Rowan had just reached her car when she realized that she didn't have her keys. "Absinthe, sorry, I think I forgot my car keys. Just get to the station and I'll see you there in a few, yeah?" Not waiting for a reply, and more than a bit irritated with herself for being so forgetful in her excitement to see her sister, she ended the call and slipped the slim phone back into her pocket. Her lips quirked to the side as she considered trying to run back downstairs as quickly as possible to grab the keys or to just walk to the station. Shaking her head, she made her way back to her apartment. After all, she wasn't sure that Absinthe was in a condition to walk the whole way to the apartment she shared with her best friend, Meara.
A wave of sadness swept over Rowan, darkening her silver grey eyes as she thought of her roommate. It had been ages since she'd been able to talk to the other girl, much less see her. As she approached the apartment, she could almost imagine she could hear the puppy she'd given her, the dog having her own personality.
When she reached the hall for the apartment, she stood there in shock. "Am I imagining things? Meara?" There was her best friend, complete with howling baby Corgi, in front of their apartment. "Is that really you?"

Meara's eyes turned to look at the curvaceous brunette down the hall. Red hair fell tot he side as Mea canted her head to look inquisitively at the other woman before a bright smile burst onto her lips.
"Of course its me. Who else would be banging in our door in the middle of the night?" Meara quipped with a laugh. Willow took off running down the hall, butt wagging in the way a tail might as she went to greet Rowan, then ran back. "Seriously though I think I lost my keys."
Meara sighed as she reached a hand up and pushed the mountain of wavy red and blonde hair out of the way. "I'm so sorry I vanished. I had to go home for a little while. But I got all of my stuff back, so I actually have more than like ten outfits. And my sheet music library. And all my temporary hair dye." If she wanted she could rattle on for awhile all the things she was grateful for picking up.
"But we can catch up, right?" Meara offered, hopeful her friend would agree.

Willow ran up to greet her and Rowan found herself on her knees to pet the little one happily before letting it run back to Meara. "Well gee, Mea... You were gone so long and I missed you so much, I imagined that I could hear you sometimes. As for the banging on the door..." Rowan made a face as she stood and walked up to them. "You'd be surprised at all the weird people banging on doors in the middle of the night... or just banging in general."
She shook her head and opened the door for the two, letting Willow inside if she wanted. "I should have known you'd lose your keys! But the outfits and such are awesome. Geez, you guys must be so tired. I was actually going to meet my sister at the train station in a while, since she doesn't know her way here yet, but yes we can definitely catch up and everything."
Entering the apartment, she gestured Meara over to the couch and headed for the fridge. "Did you want some blood? Have you eaten yet? Sheesh Meara, you had me so worried!"

The redhead chuckled as her bestie pointed out the errors in her logic about the knocking on the door. It was true that they were prone to having people drunkenly stumble out of the elevator and bang right into their door, which was directly opposite. She had missed the city and its vibrancy. It's 24/7 lifestyle that she had grown accustomed to as a performer.
Her mind was drawn out of her musings as Rowan inquired after her just like a big sister would her kid sister. "I have eaten. I unloaded my car at Alex's Clocktower until I could find you and my keys. This is just a small portion of the stuff I have to bring over." Mea gathered up the box and her purse from the floor and moved to step inside the familiar apartment. Willow bolted ahead to explore the space while dragging her leash around behind her.
Meara listened to Rowan closely as she went to place the box on her bed, then popped back out. "Hmm I have an idea. How about you go retrieve your guest, and I'll stay here and try to get the pup calmed down and my things put up." Meara offered the brunette a smile before leaning in to give the woman a hug. "I'm so sorry I worried you. I promise I'm okay and I'm gonna try to not disappear again."

Rowan smiled widely as she returned Meara's hug. She had missed the other vampire so much, the other being one of those that she considered her 'special people'. Cheesy, and yet utterly true. In some ways, she was closer to Meara than some blood family members, considering that they had started out together and experienced many unspeakable things in their new lives as vampires.
"It sucks that I have to leave just as you're coming home... but it's my baby sister and I was wanting to get to know her. Would you be alright with her coming over? We could always head over to the family place instead, if you wanted to rest some more."
Her smile turned into a small frown as she considered the reassurance that Meara offered. "In my head, I know that you had to leave for a while... but as much as my head understands, my heart was still sad. If that makes any sort of sense at all," she mumbled the last bit, her lips twitching into a sheepish smile. For all that Rowan had practically raised herself on the streets, she was still a kid inside at times. A kid that wanted family and all that came with it.

"Its totally fine. Go pick up your kid sister and we'll have a blast here at home." Meara said with a shooing motion of encouragement. "And it makes total sense. Don't stress okay?" Meara paused to lean in and pressed a kiss to the woman's cheek. "I'm not going anywhere now. I am here for good, least I darn well hope so." The redhead commented with a giggle. "Your sister is going to be wondering where you've been now off with you!" Her giggles continued as she peeled herself away from Rowan's side and retreated to her bedroom.
Rather unceremoniously, she dumped her box of belongings on the bed and started sorting through them as she started to decide how her room was going to be laid out. Music would go back in the box to be moved to her hopefully to be purchased studio. Dog toys and food would be taken to the kitchen. Make up would go on the dresser. And so on. So much to do and so very little time.
