but I just don't understand why....."

Seren did then smile softly as she looked at her and then shook her head. "I'm generally not shocked at the things you do Mome. I've learned to desensitize myself over the years. I wish I could get you there as well. Makes me a bit sad at times but, ill be fine, I'm sure. I can handle it for three days." She commented and then gave her a reassuring nod. Momento liked reassurances after all and Seren knew it. She tried.

After the rules and questions had been placed, there was even more worry as to what would come next in Seren's mind. This was, after all, a place where Mome had all the control. All the things she had said over the years of them together and yet, she was now trapped in her fortress like place with no communication with the outside world for three days. Completely at Momento mercy. This.... This was going to get mighty interesting.

Why.

Well damn. She hadn’t figured -that- would come out of her mouth. It prolly should have been obvious and maybe to someone normal it would have been, but damn it she hadn’t even slightly seen that coming. So much so that her brow actually furrowed as she tried to come up with a reasonable, normal, reason on why. The problem was it wasn’t reasonable and maybe not even necessary, but she wanted the control on who knew what and how they knew it. Serendipity had to fight her way in, but that wasn’t a blanket to everyone around her. Momento scrunched her nose and shrugged in defeat of her own mind. If she wanted to know why, for this time, Mome would be honest with her friend and herself.

“Because I don’t trust anyone. You’re here, not them. They don’t need to know.” That was as much as Momento could give, because it was her honest train of thought, and she knew that Serendipity would accept that since there was no other answer to be given, though she might make her explain her answer further, it was enough as far as Mome was concerned.

She shifted on her feet, obviously tired by the interaction and it had just started, but she forced herself to get past this first little glitch that she’d known would come in some form. Plus it helped that Serry had agreed to the rules, and was just wondering what the deal with them was. Even with her reassurance Melody though ‘yeah right’ but she’d give this a shot anyway. It wasn’t like she was talking about.. well... she sighed again. Why did this **** have to be so hard.

“You’ll try. We’ll see. Maybe vampires can die of heart attacks.” Momento rolled her shoulders back and settled herself firmly on her feet, her eyes staring deep into Seren. “Come on, let’s go put your stuff away,” Melody said again without emotion leading the way into the back guest rooms and specifically to the black with hints of pink one she’d done up for her guest.

Serendipity sat in the chair across from Momento in that living room. Quietly watching her. She was usually pretty good at reading them. Not like a psychiatrist. No. Just good at reading them. Body language and all. It was something that she had picked up at an early ago. Something that came as easy to her as eating or talking, which as a child she did a lot of. No. She was just trying to figure out what was going on. She was one of the few in the world that Seren couldn't read. Even from day one.

Momento had to do this thing, which was probably a defense mechanism, she figured. She would be so excited like a small child and yet, look stoic. Mad as all hell and yet, she would be smiling. She was an enigma wrapped in an enigma. With one small exception....her eyes. Seren could look in her eyes and sometimes, just sometimes, there was a hint of what was going on behind those beautiful eyes. Seren loved the mystery in her though. It was entertaining.

Finally, as the words came, Seren listened. She listened and then, after a few moments of processing, she grinned. It was exactly what she had expected. Nothing straight forward and yet, laced with one truth. It was because Momento wanted it that way. No other real reason. "Alright darling. I was merely curious is all." It was all she commented back. After all, Momento wanted this. She would have it. She felt the need to drop a large amount of money on this three days. Three days that she could have had with Seren any time she wanted. All she had to do was ask. Instead, she had went to great lengths to make sure that she got her in the auction. Okay. She would play along. If she wanted it this way, this was the way it would be.

As Momento stood, Seren did as well. The pleasantries were done and now, it was time to get settled in, apparently. The three days were about to officially begin. She moved and grabbed her bags quickly and quietly with nothing but a chuckle and a nod. "Yes ma'am, lead the way." She commented as she moved behind her and then, that looming thought appeared. She wasn't going to speak it loudly, just loud enough for her to hear, faintly. "Unless we are headed to that bathroom in which case, I think ill have to object."

It wasn't that Serendipity could die. She knew that. Not from that room. Lots of unpleasant things had happened in that room, however. She knew it and could feel it the night she had stumbled into that room by accident. The air was a little thicker. The room had a distinct smell about it. Blood, sweat, tears and something else. Vomit perhaps? All covered over by scents to mask it. To a normal nose, it would work. Not Seren's though. Vampire senses and all. Ever since, she made sure that, no matter when she had popped over, she avoided that room entirely. For all she knew, at the moment, Momento could have company in there. Vampires didn't have to breath, but humans did. Even though vampires didn't have to breath, however, that room could still be terribly unpleasant for them and Mome knew all sorts of creative ways, she was sure. So, human or vampire alike. She wasn't wanting to find someone in there.... maybe a select couple, but that was it.
