Working nights sucks. Short term memory's usually the first to go with lack of sleep. Going to keep notes to make sure I remember everything. Note to self: Write everything down.

Problems at the bank last night. Seemed like an earthquake, but only in the one building. Last I remember is seeing the patrons scatter, then I was in Newborough district.

I'm starting to think that working nights is getting to me. I haven't been getting much sleep during the day. Googled natural sleep aids, might try melatonin, should let me wake up easy enough in case of emergency.

Seriously can't afford sleepwalking in a circle. Or at all.

At least I came to my senses by Broussard's last known whereabouts. Quiet, no gangbangers. Other than whatever happened at the bank (night construction? Maybe a jackhammer. Need to go to City Hall and find out who's been granted permits and where)

Heard a rumor the Triads are going to be making a move to fill the vacuum. Need to find an informant; don't really look Chinese.

Active ingredient in ZzzzQuil is diphenhydramine, same dose as generic version of Benedryl. Need to google interactions between diphenhydramine and melatonin.

Didn't see much the past few days. Heard a couple of rumors, though.

That abandoned mansion where the girl found that weird graffiti is apparently haunted. Just what this city needs, another place where kids can go be nuisances. As if the crime rate weren't high enough as it is.

A group of shaven-headed Europeans is in town, and according to what I heard, they're not exactly sane. I haven't seen any of them, and, in any case, they supposedly arrived AFTER Broussard was killed, so, I don't really care unless they start making trouble.

Speaking of trouble, the Triads are trying to fill the void left by the Broussard. They may be gearing up for a turf war, but nothing has confirmed that the Triads have anything to do with his actual death. Hopefully the inside guys over there can catch them on something before things escalate.

As to my own case, I still haven't found any leads. If Broussard and his closest friends were killed, there would have to be bodies, but, as of yet, they haven't been found. Only another gang would have the M.O. to do it, but no one's taking credit.

You would THINK that whoever did it would take credit and use that to intimidate the other gangs into accepting the crumbs, but it's almost as if the killers vanished with Broussard's body.

Been sleeping better, though, I think. I haven't caught myself sleepwalking. While working at night isn't great, I must have been sleeping in a weird position on top of it. Now that I think about it, my neck was KILLING me when I realized what happened. I must have been tossing and turning that day.

Whatever. Time for bed and another fun-filled night of watching my case grow colder.

Approached by a suspected gang member; colors indicate Broussard.

Suspect offered to teach me how to be a Blood Thief for the names of 10 vampires and $10,000.

I believe Broussard's death has been weighing heavily on his underlings; there was something strange going on with the man's eyes. This guy needs to be committed, but I can't blow my cover; hopefully one of the cops will notice.

Unless there's some new gang called "the vampires" that I haven't heard of (and I've heard of them all), I think I'm going to avoid drinking from the tap around here. Guess I'll have to make coffee with bottled water, too.

Or maybe it's really early on 1/1/13.

I'd have thought, seeing as how these gothic weirdos enjoy their partying, that there would be a bunch of idiots dressed like werewolves watching the ball drop.

It's just quiet. And cold.

Rumor has it those Euro-freaks are using the sewers to get around. I was really hoping that the rumor would have died down by now. I really don't want to jump in the sewers. That's just gross.

Unfortunately, I think I'm not going to be able to put this off too much longer. Heard it too many times from too many different sources to keep pooh-poohing it. Ugh. Poo.

No further "vampire" sightings since the last writing. I also haven't had any more episodes of sleepwalking. Two plusses.

Unfortunately, I'm no closer to Broussard's body. It's as if he ceased to exist.

P.S. Need to attempt to requisition warmer boots. These might be fine during the day, but it's friggin cold when there's no sun

I was afraid I had lost my notebook. I guess it really has been that long since I've gone through the stack of papers on my desk.

Not long ago, I got a tip about something hidden in the Broussard's old headquarters. I'm going to meet with a few others to find it. Not only will I get help breaking in without a pesky warrant, but they'll serve as a nice distraction while I hightail it out of there. The local law enforcement has botched this case up badly enough. How long has it been and there have been no arrests?

Speaking of which, I overheard in the bank that a child was shot by one of the police. I hope she's just got a wild imagination, or, worst case scenario, one bad cop gone rogue. If I have to clean up the law enforcement, too, I'm going to need a hell of a lot of backup.

One more thing. A new business opened up. Broussard something-something. I'm not sure yet whether it's connected to the gang or the family of the other Broussards, but I applied for a job. We'll see what happens. I think it's the night shift, but if it turns out it's the real Broussards, I'm working while I'm working. If it's the other Broussards, then I'll just quit.

Oh, so I lied. Two more things. Found this new energy drink. It tastes like bubblegum and cough syrup mixed with the color blue (which is, in fact, a flavor. Nothing in nature is that color except for the sky. Don't try to tell me it's raspberry, it's blue). Anyway, ever since I started drinking it, I've been sleepwalking a hell of a lot less. It's been almost a month since I found myself sleepwalking!
