A Long Days Night

Post by Nevaeh »

As she sat there flipping through the channels, the sleep had nearly come but it hadn't quite consumed her into oblivion. There was still the faintest murmur from the television to her ears, she peeked with heavy sleepy eyes about to turn on the setting to have the television automatically turn off when the most beautiful song came on from the music station, no video like MTV. It was a made for T.V. music station that ran so high in the channel listing you most likely fell onto it by accident. In her case, that had been all true. The song made her smile, almost warmily, almost. Her fingers nimbly ran over the remote to set the timer. As the night fell away into the dewy morning sun bathed day, the brunette laid back beside the woman beside her humming the last few bars of the song the man sang with such heart and melody, it stuck in her head.

Desolate I live,
I call your name
Give me haven
from my own pain
tossed by the storm
beaten by the rain
Tossed by the storm
beaten by the rain

Capsized in a sea of pain
my boat is lost
but I remain
tossed by the storm
beaten by the rain
tossed by the storm
beaten by the rain

*Chorus*
Western skies over open seas
I can't escape the memories
of her so it seems
They can't escape me
Wondering where it leads
back to her or down on me
Then again it just might be
For western skies or over seas

Am I alive
much less sane
alone on this island
with my pain
but there's no where back from where I came
no where back from where I came

Ruthless tyrant on this empty domain
home but I'm helpless
before my own reign
only subject under my reign
I'm the only subject under my reign

*Chorus*

Wait a minute
Who is she
This girl who
this girl who's come to rescue me
with a touch she sets me free (x's 3)

*Chorus*

Oh she sets me free
with a touch she sets me free
with a touch she sets me free
All good things must come to an end.

Maybe I should invest in clothing other then what is cheap and easily found. The outcome was very pleasing. The look was well worth the lack of cloth covering the upper half and lower extensions of the body. I tried for a surprise, it was given. Shock caused silence, a well begotten silence. I will try for that more often. With my new job, it will be easier to save up. I am making more money. It's still doing the same manner of work, cleaning and scrubbing till everything sparkles and the lack there of reflection shines in the floors, counters and walls. But it is hard earned money.

On my nights off, from one job, I still go down to the tattoo parlor. The shop still needs someone tending to it. After the floors are scrubbed, trays cleaned and disinfected and the hazardous trash thrown in the right bins. I head out, zombie fighting time. That is the reason I don't run around glammed out to the nines in clothing richer then I can afford. Once you hack into a few zombies, have the blood and ooze splattered all over you, your clothes and pieces of who-knows-what in your hair, nice clothes are ruined. Why spend a fortune on something that will be ruined. It's best to save the money for something big, something like an apartment. A fruitful venture.

The chunk of coin I am earning will have better things to be spent on. A computer, a altar, a crafting bench. Things of practical use. As long as it remains once in a while for nicer things, I don't mind. It was nice. Doing it to often might make it not so special anymore. It was settled, few and far between.
All good things must come to an end.

I save her life because she is dying of cancer, then she disappears. That's fine.

Out of the blue a childe of hers appears, lost and abandoned. At least now he knows there is a home for him. But that's not okay (of her). The least she could have done was sent something to let someone know. I've expressed great dishonor she has done to her blood. She has done a great dishonor in my book.
