The Order: Lost and Found (PM/Invite)

Post by Anemoi (DELETED 2809) »

OOC: Order members and people interested in joining
Anemoi paused as he opened his phone, staring at the contact list. What was he doing? He was a damn loner and now he's making meetings for The Order. No one knew who the hell was in charge now. He was no leader. He hoped someone stepped up. Right now they needed to see who was still around.

He noticed he was staring at Kira's number. He quickly scrolled up to send a message to Mike, he wasn't a fighter but he would be good for support. Even more useful when they both took on vampire powers, though they had different people to help them. People liked Mike, Anemoi wasn't a popular person.

He left a message on The Order board where to meet. He had cleared out the traps before, he kept checking back to make sure they were gone. He didn't even destory them. He was trying to find parts for a camera so he could keep an eye on who was going in. He was having no luck with that, he wondered if any other members had the parts or could make one.

He wondered if they should meet upstairs or stay here. He sat down on one of the benches to wait for people to show up.

Ricky came in and sat down away from him. "Why do I have to be here?" he asked, not at all happy.

"You're useless but I still want to show you off." Anemoi replied.

"**** you." Ricky muttered.

Galahad spotted the notice to meet up online where Paladins and their associates gathered privately to plot and plan meetings, stock, funding, and membership. He couldn't say he had seen too much more of anything, no killing, no attacks on the undead, and no plans for city-wide domination; well, that would all change soon, if he had anything to do with it.

Dressed in long black robs that swept out behind him like Batman’s cloak saw Galahad enter the cathedral relatively unnoticed, though he wasn't trying to fool anyone; the big gold cross of Saint James sewn into the material at his back proved that. He was one of them through and through, and if there were going to be any meetings, he would do his best to attend.

The tall Paladin sat down across from Anemoi and gave a nod of his head before greeting the boy, “Awrite!”

Galahad’s voice was exactly the type of voice you would expect to hear from a man an inch shy of seven feet, with the sides of his head shaved and arms that looked like they were strong enough to strangle an ox. There was no denying his Scottish roots, his accent thick and unchecked even after all these years.

He sat in silence for a time, thinking about the funeral that had taken place for their last leader, wondering if the same fate awaited the next. “Hou ar ye?” Galahad finally spoke up, acknowledging the other man and his friend.

“Ma name is Galahad. Nice tae meit ye!”

The long sleeves of his robe concealed his heavily tattooed arms, but where his hands peaked out of the ends of the sleeves the black print inked upon them was clear as day ‘The Hand of God,’ on his right and ‘The Lord has Spoken’ on the left. There was no negating that Galahad was a man of the church and had been for some time, his face weathered, blue eyes narrowed, the lids and edges wrinkled faintly.

Had he arrived too soon? To glance around himself told that it would be some time before the meeting was underway and he wasn't very fond of small-talk. “Brief?” he asked then, wanting to know exactly what the man before him had summoned The Order members for. Was this simply a roll check as deemed in the online post or did they have bigger plans sought to set in motion with the right number of members.

Either way it was not his place to judge but to guide. Galahad would not be interrupting anything that went on during the meetings; no, he was just here to sit, to watch, to listen, and learn more about the group that was keeping the Vampire ‘hotspot’ of the globe in check.

The sky looked as if would let lose any moment, kind of fitting she thought seeing that Verne wouldn’t be there. It was if nature herself knew it was wrong that he was gone. She was no longer the innocent girl she had once been. Two of their members were now vampires and only God himself knew how many more were ones and now Verne.

The news of Verne’s death had hit her hard, he was one of her first friends she met coming to this city and had given her the Paladin tattoo. She had cried for hours after the funeral wanting to know why. She hadn’t heard how he died but it all seemed very suspicious to her. Things seemed to be getting out of hand in the city. She had already been sent to the hospital more than once because of those creatures. Just a couple nights ago, she went into a bar when someone named Cristiana had sent her a Fuzzy Navel. She ended up on the other side of the city. She didn’t drink alcohol a lot but she wasn’t that much of a lightweight.

She checked her phone as she walked into the Cathedral. She fingered the cross she wore around her neck all the time these days. She stood in the front of the church letting the memories wash over her thinking about her friend. “Well at least someone wants to keep things going Verne,” she mumbled to herself.

Walking in, she removed her coat holding it as she looked around seeing two men talking. She brushed at some unseen lint from her jeans, gave a tug on her boots and adjusted her t-shirt that she wore over a waffle shirt. She knew she didn’t look like anything special but she didn’t care about her looks, she cared about doing her job whatever that would be.

Vaguely she recognized the one man only seeing him once or twice; the other was a giant of a man who one would never forget due to his sheer size. She walked quietly up to the two.

“Are we the first ones here? You’re Anemoi right?” she extended her hand to the other man “I’m Katie Mae, it’s nice to meet you!” her little frame dwarfed by the large man.

Mike dropped off his school books at his apartment. Tala, his zombie wolf? Following behind. He still had no idea how this all worked. She makes a great protector though, which was good that Nimmy had one as well. Although Mike's was way better behaved. If he was going to be an awesome robot maker, any animals he did make needed to look the part if he was going to sell them. So he had been working on 'patching' the areas of Tala so she looked more alive and normal.

He grabbed his other backpack that just held parts that he needed, his laptop and his video recorder and headed back out, with Tala at his heels. He headed out to The Order meeting that Windy started, he knew he was nothing more than support, that was fine. He could never be a fighter, he was just a young geek with no muscle tone.

He headed inside, looking around at the people who were there, though he never had been to a meeting before. "Hi, I'm Mike." he said, he had posted sometimes to the order website. He took a seat near Windy. "Hey Windy." he said, looking at Ricky, though not sure who he was.

Death was an ever-present, all-encompassing entity in Koda's view of the world. Nothing survived long, and you had to make an impact while you could. Verne had made his by steering The Order of St. James in the right direction while it lay in his hands, no matter how questionable Koda had found some of his choices to be as regarded... membership.

Fingers tipped with chipped black polish shoved curled, teal tresses away from her eyes as she made her way to the cathedral for this meeting thing. She didn't socialise much. Kenlie had really been the only person she held conversation with that didn't seem to be rubbed the wrong way by her abrasive nature. She also didn't often post around on the forums for The Order because she was never entirely sure who was watching. Never entirely surewho could see what was being said, no matter how 'safe' it was supposed to be. She hadn't ever been attacked by either of the (former, in her mind) members that had been turned into the filth she hunted, but she still couldn't bring herself an inch closer to liking them or trusting them. If anything, they were traitors to the cause.

They were supposed to destroy vampires.

Not become them.

The addition of blood thieves to the Order's ranks had put the woman on edge as well. They needed vampires to be worth anything. Once vampires were gone, they would be nothing. A plight on humanity. And that parasite would need to be gotten rid of as well, preferably sooner rather than later.

Heavy black leather combat boots clunked over the steps leading up to the inside of the Cathedral before she reached a hand out to pull the heavy doors open. The woman's utility belt shifted further down her right hip as she shifted her weight to haul the thing open before stepping inside to peer from her periphery over the few that were currently present. She ignored them for now and made her way to the front of the church to kneel before the alter, crossing herself before clasping her hands together and muttering under her breath.

"Oh glorious apostle, Saint James, who by reason of thy fervent and generous heart wast chosen by Jesus to be a witness of His glory on Mount Tabor, and of His agony in Gethsemane; thou, whose very name is a symbol of warfare and victory: obtain for us strength and consolation in the unending warfare of this life, that, having constantly and generously followed, we may be victors in the strife and deserve to receive the victor's crown in heaven. Amen."

She stood, then, and finally turned to face the few who sat around, her chin held high (as it normally was: her posture was perfect. Had to be) as she looked over them. She almost spoke, but readjusted the rifle slung across her back instead so that she could sit in silence without setting it off.

She began to pick at her nails.

Anemoi waited, wondering who exactly would show up. He looked up as a large man came in, "Hey.." he said, he never felt so small before. Where was this guy when he went against the annoying shits, whatever that vampire group was called. The only name for them that stuck in his head was the name that Kira used for them. He shook his head, he needed to get her out of his mind right now.

"I'm fine...and you?" he said, he wasn't overly great with social gatherings unless it was for a job. He looked to the girl as she came in, he realized he didn't know any of the members face to face really. The one he did meet, she was a vampire now. "Yes, I"m Anemoi." he said. Then came Mike and his...pet? It did seem like an interesting ability. He was glad there was someone he knew here. Another female came, she prayed? He wasn't a religious person, he forgot The Order members were, well some of them.

"So this is it? The only people to go head to head with a bunch of vampires? You all are ******* doomed." Ricky said laughing.

Anemoi stood up, "You shut up.." he snapped. "Unless you want a trip to the shadow realm." he added.

Ricky glared, he was in no hurry to visit that place again.

Anemoi took in a deep breath, well he started this meeting. Suppose he was the one that had to do the talking first. He was more than disappointed in the number that showed up. There had to be more people against vampires. He turned to the small group, "I'm Anemoi, or Windy as some call me. I don't care, either works." he said, "This meeting is part seeing who all was around, a roll call and the other part of what are we going to do now. We really have no leader at the moment, do we?" he said.

"This annoying little **** is Ricky. A vampire." Anemoi said, Ricky glaring at him again. "But unlike the mistake of letting vampires join us, he is under my control. He does what I tell him to do just as some vampires have their own human on strings. He can do things we wouldn't be able to do. But sadly he isn't powerful at all. I guess whatever it is that allows me to control him, wouldn't be able to control a stronger vampire but still, he has his uses.."

"Anyway, I have gone against a group of vampires a few times. Sometimes with other vampires I happen to know and get along with, well, some of them. The enemy of my enemy is my friend sort of thing I guess. That is the only way to get anything done. As a group, something The Order has lacked this whole time. Of course sadly they simply come back in a week so its a never ending battle." Anemoi said. "But it would prove a point, course most likely end up making a trip to the ER.." he hated his trips there. "But that's where Mike comes in." he added, turning to Mike and the wolf. "Mike has healed my wounds a lot, so we have a support within our ranks."

Anemoi looked at the small group, "Thoughts? Ideas? We have a lot to talk about.." he said.
