“No,” She said with her voice softening. It had nothing to do with him, and she supposed that she should show more remorse. “I should be sorry. And other times I would be.” What was she expecting? It’s not like he would feel bad or have pity for her, and if he did that might be worse. She turned and looked over at him and tried to remember being in his place.
“When I was turned, I couldn’t remember who I was or what was going on. But I can understand where you are, and I will try to be more sympathetic. I wandered the streets for many months before I found someone else who took me in and mentor me. I wouldn’t be as known or well running the club I am if I had never met her.” She shrugged.
“I am not a parent. I’m your sire. If you want someone to hand hold you, I can try to be that but …” She just let that trail off into an uncomfortable silence when the phone buzzed. With one finger she told him to hold on a moment as she called the person back.
“What!” She said as a hello loudly. After listening a few moments she pulled the phone away from her ear and pinched the bridge of her nose. “Listen you get paid,” She paused, “Still you get paid to…” and a few moments later she yelled, “FINE!” And hung up the phone.
She looked over at the man and forced a fake smile, “So .. bad news!” She turned her phone toward him so he could see those words across the screen of her phone. “We are on our own. Becky said the GPS tracker is down, and they can’t seem to find us to send help. How are you feeling?” She looked down at his stomach trying to distract him.
“Yes, violence is a part of our world. We grow stronger from fighting the beasts in the world like zombies, to get stronger. Sometimes violence is called for in a situation. But this, this…” She motioned toward the men, “It is fewer and farther between. Unless you go looking for trouble, then it always seems to find you. But there is always other means of entertainment in the city. Like I am seeing a lovely woman…”
She looked to the man, then offered him her hand. “How about this: Hi, I am Cristiana. I am your sire. And I am doing my best to introduce you into the wondrous life of the vampirism so can we start over?”

He wasn't sure how to react to the change in mood. She had had memory loss when turned? That was a thing? Well, that would...kind of, give her a bit of a pass on things. He supposed. Still, things could be a little better. He wasn't really looking for someone to baby him, but it sure would have helped to know a little more on what was going on at the time. Though there of course were still things he didn't really know. His eyes drifted to the side in thought for a moment.
There came a pause, before her phone phone buzzed and she told him to hold off while she picked it up. Glade narrowed his eyes, well whatever it was it didn't seem to be going great. Apparently those people she had called couldn't make it. He looked at his stomach, well, it wasn't really bleeding anymore. He pushed himself upright, then grunted, "Ah, well, somethings still wrong but I'm fairly certain I'll survive now. At least I'm not bleeding anymore so there's that." it was astonishing how things could heal as a vampire, and the sensation of it was just...abnormal
She explained a bit about what it was normally like, violence, but not necessarily as bad as it was here. Well, he'd just have to be a lot better at keeping his head down then. She mentioned 'seeing a lovely woman' and he cocked his head but she didn't go on. Instead putting out a hand and...sort of reintroducing herself. He made a sort of clicking noise with his mouth at first but there was really not much real reason to not accept it. He put out his hand shaking it, "Glade, thank you, it'd be rather good to at least know I won't have to be worried about everyone I meet."
There was a strange sound outside followed by a crash, he peeked around trying to see what was going on.
"Come on make me one of them!" He heard someone shout at a vampire, perhaps one of the rogues from earlier? Apparently someone had tackled one of them after realizing what they were, "I need to, I need to live. I need to save them. Make me one of you please." the man was half begging and yet each time he ended a sentence it was like he was about to try and beat the vampire unles he gave in.
"Get off me!"The vampire said shoving at him.
"Come on!" The man said pulling out a knife and going to attack the vampire as if it was going to force him into making him a vampire. Maybe he thought it just worked by feeding?
Glade's eyes narrowed, he was really not sure he wanted to get involved. On the one hand the man was clearly mad but was on the more likely to die end of the stick, on the other hand, that was very possible one of the Rogue's and he didn't feel very inclined to help someone who might try and kill him right afterwards.
"Well isn't this troublesome."

As the voices caught his attention, it caught hers as well. She took out her cigarettes and lit one. With an inhale she reached in her bag to take stock in how much weaponry there was left. From her hair there was a thin set of knives, from her purse and holder two guns and a set of hira shuriken and flat shurikens. At least there was plenty of ammo cartridges for refilling the gun.
A glance in his directions,
“Let’s just hope it is them. Hey if we go on the roof you might gain a new sibling.” …. She shrugged,
“Too soon to joke?” She didn’t know if he was a smoker, it’s not like it would kill them so she didn’t care much. With a tip of the top of the pack in his general direction, she offered him a cigarette. He was healing nicely but he was in no position to be fighting just yet.
“You’re call, we can wait for them to come to us, we can bring it to them or we can get the hell out of here and not have to worry about it. You pick?”
Now if it was up to her, they could just simply go. Who knew what would be waiting for whatever ended up on the other side of where they left to be. It could be worse than what was outside, seeing as there was only one vampire and a pathetic excuse for a human who was begging to be a vampire. She had seen worse things though.
“When this night is over, maybe I will take you on a helicopter ride over the city.” She gave him a half assed smile.

Her joke about his turning made him raise an eyebrow and frown, "Eh, maybe a little." he said. Glade was a little bit sore about that in some way but it wasn't sticking too much. He'd get over it he knew it was just about time, or payback, but that wasn't something he had intentions on actually doing. She offered him a cigarette and he paused before shrugging, "Guess it can't kill me can it?" he said taking it before thinking on the next thing.
Fight or leave were really the options, and he'd already had his fair share of the former today, "I think I'd rather just get outta here. I don't want to have to deal with these people anymore then I have to." he said frowning and looking at them. He was out for himself most of the time, and he was less then neutral about both the characters squabbling over there. He leaned onto one leg fiddling with the cigarette, he really wasn't entirely sure why he took it. He'd never bothered before because of health reasons, and the smell could put some people off and mess up how he did things. Right now neither reason was applicable though.
The last comment made him lift his eyes in a little surprise, though, given he had figured out how to walk on water and the general fact of vampires, it really shouldn't have, "I'm sorry, you have a helicopter?" he asked incredulously. "How in the world can you afford that?" even though he'd gotten a little distracted he was still very much ready to get out of there, whether just by going around them somewhere or whatever means she may have had in mind. But he didn't feel like staying anywhere with many other people for awhile.

There was a momentary mutter of a, “Sorry,” When he said it was still too soon. It was not the first time nor would it be the last that she turned someone with some manner of strange means. She felt like if they made it past death’s door they were stronger somehow, better than others. There was few.. Very few she turned in that ‘loving and caring’ way. A time or so she did save some from death's embrace if they did not feel ready. However those were the kin that severed ties and she never heard from again. Whether they fell asleep or left town, she did not know.
After he took the cigarette she lifted the lighter and lit it for him shaking her head no to answer his question of it killing them. Soon they would leave, but she wanted the vagrants to clear out of the exit way so she could get the two to safety without having to gun down more people. Or worse, more vampires. So she kept him distracted while the two outside did their little shuffle until they left.
Finally, something that made her smirk a little bit. “Do you know The Metronome Club in Wicksbridge? How about Happy HomeMakers in the mall? Or over in the Honeymead mini mall I have the wedding shop? And of course there is the recording studio. By the by, you had better get over there and put in your application so I can hire you to come clean say…. Once a week? I am giving you a job.” She paused and started speaking telepathically into his head, “Don’t make a sound. The vampire is right outside.”
She continued speaking into his mind to evade the rogue vampire outside from finding them currently, “I learned to fly planes and helicopters several years ago. As a gift for completing the course, I was given a helicopter to have fixed up. I paid a friend who is a mechanic to fix up what I couldn’t myself. I also have a small jet plane in a hanger nearby that either myself or a friend pilot flies. I do have many business trips I take for the club, so it is good for me to cut costs by having my own means of transportation.”
When the man finally moved on, and luck being on their side that the vampire himself was smoking so he didn’t smell theirs as well without thinking it was his own, she leaned forward and whispered, “I think we can get out of here now. Creep along slowly, keep against the wall but most importantly follow me to get to safety.” She crept along the wall crouched as she walked with her back against it. She pressed on making sure her newest was following her being careful that she didn’t set off any alarms in the process.

He shrugged when she said sorry, "Thanks" Whatever for? The smoke? Turning him rather then just throwing him off? Saying sorry? There were plenty of interpretations here and Glade wasn't even sure which one he meant. Or, perhaps it was just instinct. He shook his head taking in and blowing out the cigarette. He bobbed his head side to side, he could get the appeal. Though, it certainly didn't seem worth doing it as a human. He grunted to himself, well, he wasn't exactly one of those anymore so what was the point.
She went off naming businesses, good grief, she had a lot. Offered him a job as well, he bit his lip in thought for a moment but then there went her telepathy stuff again telling him to be quiet due to a vampires presence. He held still, he could do quiet. Even so, she continued to explain, through the mind, how it was she got the helicopter. Good grief this woman had some ridiculous luck or some fantastic friends. Or, well, didn't she mention she could make people like her? That could have been it. That would be a really useful power to get he realized.
Finally they were ready to move again and he stuck the cigarette in his mouth as they moved, he could do stealthy, even if he was still a little injured. As he moved behind her, slowly, carefully, against a wall, he considered drawing in the darkness. It was one of the first tricks he'd learned and a most useful one when feeding. But he realized that the darkness had a limited distance and they may not be staying here long enough for it too matter, plus it might draw attention which he really didn't need. If they got caught or were near to it, then he might do it, but they hadn't yet.

Shadow powers were something of an anomaly, but he needed to learn more than the basics of them. Something he was going to learn eventually and tonight she could show him tonight and how to use them in self defense if the need arose. They would come to that if necessary. She was just trying to make sure the need didn’t come about. A fast way to give away their location was to do something foolish like make everything around them silent, that included the outside area where the vampires were and they would instantly know that there was someone nearby. A dead giveaway per say.
The two edged along quietly near the wall, the noises outside going away from their location while they moved to another area of the building. When they got to her desired location, outside crouched down behind a broken wall. She looked around and semi remembered where they were located.
In her head she told him, “We needed to be outside. I am going to teleport you to a safe area, and follow right behind you. But I can’t do us both the same time.” She kept quiet to not blow their hideaway spot. “Are you okay with that?”
She looked at him, trying to remember the first days, even weeks and months of her being a vampire, and how different it was from now. Now, after the crutch of loss of her childer, friends and family, that seems a distant past. It wasn’t a complete lost though. She did remember those nights living on the streets, not having an apartment or place to call home. Being left completely alone and worse feeling the weight of the loneliness. It was not a feeling she ever wanted to inflict on anyone. No matter what wrong Simon had done, she had stood beside him. No matter what hurt and wrong, if Quoth ever returned, she would be there for him as a sire. It was like that for any of her childer, if they were around, she would be there for them no matter what destruction came in that wake. Even if it meant die for them. Something which she had done in the past.
The problem with this was she never knew how to say just that and keep it within a range of okay, not creepy. One or she tended to come off as a spoiled pampered *****. People weren’t supposed to know the shell of a helicopter she was given baren and with the help of a pilot friend and a mechanic, they had rebuilt it from nothing. It was hers, because she built it up. Just like she did every business, she worked her *** off getting them to be as they were. She made sure she would never be out on the streets draining blood from the people living in the alleyways like she had been. Maybe that was why over the holidays she put together the fund raisers for the homeless shelter. It was only a small part of it deep down inside, where she felt lonely like those nights on the street. Then she sired again.. And again and again. Only one survived this time and she was here with him now.
So she turned and looked to him, “Come work for me? You don’t have to answer me now but you have a job if you want it?” ****.. she might have said that a little too loudly since she spoke that outloud instead of into his head. She needed to teleport him now before they got caught.

As they moved along Glade began to wonder how far they were gonna need to go. And the more they did have to go, the more likely they were going to have to go up against someone or something. But, at least now they were going to away from most of the issues. At least, for today. Eventually they stopped and she mentioned having to teleport him first, he sighed. He needed to get over the fact he was going to come across a new power or fact about every day at this point but it still didn't seem to want to quite click.
He nodded in response to her question. It wasn't like saying no would do any good. Or that telling him would have done her any good if there was any trickery going on. He waited patiently for whatever had to be done before they were out of here, so whatever it took for her to do this teleportation thing. It certainly didn't seem like something that would be among the less taxing of abilities so he imagined it'd take either a bit more effort or a bit more time then others might. However, she didn't go right ahead with it. Rather she asked, aloud this time, if he wanted a job with her. He gritted his teeth in thought.
There was a desire to answer quickly as his eyes snapped around to see if anyone had noticed yet, but at the same time he didn't want to screw up a decision. On the one hand, he could try out on his own in some way. But, he wasn't human anymore. He couldn't rely on everything he'd done as a human to work as he was now, well, actually he could for a lot of things but there were still plenty he couldn't. "Uh, yeah, ok. I mean it certainly seems like a better idea then whatever I'm doing right now. Thanks," he said. The thanks might have sounded a bit half hearted but the grimace because of it afterwards might have clarified that it was mostly because he felt rushed to respond quietly because of worry, "Not to sound rude, especially after a job offer, I do appreciate it. But I will absolutely admit to being worried on whether or not someone heard us." he said, still very quietly.
Before vampirism he had to worry about just the law mostly, though even then he rarely did so. Now however, there could be enemies left and right who could slaughter him without much effort. Though, he realized, maybe not her. At least she had a lot more experience then he did, and if powers grew over time, she had to have a lot more then him. But still, who knows who might be capable of more. And really, he was more worried they'd get him rather then her.

He would never be able to wrap his mind around he was her childer and she would do anything to help him out. Even if that meant it lead to her own death. She put her hand on him and teleported him to the alleyway beside The Metronome. Instantly she followed him so she appeared a moment later behind him into the empty alleyway.
The world faded into a blur of white nothingness. A sensory deprivation moment of retrospective. A lot could happen in a moment; love could blossom or die, life could be given or taken away or someone might simply look off and think of nothing as it were. Moments could fly away or take forever to the point they didn’t end and one felt trapped in the second only to have it repeat over and over. For Cristiana, it was over in the blink of an eye.
She stepped into the alleyway beside The Metronome club and went straight to Glade’s side. “Are you alright?” She hand floated above his back but pulled back before he would even notice the lick of concern for his well being. It was after all, his well being that she pushed them to here instead of other places. Here was one place she knew was safe. “If you would like a drink, they are safe for us and always on the house just for you seeing as well, you are part of my lineage now.”
It was then she felt it more than seen it. One of the vampires who was outside had followed them. His weapon was already drawn before he even finished materializing before them. Her body was aimed between the two males. As she turned, she heard the pop before she felt the burning sensation in her own abdomen. With a grimace she looked down as the red spread over her clothes. It stopped after about an inch of blood was lost over the wound.
The claws elongated from her fingers. Bones reshape themselves into five inch long razor sharp claws that in one swipe of the male left him bleeding but very much alive and wailing in pain over the way she had sliced his chest open leaving ribs and intestine exposed. It had been a visceral reaction to incapacitate him but leave him alert enough to answer questions.
Without hesitation she walked over and grabbed his head leaning down close to his face, “How many more are coming?” He grunted and spit a mouthful of blood at her. She tightened her grip lifting the clawed hand in the air, “How many?” Her voice was a low feral growl, and she was becoming even more upset.
The man groaned looking to Glade. Instead of begging for mercy he tried to lift his gun hand shakily. Even in this state he was still out for a kill. A foot kicked the gun out of his hand while holding his head. She yanked him back to gain his attention before there was even a shot. “How many are coming? Last chance.”
He groaned, “No one. No one else is coming. I seen who you were and hung out a few times at the club. You waited on me and my friends.” He laid back waiting for the hit to come and kill him. Instead of killing him she pushed the bones together and gave him a blood heal like she had to Glade. But she also couldn’t have him following her, so she her fist retracting the claws and knocked him out. Finally she turned and looked at Glade hoping he wasn’t completely horrified. He was new to all of this and sometimes you needed to protect yourself.
She wrote a quick note on a napkin from the blood on the shirt and ground.
‘Don’t come back. I spared your life once. Get straight, here is some cash.’ She left the money and napkin, a few hundred dollar bills on his chest.
“Will you accompany me inside, please?” She put her jacket on from her bag and buttoned it to cover the blood. The question that plagued her was would he run or come inside the building with her. She had only left the guy alive for her. It was then she seen the tail end of a black cat leaving the entrance of the alleyway. Had it been Ginny?? Not all black cats of course were her.
