I came across information about an underground cage match or fight club. I signed Dominique up. I would have signed up myself, except.. I am running for office, the last thing I need to do some youtuber upload a video of me beating the **** out of someone. So I signed Dominique up. I told her I needed her to do this for me. I might have alluded to the fact the guy was blackmailing me.
She was pitted against Enver Marshall II. That actor guy. I was really disappointed when I first saw who she would be up against, because..let's face it. He’s a pretty boy and an actor. He was probably only doing this for a film or something similar. However, that man held his own and even beat her. I was disappointed about the outcome, but not about the fight itself. The fight was an epic battle, a true sight to behold. I was proud of Minx. She didn’t whine or cower, she went full-bore-in-your-face death squad.
After the fight, it was to the Voodoo to meet with Amalea and Lizzie. Lizzie brought cookies. All was going well, nice comradery, when it was interrupted by a half dead vampire dragging himself into the Voodoo basement.
What the **** was he thinking? Obviously he wasn’t thinking. He didn't give two shits about the occupants in the Voodoo as he dragged his sorry *** there. It was clear he had been in a fight, and he got the worst of it. Yes he needed help. Fine I get that. He should have holed up, and called someone to help him. But instead of that, he made a bee line trail for the wolves that did that to him could follow right back to the Voodoo. ******* **** for brains.
He may not have been followed on foot, but you can bet that the government is monitoring the CCTVs, ever since the uprising at the cure facility. How long before they spot the blood soaked guy that drags himself into an internet cafe, where there are webcams galore, by passes the cafe, to head to the basement. The Voodoo has been compromised.

I have booked Lizzie and I a suite at the Bellagio in Vegas. Due to the recent mass killing event in Las Vegas, prices were not bad at all. Apparently traveling to a city that has experienced a deadly event, a city that makes its money based on vacationers, well I upgraded us to the Elvis Suite. It comes furnished with all manner of Elvis paraphernalia. I am hopeful of purchasing an Elvis painted on black velvet for her, as a gift. I am sure she will treasure it, if I can find one.
Lizzie seems unusually skeptical of the Elvis phenomenon. I have decided she will no longer be an Elvis disbeliever. I have spent copious amounts of Cyril’s time researching the myriad of Elvis attractions in Las Vegas. We will only be there four days, so it will be tight to get all the attractions in, but by the time we leave..she will be a believer.

I picked up a couple of relics on auction for my girls. The Armlet for Lizzie, will be helpful while we are in Las Vegas. I could boost her if needed. However, it is a nice backup plan when traveling. For Amalea, I got her a vambrace. If anyone needs an extra bit of healing mojo, it is she.
Amalea is quite capable. I know this. The can of kickass she opened on Az told me that. Yet it doesn’t alleviate my concerns about her however. She is human. The ability to be harmed is far more great than if I or Lizzie were to be hurt. We get hurt, we spend a week in hell and come back whole. She gets hurt, and she scars. She could have issues that would plague her for the rest of her life. The Vambrace will, if nothing else, make me feel better, as I hope she never has to use it.

We arrived in Vegas in good time, and even collected our luggage with little trouble. The rental car agency could have been more efficient, but I bit back the irritation I felt, as it was late for the Rental Car Agent and she was on duty by herself. I had been specific. I wanted a Porsche Panamera, and had made specific instructions to Cyril about it, and the paperwork showed it was booked. However, the phrase ‘best laid plans’ rang true.
As irritating as it was, the Agent did try. She had been unable to get the requested car. Something about, it should have been brought over from a different office the day before, but it hadn't been. Instead of the Panamera, we got the 911. I was disappointed. Yes. The 911 beats the Panamera in stats and numbers. But 911 is a much stiffer ride and doesn't have the luxury as the Panamera. I dislike how low you sit in the 911. All in all, quite disappointed in the rental car.
To save the evening, as we headed to the Bellagio, I took a detour to show Lizzie one of the
Elvis Drive thru Wedding Chapels. I was ready to purchase a package.. Apart from the actual ceremony, but Lizzie was suddenly too fatigued to ‘give it her due vigilance and attention’. I put it down to a female issue, that I did not want to know about. Do female vampires have something like a human menstrual cycle? I am not sure I want to know the answer to that.
However, she seemed to be in fine form as we checked in. But once we got to our suite, she seemed to deflate. I left her to do her thing.

I came face to face with a Banshee.
I barely survived. I never understood the extent of the fear man feels at the presence of a Banshee. I do now.
You think I exaggerate. I do not. If anything, I have been conservative in my description.
The banshee entered my room with such a high pitch scream that my ears bled. And they bled profusely. As a surgeon, I am well acquainted with blood flow. This was blood gushing. Even as I tried to staunch the blood flow, it poured over the heels of my palms which were pressed into my ears.
The Banshee? Elizabeth.
Unbeknownst to me.. Elizabeth hates all things Elvis. I think it is his sideburns that annoy her so much. Never have I seen her so upset.
Why? I have no ******* clue. But apparently.. She finds him abhorrent. ds
ALL THINGS ELVIS… ABORRENT.
What the ****?! Now what were we supposed to do for 3.5 nights in Vegas? I had plans for a personal Elvis concert for her - with hand picked songs for her I might add!; I even had the Skydiving Elvises booked. A midnight Skydive Event .. just for her! So she could experience the full effect of Elvis for herself.
Even as I tried to calm her down, the faucets in my custom Elvis bathroom shot skyward, denting the ceiling and shattering the mirrors. Though I still wonder why a hotel wants mirrors on the ceiling in the bathroom. However, that thought was brushed aside as the toilet roiled as though it were possessed by holy water. I fully expected rats, snakes and alligators to heave forth from the toilet. Thankfully that didn’t happen. However… the screams from the Banshee.. Aka Elizabeth brought NUMEROUS staff bursting into the suite.
Thankfully, the staff put the screaming of the Banshee down to the poltergeist that was possessing our suite.
In less than 45 minutes we were moved from the Elvis Suite to the the Mozart Suite.
Mozart. What a let down.
However, Lizzie seemed much improved; so I said nothing.
Note to self. Do not give Lizzie the 27 tune Elvis Doorbell.

I think Lizzie is angry with me. No it would be better to say, she is angry with me. As it turns out, she disliked Elvis to a degree unrealized by myself. How was I supposed to know that she loathed Elvis. We had a conversation about Elvis where she discounted everything I said about the man. She fairly refused to believe that grown men made a their living mimicking and pretending to be Elvis. So I proved it. I thought it would be amusing for her to witness and discover the depths of the Elvis obsessed. I was wrong. Apparently this was repugnant to her.
I apologized. I apologized profusely. Perhaps not ‘profusely’, But I did apologize a couple of times. But it did not seem as though she believed me. She kept looking at me as though she expected me to say something more. Something specific, but I had already apologized and I wasn't going to grovel. I said as much and she then seemed annoyed that I thought she was still angry.
We attended a Cirque du Soleil performance. I am not sure what she thought of it. She said it was enjoyable. But it was said in such a manner that I could not tell if it was a polite enjoyment, or if she truly did enjoy it. I, myself, would rather gouge my own eyes out rather than be forced to attend another such performance. Due to the Elvis fiasco, I kept those thoughts to myself. And merely said it was ‘different’. And again, she gave me the look as though she expected me to say something more.. And again, I had no idea what she expected me to say.
What does she want me to say?!
I have said it before and I say it again, I will never understand females.

The trip to Vegas did not go as well as I had planned. Although, I had to adapt our plans, and she said enjoyed everything non-Elvis, I cannot help but feel she is disappointed in the trip. It doesn’t help that her thrall Marlena keeps calling her. Apparently her spawn Cosimo has been a no-show at work for a couple of days.
Lizzie is concerned. She says it isn't like him. He is reliable to a fault. So she didn’t take my offer that maybe he was between the sheets with a hit Skirt that picked him up as plausible. If her spawn is a reliable as she insists, then it doesn’t bode well for him. I did not say this to her, because she already feels quite helpless. I heard her on the phone with the airline. I suspected she was trying to get an earlier flight home. However nothing must have been available since she nothing to me about adjusting our schedule.
My decision to stay at the Bellagio proved to be a good one, apart from the Elvis suite. The Bellagio Conservatory and Fountain Show were both equally impressive and entertaining. We have one last attraction to visit before we fly home. Madame Tussauds. I have never been to a wax museum before. I pray that Elvis is not the first exhibition.

The Mayors ball. What a cluster **** that was. The Mayor never showed up. Which is was highly suspicious. There was no hint of blood or bodily fluids that would come from a vivisection, which was.. Promising. But the rumor that he was called away by higher ups.. That didn’t wash. The man was giving away bags of gold to people, and he wasn't there. Why give guests gold, when it was a charity for the orphans? Was that a subtle hint for the money to be donated? If so, I saw no one in a hurry to give up their gold. Perhaps, he had planned on being there, and was to make the first gesture, to then be followed by the crowd. If so, it failed. And failed hard.
Things of note: I was introduced to a Siren. Which is a Big *** Spider. I do not like spiders. I knew Sirens were humanoid in appearance, yet .. their true form is staggeringly .. disgusting. Alexandrea and I were, at one point, attempting to locate a high level siren to discuss, the future of Harper Rock. Their views versus our own. However, after seeing what they truly look like? I am not so inclined to be in the same room with one.. Alone. I have never liked spiders. And the revulsion I feel at the visage of that one, was palpable.
There was tension in the air, throughout the evening. Ripper and his creepy-eyed wife were there, which of course added to the tension somewhat.
Mordie was there. Which was a surprise, since he doesn't usually make appearances at human gatherings. I overheard a couple at the party saying that the ‘big guy’ threatened to splatter someone apart. The only ‘big guy’ I saw was Mordie, but I cannot credit that he would have been that overt and public. More than likely, he was misheard.
Mortll and Zodiac were there. From the way that Mortll was acting, I think they are a couple again. They were once, it appears, it has been rekindled. I would like to say I am pleased for them, but I am severely pissed at Mortll for her denigrating comments about Amalea, and her implications that I am less than attentive to her, than I should be. What the **** does she even know about it? It is a fine ******* like I walk, and I do it was care and consideration of Amalea at the start of it. I had to leave Mortll’s presence, before I ruined what had started off as a nice evening.
The paladin contingent, as Amalea calls them, showed up. And even though I knew the ritual had been set up, I was .. and still am, wary about how the ritual works with humans. Rituals are due in part to the Fae. The Fae hate vampires. And yet we force them to perform rituals for our benefit. Do rituals work against or for everyone equally? Or do some species have more resistance to their powers? If so.. What resistance? And If not, if they do work equally well, against all.. How.. do they actually work? And are there more rituals out there that we do not know? If so, how do we find them?
But I digress, the paladins came, bearing gifts for the children. As much as I dislike their religious fervor against us, I see their side. It is a stark and bleak reminder of who I am. How easily I can dismiss others. Yet, they are who they are, because of such dismissal as mine. Due to the ritual, if they had intended ill toward any, it did not happen. Yet.. one of the paladins had become the apple of Mordie’s eye. Mordie come up to the male with a purposeful step, brought the male eye to eye with him.. And then Mordie gave him a very thorough liplock. It was not a brief one. It was a deeply searching type kiss.
Just as Mordie let the lad down, the male heaved forth the contents of his stomach upon the Mayor’s rather nice berber carpeting.
The evening ended well. I had my photo made with Amalea, and others. It will be nice to have a photo of the two of us.

Alaric sent Lizzie an engagement ring. What the **** was he thinking? Lizzie took it in stride, and with her usual aplomb and composure, though I could tell she was far from pleased about it. She said it was unsolicited and out of the blue; and I have no doubt she is telling the truth. Which makes his high handed attitude about it all the more telling. Apparently he thinks he can wave his hand and she will do his bidding? He doesn’t know her well at all.
I did not wish to let her know how fucked up I really thought Mr. von Dick is. She thought, I could take him out drinking.. Introduce him a round, get him a girl. But after telling her I would gladly pump a few half dozen forty-four caliber rounds in his head, I think she realized, he and I will never be ‘pals’. And I am not sure I would wish him on any of the females I know, for I have too much respect for them.
