[Forum] Resign from user group

I can understand the need for having user groups be closed/hidden due to secrecy stuff, IC, and that only a specific leader can ADD people to a group, but is there a way we can get the option to resign from User Groups? I tried in the Board Preferences but it said you could only resign from open groups? I think with the disenthrallment ritual or with being able to distance yourself from families/factions, etc. that it might not be a bad idea if we had some control over when we choose to leave a group, rather than leaving it up to a leader who might not be amenable IC or OOC to it.
