Winner flees area after duel [b]
Was told to post this here after reading the suggestion I made.
Mad is set to accept duels.
Ripper attempted to duel her to the death on the 2nd floor of a raid.
He lost the duel and she got the notification he ran away but she was the one booted from the raid and he wasn't.

Yeah, some people are using the flee setting explicitly to kick people from raids via engaging in a duel when both are set to flee ASAP, which is totally not cool.

Madison was not set to flee, however.

Re: Winner flees area after duel
I don't think that matters - it's a huge flaw in the system.
Say A is set to flee - B is set to engaged.
A duels B, deals some damage and then flees ASAP. If B stayed put while A fled, A's allies could come in and attack B in the same location while they flee to safety after like 1-2 wounds. You could easily wear someone down far quicker and with fewer numbers that way, so having the attackee stay in one place is never a viable option.
But that also makes the whole using a duel to kick someone from a raid a big flaw as well.

Yeah I totally get that. It would be easy as pie to do someone in that way. Just keep sending in vamps one by one to duel until one gets the kill.
But just as being able to flee is something that a player should be able to opt for, so should standing your ground. Your character shouldn't run away if you don't want them to esp., if they won the duel. (In this case, the attacker was set to flee and did so.)

Regardless of who flees, it's the Defender that's relocated.

Re: Winner flees area after duel
I can see the reasoning behind the defender fleeing. They did not instigate the fight. Even if they won, they probably (except for raids) aren't going to stick around, to have the opponents cronies come kick their ***.
If they didn't flee the area, the instigator of the duel.. could easily tell everyone where to find them, in order to kill them.
So.. I see the reasoning for it to be both ways.

the logic posted was the defender flees, because odds are they are not online, and if they did not flee, dueling could be used to weaken a strong char for a gangbang to kill them afterwards. it is to prevent dueling being overpowered as an attack tool. because now you have to search for them again

Solution: No duelling in raids.
Habren's. Then. Now. Always.
