Woman on the Street

Post by Jonah »

It was unusual that he walked anywhere above ground these nights but in recent nights he attempted to move on the streets more and more to prove that it could be done easily and without drawing undue attention. As someone said to him, if he could mostly manage to exist without drawing a bounty, anyone could.

On this quick jaunt to the shop to sell a few items, he heard a low moan from a side alley and the familiar scent of blood filled the air. For a moment, he was tempted. It would be so easy to feed from her. It had been so long since the sweet blood of another vampire had sated his thirst, since he had felt the power in his limbs but he swallowed the urge down. Realizing that he had stopped, he forced himself to take another step when another low moan hit his ears.

Before he knew what he was doing, his was stepping to the source and found himself crouched beside the pitiful creature. Up close, the urge to feed was lessened in part because she was so injured and the reminder that he had been called to protect ones such as this. Frowning, he reached out to her and held her hand softly as his thoughts turned to faith he had adopted and the charity he had not extended in recent nights.

A sharpened claw broke the skin on the back of her hand and with a silent prayer to Nox, black blood began to flow from the air, across his thumb, and in to her veins. "I don't know how much you need but I hope this helps. Stay safe in the darkness." If it would not have put himself and by extension the city as a whole in danger, he might have drug her to a better resting spot so she would not suffer in the daylight hours if she wasn't able to move but lugging a broken woman through the city was inviting trouble that he did not need.
