Dispel (Mome/Alex)
Momento wasn't one for words or body language beyond her general aura of ‘**** off and die’ which fit her thoughts on the population of Harper Rock perfectly. Even as she walked out of Lancaster’s it felt like she couldn't breathe and be herself until she was home. She’d call Serendipity later before she went to bed to talk about their days together, but Alexandrea was another story. That part she could at least discuss tonight, but far away from prying ears. In fact she was sure that if anyone dared to **** with her about this, or if Alex dared to laugh about it, Melody would blow their ******* brains out. Which really just proved her entire point about being a completely different person then she was before. She wished she could drink or smoke or something, but it was killing and torture that took her to her happy place.
The thin voluptuous brunette closed those long lashes and remembered back to a time when she was fun. Fun. Like parties and concerts fun. When she could stand to be around people. She’d started to think that maybe Sliver’s pure coldness he gave to so many others had been passed to her through their bite, because she couldn't actually remember harboring the dark hatred for people before him, but as she figured it was more likely he could just see it inside of her and turning her made her that much more in touch with that side of herself.
Melody groaned her annoyance.
She came back to the present and turned to Alexandrea, pointing in the direction in which she wanted to follow, which would take them to the transit. She’d gotten used to walking, her muscles enjoyed the motion, she wondered if Alex minded though didn't say anything.
“I like to walk and talk, and when I’m done you can go home and do what you need to do. We’ll meet up tomorrow night if at all possible. I’m guessing the moon temple will work, but if not I’ll even let you chose the location.” She skirted the reason she’d actually bought Alex until she was positive they were away from any prying ears. “I’d like your word that you will not speak of anything that happens in your three days of servitude under penalty. I can think of something creative in the way of torture, but I’d prefer to not have too, and prefer you to just accept the term to not speak about anything with anyone but myself that concerns me.”
Melody put in place that perfect Momento smile that screamed psychotic innocence. “I’m careful, you see, who knows what and why they know.”

Re: Dispel (Mome/Alex)
The auction never did go as Alex hoped but this year beat the crap out of the last time she had tried it. She had been very flattered by all the bids, no matter from who they were, but having reached such a high bid from someone she had so much respect for had the blonde walking on cloud nine even before Momento led the way ahead, setting the pace.
Alexandrea enjoyed walking enormously and said so with a grin as Lancaster's was left behind them. The Allurist stayed silent while the two women began to walk together and before long she was hard pressed to not try and take a poke around in her fellow sister's mind. Alexandrea had already regretted that she didn't know Momento better but as her friend continued talking, the blonde was sure that something was really bothered the brunette.
Alex didn't bother talking out loud, she hoped Momento didn't mind. But lying when speaking mind to mind was something Alexandrea wouldn't or perhaps even couldn't do. *I give you my word I won't and will take any oaths that you chose. What's wrong?* The Allurist had paused as she sent the message and stepped quickly to catch back up with the taller woman.

Re: Dispel (Mome/Alex)
Ah, that trait of speaking into ones mind. Mome almost flinched from it, but she let it go. She’d been told that usually telepaths don’t actually read your most intimate thoughts, so she figured that Alex wasn’t able to do it. Even if she was high up in her line, Alex wasn’t a true telepath, she was an Allurist, so she figured that ability was beyond her. Though, of course, Momento didn’t know for sure. It was always possible that she’d pick out of her mind what was on it anyway even if Melody chickened out, but she wasn’t in the business of that generally and now wasn’t an exception. “It’s nothing wrong, more...” Momento paused in her thoughts and pursed her lips slightly. “Changed?” she questioned her own choice of word.
“Here’s the deal. I would like you to help me with ridding myself of the negativity and...” again she paused in her thoughts, her eyes turning to look in Alex’s as she finished. “Loneliness.” She sighed deeply and shook her head. “I’m not used to dealing with my emotions and it seems that I’m not able to deal with the losses i’ve come to suffer in my life. So I would like you, Alexandrea, to pull the negativity from me and make it go away. Make me able to be the person I was before sadness and loss took over me. I need someone who believes that even people who are evil can be helped by whatever forces put us here, and I don’t have that belief. I haven’t for a long time.”
Mome realized she was practically pouring her heart out in the middle of a street and like the flick of a switch her whole demeanor changed. She took upon herself that characteristic ***** that shut everything out and drowned the emotions she could feel wisps of. “So. Do you think you can find a spell to dispel the damage that’s been done? Or should I use you as an Allurist test subject instead of Serendipity?”

Re: Dispel (Mome/Alex)
As curious as Alex was to find out what being an Allurist test subject would entail, she didn't let herself get distracted for once and stayed focused on what Momento had said. And a lot of what she didn't say. Not only was Alexandrea very proficient in the path of the Telepath, the empathic skills she had never used much as a human had magnified as a vampire. It actually took an effort for the blonde to not pick up on what others were feeling. And after hearing what the brunette had shared, the blonde had given up trying.
Alexandrea tried to ignore the temptation to pry into other people's business, she was a very curious person so it took a lot of effort to resist looking more deeply into what was going on with Momento. One vibe she was unable to ignore was that the Necromancer wasn't really fond of mindspeak.
"Momento... I am willing to do whatever I can to help. I would have even without you having to buy me at the Auction. You're one of my Sisters. And I like you. Why don't you come with me and we'll talk more, alight? Someplace more private. Like my office at my shop or one of my apartments. " The two were still in Redwood and the mall where Alex had her shop was very close by, just across the street from the train station.
The woman seemed to be feeling a lot like Alex herself had been, and the Allurist wondered if matters of the heart were to blame in Momento's case as well. If it was to do with a man, perhaps the two could help each other to deal with their feelings and move on. At the very least the two of them would both be a little less lonely for awhile as they tried to address what Momento wanted to to.
"My feelings often get the better of me, so not sure I'm the best person to help someone else deal with theirs but I stay to always stay upbeat and look for the positive in everything." Alex chuckled a bit and then went on; "Well, I sure try at least!"
"If we do end up having to use a spell? I hope you mean what I think you mean as I am not a Ritualist. But... Well. It's been awhile but if I can't find a spell? I'll write one. And the Temple would be the perfect place. But what kind of spell is the question... if it comes to that. If it does then tomorrow night might not be the best time. It depends a lot on the moon and other variables. And I'll need to ask you some personal information, Momento. Like when and where you were born, if possible."

Re: Dispel (Mome/Alex)
“I.. Yes. A spell, not a ritual. I don’t need Fae help, I need...” she scrunched up her lips slightly. “Divine Intervention.” She laughed at that, shaking her head. “I’m insane. This won’t work, I know it won’t, but I’m out of options. And while you may have helped me before, I couldn’t ask until I knew you wouldn’t speak of it, to which I figured could be accomplished with buying you. Though I admit it was a last minute decision for me. Again, I am not generally in the business of anyone getting inside my head and knowing that which I think is or could be damaging to me or mine.”
Calmly Momento glanced up at Alex, her eyes searching for some sort of.. something. Something that told her that Alex just knew things that she didn’t. It’s the same look christians, muslims, buddhists - all of them had. That they believed in something greater than themselves. Momento didn’t have that look. She’d stopped believing in anything but Sliver’s way of death and destruction a long time ago. Besides, why would some higher being allow vampires in the first place? “We can go somewhere else to talk, if you want, and I’ll give you the information you request to do the job I’ve asked you to do.”
Momento looked around and then she took off toward the shop Alexandrea owned, because she knew where that was and it would be less invasive to the other party then her home. Considerate, considering Momento could use the invitation inside against Alex later, but she wouldn’t want someone she trusted to do that. “And I consider you a friend, too, Alexandrea. I’m just hard on my friends. Bullets and blood and better than movies and popcorn.”

Re: Dispel (Mome/Alex)
Any worry over having invited someone into one of her homes being used against her wasn't anything that the frequent traveler to the shadow realm shared with the Necromancer. Having locked doors, booby traps, all kinds of security and secret doors hadn't stopped anyone yet if they had a mind to hunt down and kill the small Allurist. Alex had lost count by then of how many times she had been a target and no longer had any fear of dying. She didn't even bother to lock her doors some times anymore. Really, what was the point?
None of that really entered into Alexandrea's mind, however. She simply agreed with a nod that her shop was best and let Momento set the pace. It was only a few minutes away and so before long the two had entered the 8th dimension mall.
She listened with empathy, feeling a lot of the same things that her fellow sister of the triple moon shared. Alex hoped she would be able to help and perhaps... she could help herself in the process? The Allurist knew she hadn't made a lot of progress on her 'getting over Odin' goal yet.
The blonde hadn't said much, out loud or in Momento's mind, except to make the sort of encouraging and sympathetic sounds that one makes when there just isn't anything to be said but you wanted someone to know that they were being heard.
But when the brunette had shared that she also viewed Alexandrea as a friend, the Allurist had smiled brightly then chuckled at the movies and popcorn comment. "You might be surprised at just how many friends I have that share your... tastes in a good time, Momento. And I'm not much of a fainting flower myself."
"Let's go upstairs to my office, shall we? It's a bit more private and I'll put the kettle on."
Alex gave Momento a warm smile to try and ease the woman's concerns and then pointed to the mall's escalator before taking the lead. She knew the woman couldn't drink tea but Alexandrea never let that stop her anymore from offering. The soothing warm of a fragrant cup of tea could be enjoyed by more ways than taste and a warm bag of blood was always available for Alex's friends that wanted something to actually sip on.

Re: Dispel (Mome/Alex)
Melody thought about what Alex had said as she moved up to the office. The thought of tea was kind of repulsing, but that had to be more to do with the after effects then anything else. She pursed her lips slightly as she found a place to sit herself, sliding into her chair with that ‘not so comfortable to be in a place I don’t know’ type of body language that she seemed to always radiate anyway. “Well, then maybe I’ve come to the right person,” she shrugged thinking that perhaps Alex was part of why they were like Momento, thinking it could easily have something to do with Allurists in general, but that wasn’t right because she’d been this way before Serendipity came to be her friend and Lizzie and Sliver weren’t Allurists. Yeah, it was more likely it was just this evil force that surrounded her all the time. Alex didn’t have that, but she wondered if these other friends did.
Pulling herself back to the current situation she watched at Alex put on her kettle and wished for about the millionth time she could eat something she missed. Like cherries. A really big bag of beautifully bleeding cherries. She smiled to herself at that, thinking that Serry would prolly think her weird if she knew the thing Mome missed most about being human was -cherries- of all things. “So, what else do you need to know? I mean, I’ll be as forthcoming with the information as I can be. Honestly, it’s not like anyone is waiting for me, so I’ve got all night.”

Re: Dispel (Mome/Alex)
Alex set the steaming teapot on the desk near the end when Momento was seated, along with four cups and a warmed pitcher of blood. The tea was a highly aromatic blend of Jasmine and spice. The steam wafted though the small office as Alexandrea went to close the door and locked it. She poured herself a small cup of the tea and with a nod and a smile, communicated to the other woman that she should help herself if she wanted anything.
"I do think you have come to the right person, actually. Granted we really do not know each other that well but as you may already know, I take emotions pretty seriously." Alexandrea chuckled at the understatement and held the cup of tea up to her nose, just breathing in the warm steam and enjoying the rich and exotic scent. She paused a moment, eyelids slightly lowered and picked her next words very carefully.
"You know already that I am an Allurist. And that I've crossed into the path of the Telepath as well. But what you more than likely do not know, and please do keep it to yourself? Is that I am also very emphatic. I think I always was but after being reborn as it were, that and a few other abilities I can't quite call powers have grown a lot more strong. I could very easily pick up on everything that everyone around me is feeling, sometimes even when I do not want to. But I keep myself from doing that. I guess you could call it having up a force field like in Star Trek."
Alex chuckled again and then went on, trying to explain while also being focused on putting out welcoming and soothing vibes to Momento, trying to help put the other woman at ease. Even without any special skills, the necromancers body language showed that she wasn't relaxed. "So, if you wanted me to? I could just 'read' you. But never without yours or anyone's permission beforehand. I feel that it is better for you, if you can express what you are feeling yourself." The Allurist took a sip of her tea and made a face, sitting it down right away and pouring a cup of blood in stead to wash the taste out of her mouth. "It smells a lot better than it tastes, you can take my word on that."
"I am positive you're not insane, Momento. Unless I am also, which I must admit is always a possibility. And I know how much it sucks to be lonely. I am always lonely, even around other people." It was mostly true. There were very few that filled that empty place in Alex's heart that she carried around. Odin was one of them. But he didn't feel the same way and the blonde knew that her just sucking it up and admitting that to herself was long overdue.
"Pulling away all the negativity." Alexandrea smiled softly. "Yes, we can do that. No problem. Casting away the loneliness? We may both need to help each other with that one, Momento. Even if I can bring you closer to Mother Nox?" The blonde's face took on a soft glow as she thought about the Goddess, her strong faith shining out of her eyes. "Being lonely isn't something she can fix for us. We have to fix that ourselves."
The blonde stood up and then got on her laptop. "So let's get to work, shall we? What is your real name, date, time and location of birth, and your favourite colour?" Alex winked at the brunette on the last question. Knowing actually would be a help but ending on that question had been in an effort to lighten the mood. The other questions were so extremely personal. Especially for a Vampire to answer. "Do you like cats?" The blonde asked out of the blue, as Penny caught Alex's eye. Just in case the other woman didn't Alexandrea would send Penny away.

Re: Dispel (Mome/Alex)
Casually she eyes the cups, noting the patterns as she eyed the tea. It did smell good, but Momento was positive that tasting even a tiny bit would make her absolutely sick. Her lip curled slightly at that thought. Even as she was, dealing with all the other stuff in her head, it seemed silly to focus on such a small detail of being able to drink tea and so she let it pass from her mind, focusing more on Alexandrea’s words. Momento didn’t really know how to respond to Alex’s claim of ability. Empathy wasn’t something Melody thought she had anymore, so to be told that someone else had some sort of super empathy made her wonder if it was because somehow they stole it from other people. She certainly didn’t know either way.
Calmly she sat and listened and eyed the surroundings once more, eyes avoiding the tea, until Alex made a quip about how it smelled better than it tasted. Mome smirked at that, shrugging her shoulders back. “Insanity is a frame of mind that one embraces to know they are insane because you can’t possibly believe you are sane if you are insane unless your insanity is mistaken for sanity. If you believe you are sane, then you likely are, Alexandrea. Same for myself believing that I am likely insane.” Momento paused for a moment and pursed her lips slightly. “I have a hollow heart, places and spaces that are empty because I’ve lost my sister and my husband loses himself for long periods of time. I am alone in this world besides the one friend who puts up with me and she will soon be married and I will be alone, completely.”
Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes, trying to remember the look on her sisters face, the way her eyes pierced through everyone. Then her thoughts turned to Sliver and the way he cut through flesh with his scalpel in such precision, his skilled fingers able to take life so easily, his softness only saved for her. “I don’t think any deity will pardon me anyway, but perhaps we’ll see what happens.” Her features stayed perfectly still, shrugging that off as easily as it came out of her mouth. “My real name is Melody Luna Grey, unless you need my maiden name from before I was married, which is Cowen. I was born in Kirksville, Missouri on August 30, 1987 at 10:25am. My favorite color is blood red. I don’t mind most animals, but they typically stay away from me.”

Re: Dispel (Mome/Alex)
"Melody. What a lovely name. I think it suits you."
Alexandrea nodded to herself, and forgot that the cat was there as she typed away at her computer. She took down all the information and did some quick looking around online the old fashioned way until the speed of her laptop's connection got annoying and the blonde went ahead and just did the looking for spells she wanted in her head.
Penny didn't like being ignored and started to weave around Momento's legs as Alex stared blankly at her computer screen, not seeing it and seeing another web page in it's place in her mind.
"I have a few ideas. But we should wait for the full moon. For part one at least. I'd like to do an uncrossing ritual for you as well just in case but the best time for that is after the full moon. And you were born on a Sunday. And you are a Virgo. So much of this may seem a bit impractical to you but there's a few things we'll need to do. And a lot of shopping to be done."
The Allurist was already making a list on a scratch pad, all her focus already on the two spells she was planning for the other woman, everything else around her was tuned out for a moment until Penny picked that time to jump uninvited into the newest lap in town.
"Penny!" The blonde said sharply and then hissed at the young cat, sounding exactly the same as any real cat would.
