~ Rituals Progress Report ~
~ Day 1 ~
~ 5:55PM - Attempt 1 ~

Just returned from the Bullwood magic shop with the required ritual altar. I have placed it next to my crafting bench at the front of the manor for now. First ritual I have attained the items for is what we have come to know as Know Vampire, presumably the most difficult of the five. I am not surprised at this twist of fate in my direction. The Light has blessed us with these gifts of hers from the old days, so I have no doubt she will guide my hand in performing the ritual.

~ 6:17PM ~

In the words of todays people, sonofabitch! Forgive me mother Light for my foul hand upon this page. I managed to summon the demi-fae, and discovered four of the words in the fae tongue needed to perform the rest of the ritual, but luck was not on my side, I squandered my time picking the wrong words to try. It broke through the circle and fractured my skull before escaping. I lost the one and only silver ring I had for performing this ritual in the process so it may be some time before I can try again.

The words I found that had a positive reaction in the spirit were "seus" (12/1), "lote" (7/2), "eren" (9/4), and "ynes" (10/4). I hope I can find more silver rings soon so that I may attempt this again, hopefully without my skull fractured further. I estimate three days to heal the wound.

~ 6:45PM - Attempt 2 ~

Samsonite returned home and revealed he had a silver ring upon his possession. I am about to attempt this ritual for the second time this evening. Hopefully if I fail the wound will not be as severe, and hopefully elsewhere.

This one attacked my arm upon escape. It appears not all the words work for all demi-fae's. This time "seus" did nothing, but "des" (1/1) did have a positive reaction. The other three words from the first attempt still worked however. Again I lost the ring, but I have realized I will need more white baneberry, a lot more, if I intend to continue attempting this ritual in future, as I have limited supply. This wound will not take long to heal, maybe overnight, it was that minor, but I need to take care. I cannot take too many failures at once or I will become easy prey for any who seek to harm me, not that I have given reason or cause to any of late since Simon's death. Now I must go feed and rest for the night. Hopefully more ingredients will be acquired soon.

~ 7:13PM - Attempt 3 ~

I spoke to Dulce on the phone just before and happened to ask her about silver rings. She had just been selling a number of them but still had two left. I sent Samsonite to meet her outside the Lotus Cafe to collect them from her and bring them back here. Upon further investigation I have reason to believe I can improve my chances by using the zombie ears, the binding component of this ritual, to repair damage to the circle the demi-fae does to prevent it escaping. I will try that now.

My assumption about the zombie ears was correct, they did indeed repair the circle when damaged. It still escaped though, but I discovered a lot more words this time that worked. I wonder how many were for the ritual and how many for the demi-fae itself?

((OOC NOTE: I also noticed that the wound from the first attempt reduced my action points by 5 for the ritual, as it reduced my willpower by 5. I had 25 action points with a Willpower of 12, then 20 with 7, just as a guide for anyone reading this.))

~ 4:29 PM until 5:21 PM - Attempts 4, 5 and 6 ~

I managed to get my supplies up to 3 Silver Rings and 3 lots of White Baneberry today through a combination of hunting and using the Auction House. Dulce's thrall Sada Abe was also kind enough to find one for me in the wilderness but I have yet to receive it. As I carried out my attempts today I noticed which words of the ritual remain the same, and which ones change. Today has been very eventful indeed.

Attempt 4 cost me a white baneberry, and the demi-fae escaped. I learned zemu~_/_~eren/eri~ynes~lote~llus/isk~xyl/irus/irus~des/heg~_ seemed to be the words that worked on this attempt. On Attempt 5 it was the same again, only this time the words were zemu~zemu/icl~eren/eri~ynes~lote~llus/isk~xyl/irus/irus~_/_~mox. Noticing the pattern with how complete those two attempts seemed, I have devised that it is a case of the components being zemu~_/_~eren/eri~ynes~lote~llus/isk~xyl/irus/irus~_/_~_ with _ being components of the command that change depending on the individual demi-fae, the rest being ritual specific.

With this knowledge I made a 6th attempt. I now know of the vampire Oracle. That is correct, I did it. Success after only 6 attempts. The full ritual was zemu~mox/atega~eren/eri~ynes~lote~llus/isk~xyl/irus/irus~leh/rom~seus this time.

I wonder what moxatega, lehrom and seus meant to that demi-fae, or zemuicl and mox to the previous, or even desheg to the first one I summoned today. I suppose I will either never know, or it will all become clear when mother Light deems me worthy of this knowledge.

I have also acquired several items for the other rituals, but still missing an item from each of the other 4 to be able to perform them. I must pick up my efforts to acquire these items quickly if I am to discover the elements of the spoken ritual that never changes with them.

~ 3:00 PM ~

I have spent several days in talks with Keara Aithne, Moriah, Ariadne and Blake. Through this I have attained the newly discovered ritual Unknowing, and two offers to be given Bless Weapon. I purchased 3 Old Coins from the Auction House today so that I may attempt Ichnocognition, suspecting it would take several attempts before I got it right. However, with the previous attempts by my colleagues in researching these rituals I was successful on my first attempt.

However certain results between myself and others are not making sense.

For starters, I got a certain result but some of my associates have gotten different results that mine did not match on the same ritual, though all the other results did match.

I notice here that in every attempt so far, successful and failed, the result was that alynirusirus worked, however that was not the case for myself. I went back to my notes on Know Vampire, and remembered that xyrlirusirus seemed to be constant in every attempt. I tried that again here and my suspicion was proven correct. Xylirusirus seems to be my name in the fae tongue, but then why would both Blake and Moriah be alynirusirus? That is the part that does not make sense to me.

The ritual seems to des~"random"/"random"~met/otep~noph~llus/isk~"caster"/irus/irus~"random"/"random". Further attempts by myself will be made in order to confirm my theories.

I also have enough ingredients to be able to perform Thrall Barrier and Unwelcoming, though I am not sure who to try Unwelcoming on. Uknowing requires the item Moonstone, though I have yet to discover the item or here of anyone having done so. This in itself requires further research. Perhaps Isidora would be willing to help in this.

I have just spoken once again to my childe Dulce. She wishes me to train her in the ways of rituals, something I will happily do. I should speak to Temperance regarding this also if I can ever get a hold of her again. I spoke to Dulce regarding using Unwelcoming on someone but was not sure who I could use as a test subject, and she volunteered herself to be the test subject, provided she could use me to test her attempts once I have shown her how to do it once I have perfected the pattern.

~ 4:00 PM ~

I have just been going over my findings with Robert Pratt and he has an interesting theory. He thinks that alynirusirus and xylirusirus may in fact be a reference to the location from where the ritual has been cast, rather than the target name. So, rather than xyl meaning my name, it in fact makes reference to Argent Manor, or maybe just Elmworth itself. I will try one of the two rituals I have gotten to work already at another alter, or two in fact, or all 3. I have heard there are three, one nearby in the old Drake Manor. I wonder if it would be xylirusirus also? I should get Morish and Blake to try Argent Manor and the now abandoned mansion of Isbella Drake, see if their alynirusirus changes to xylirusirus as Robert suspects.

I have just spoken to Dulce and she found Moonstones. The magic shops sell them, and it turns out they also sell Severed Heads. I had heard that the gift shop Severed Heads do not work in rituals, but the ones in the magic shop are being sold as ritual items by the shop owners.

I tried my hand at Thrall Barrier just now. My target was Beta Towers. I failed attempt 1, used up my only 2 broken mirrors, they seemed to be the binding ingredient this time, and I ran out of time and the demi-fae escaped, stealing my only set of lost keys I had acquired. I noticed two things that were rather peculiar. My associates have made notes of their attempts and the 7th section has always had 3 components to it for them, but my attempt there were only 2. The other peculiar thing is for all three of my associates who have attempted it so far, that component I did not need was irus, irus did not appear anywhere in my attempt. I tried it twice just in case, but it had no effect.
