Beta Progress Update

Post by Mooncalf »

This is just a short message to let you all know where we're at, what we're working on, and how we plan on getting things sorted out.

Firstly, the human dual class update is done, and we'll be rolling that out at some point today. More on that later, on another thread.

Secondly, regarding the intermittent server issues: we're aware of them, the server hosts are aware of them, and they are motoring things to attempt to track down the cause of the problem. We remain hopeful that it will be a thing of the past, pretty soon.

Thirdly, chapter 3 will be starting soon. This one will be heavily roleplay centric, and will introduce some fun (and kinda evil) new features too. Expect lots of live chat RPs, impactful roleplay threads, and a struggle between vampire and human characters. While the chapter is ongoing, we'll be working on coding the Storyteller engine, which will be the biggest update we've ever made for Path, and hopefully the best! :D

Lastly, we're working on a new cycle of development. After rolling out a major update, we'll spend a couple of weeks just fixing bugs and making small tweaks. After this period of time, we'll go back to developing a new update on the test server, which will then be rolled out as a new update after it has been satisfactorily tested. So basically, whereas before we would just fix bugs and make updates around the same time, we're now working on a cycle which will go: tweaks > bug fixing > big test server update > new update testing > update rollout to the main server > and back to tweaks again.

So stick around, as we're near the end of beta now, and things are about to get interesting.
