What did you call them?

Post by Doc »

Back story.. here where I live, we call them Lightning Bugs. But for people who moved to the area, they prefer fire flies..even though they look nothing like a fly.. and they do look like bugs.

It has turned out to be a very polarizing subject so I thought I would branch it out.. and ask you all.

I MISS THEM!!! :((

They don't live over on this side of the Rockies... :(

But it was Fireflies and Lightening bugs both in the area of Michigan I grew up in.

Same in Indiana. I told my granddaughter they were Fairy Lights, but bugs and flies are the top 2 choices here.

Call them both Fireflies and Lightening bugs.

Kind of like soda and pop, I've used both.

Can't really say where though, I've moved around so much who knows.

That will have to be my next one!

We never called it soda or pop.. we called it 'soft drink' - and I have no idea why.
