"Oh? I kind of freaked out a little when I first started to see my decaying body. It's so gross. I used to pride myself on my looks and I really hate looking in the mirror and seeing that. I know I shouldn't be so vain, but that was my life you know? Being a model you know? Anyways. I just sound like a brat, so I'll stop talking about that. But I'll have to try this technique it sounds good."
She offered the woman a smile and took another sip from her drink.
"I was thinking around our neighborhood, maybe even go to a Halloween party later? I don't know. It's up to whatever you two what to do. Well actually what you want to do, since Robin will do anything." Maddison grinned. She really did have Robin wrapped around her finger. Or at least that's what she thought. She could be completely wrong but probably not.
"Anyways. I'm going as a cheerleader. I've got the costume and I'm so excited. I'm going to make Robin be a zombie. He's got the skin for it, obviously and I think he could pull it off really well." She grinned and winked at Emerson. "What do you think?"

Emerson frowned. "Yeah. M'sorry, Madds." And she genuinely felt bad. She could understand where the blonde was coming from, to a point. Emerson thought she was cute, and she liked how she looked, but she wasn't a model. Her appearance wasn't an everyday worry or a big part of her occupation. It wasn't exactly the same circumstances. "Maybe you could have someone take pictures of you? I dunno. You're really beautiful, regardless of what the mirror shows. M'kay?" She offered up a smile. Her words were the truth, after all, and Maddison should be hearing them. Hopefully they'd boost her mood in the slightest.
"Okay, cool. Your neighborhood sounds good. A party, though..." Emerson fiddled with fingers. "I mean, if you guys want to go, yeah. I think I'll be okay. Or I'll just leave so you guys can enjoy yourself. Don't wanna be the Debbie downer." The brunette couldn't imagine herself at a party. At least not on her own. The girl and lots of people and noise didn't seem like it would mix well. She just wasn't that kind of person. She believed that discussions, even her responses were lacking, were very important, and parties usually only had dancing. And drugs, probably.
"Cheerleader, cute. Were you one when you were younger?" Maddison could fit the tall, blonde stereotypical role of a high school cheerleader no doubt. However, sometimes people changed as they got older. For all Emerson knew, Maddison could have been a totally different kind of person in her younger years than what the brunette had made up in her mind. And although Emerson couldn't physically change much as she got older, she also doubted she'd ever change much mentally. Same old, same old. A static character in the story of life.
"Zombies are cool. Are you doing his makeup?" Emerson asked with a tilt of her head. No zombie would be complete without some good special effects makeup, that was for sure. During her journey through the internet, she'd stumbled upon a few tutorials regarding zombie makeup. She'd be interested in trying it out on someone if the task hadn't already been claimed. Emerson had found that she liked doing makeup. Maybe it was a thing of hers. A hobby, or something. "I think your costumes sound mega cool. I'm excited to see how they turn out."

"We don't have to do the parties, just a suggestion. I think there will be enough with the trick or treating." Maddison smiled. Robin would probably want to go back to the house anyways, especially when he saw her in her cheerleading outfit. It would do a number on him or anyone really. Maddison looked hot in it. Truth be told, Maddison hadn't been popular at all in school. She had been a nerd, on the math team and was a band student. Maddison had went to New York University for College and had her masters. She was actually a closet genius.
However, fashion had always been her passion.
"I don't really know how to do zombie make up, so I am probably going to have to pay someone to do it or something. I'm good with my make up but I can't do any of that extra effects and stuff. Do you know how to do it? That would totally be awesome if you did. It would make life so much easier." Maddison offered another smile towards Emerson and then finished off her drink.
"I bet you're going to look cute as a fawn. You totally have that innocence thing going for you."

"But now I feel bad. You mentioned last time we met that you wanted to go to one." Emerson pouted, and let her arms loosely cross over her chest. "That wouldn't be fair. I can try it out. Worst comes to worst, I'll end up leaving." Maddison liked going out, and Robin had a job in a club. The girl saw herself getting dragged to one of the spots at some point or another in the future if the two were to remain her only friends. And it was more than likely that they would. She'd have to expose herself to their type of environment eventually. And who knew? Emerson could end up really enjoying herself, even if the voice in the back of her mind was doubtful of it.
Emerson shrugged her shoulders and finished off her neglected apple dessert in three swift bites, dusting the crumbs off her hands and onto her napkin."I've watched some clips on it, and I can practice some on myself over the next few weeks, but I've never officially done special effects makeup or anything. It just seems cool. I could try my best?" she offered. The fact that Maddison had even considered paying someone to do the task put a bit of pressure on the situation, but she could pull through. Creating shadows on the skin wasn't too difficult, and what more would a zombie really need? The girl wasn't ready to venture into the world of liquid latex just yet (it had been mentioned as a supply, and the process was a bit complex), so she could stick to the basics and give Robin a very simplistic, but as realistic look, as she could muster.
"Awe, thanks." Emerson smiled. She'd been torn between being a fawn, a pixie, or a princess, but in the end, she went with the first option. It combined the aspects of fall, animals, and makeup that she loved. It also forced her to be a bit crafty, which was fun. She enjoyed it. Hearing someone else mention her innocence aloud caused a flicker in her mind. A flash of a lightning strike, the feeling of gentle fingers in her hair, an overwhelming - yet comforting - sense of protection. And as soon as it was there, it was gone, and it made the girl's heart feel empty. She let out a small groan and put her head in her hands, rubbing at her temples as if to coax back the memory. Although she wasn't set out to find information about herself before everything had changed, if something were to come up naturally, she was determined to get to the bottom of it. She took it as some sign of importance, even if the memory would end up being nothing special.

"That would be awesome. I was only going to pay someone since I didn't know how to do it. I can do the essential make up and that's about it." While she was modeling, she never had to put on her own make up. They did it for her. Maddison hadn't really had a lot of help from her mother either. She had left home when she was eighteen and hadn't been back since. They had a strained relationship. Which would be even more strained, since she was now a vampire.
"And we don't have to go to the party. I don't want to force you to do something that is uncomfortable for you. That's not what friends do." Maddison offered the woman a smile and sat her mug down on her empty plate. The coffee had been good, so had the muffin. She was sated for tonight.
"So you can meet me and Robin at my house then? For trick or treat night. We could all get ready together or something." Maddison stood and deposited of her stuff before sitting back down.
"How does that sound to you?"

Emerson nodded. "It's no biggie. M'happy to help. It'll also be interesting to see how Robin will react to me coming at him with a bunch of makeup brushes." The girl smiled. Robin didn't seem to be the type of person who wore makeup on the daily. She doubted he had ever put a product such as foundation to his skin. By the sounds of it, the male also wasn't aware of the fact that he was dressing up, let alone that his costume would require the means of makeup. It'd be an interesting situation nonetheless. And it'd give Emerson something to do. She'd figured out that she could pull off the basic, everyday makeup procedures with ease, so maybe going more into depth with the activity was something she was good at. Perhaps, not her main strength, but a hobby. Something she did in her past that could possibly give her access to other things she did in her past. Possibly.
Although Emerson was grateful for the blonde's decision, she was also washed over with guilt. She had, in fact, been the reason why Maddison wouldn't be attending a Halloween party anymore. Of course, it was probably no big deal, and the woman had the remaining few weeks to scope out any early running parties to attend, but the fact of it all would weigh on the brunette's conscious considerably for the next few days. She hoped Maddison wasn't upset with her. Or disappointed. Disappointment was much worse than being upset, in the girl's opinion. "Okay. Thank you. We won't go - if you're sure." She'd give the woman a final opportunity to change her mind, just in case. She knew Maddison's intentions were to be a good friend and accommodate to Emerson''s weariness, but she would unknowingly try to outdo the blonde's efforts.
Emerson's hands dropped from her temples and laid out flat on the surface of the table. She decided she was being a bit overdramatic about the whole ordeal, and would probably dream about it later that night. "Yeah, sounds good. I'll come a little early, so I'll have time to do Robin's makeup, and then my own. Oh, and I'll need to make sure I have the day off from work." For once, Emerson felt as if she had a little bit more than usual on her plate. It wasn't a bad thing and compared to others, she was doing next to nothing. But it kept her busy, and that was the point of it all. Following the woman's suit, Emerson finished off the last few sips of her coffee that had by then gone cold and disposed of her things accordingly. She wondered if Maddison had anywhere she needed to be anytime soon. The girl would rather stay and talk a while longer, but she'd already seemed to have proven herself bad at holding and spiking up any type of good conversation. It would be in her best interests to end their meeting if she didn't wish to bore Maddison. "Do you have to go home to Robin now?" she asked. "I can walk you home if you wanna leave now."

"Oh, that'll be a sight to see. Robin usually stays clear of me when I am putting on my make up. I'm not sure he's had that much experience with girls. I'm not really used to have a guy living with me either. I often am throwing my stuff everywhere and what not. It's definitely been an adjustment period for us. But fun." Maddison gave a bit of a laugh. Robin really was hopeless. But no in a bad way.
"No, we don't have to go to the party. I'm serious." Maddison had only offered just in case the trick or treating didn't take long. However, they could all just go back to her house or something. It wasn't like it was a big deal. It was going to be interesting to see how the three interacted with each other. "We can all just go back to my house or something. It'll be fine!"
Maddison offered the woman a smile and then a nod. "I don't have to get home right away. Robin is working tonight." Maddison hated his job. She hated that he gave his blood away to strangers. She hated that strangers got to put their mouth on his neck. It really was just a job she couldn't stand, but she couldn't tell him that. He chose it. "So i can hang out for a little bit, if you want?"

Emerson tilted her head to one side. "You don't think so? That he hasn't had much experience with girls, that is. I mean, you did say that you two had quite the time between the sheets, so that would probably come from... Experience?" She shrugged her shoulders. What did she know about that kind of stuff, anyways? "I dunno. I could be wrong. He didn't seem to mention many friends that were girls, or a sister, or anything, so y'probably right." Emerson could taste the **** that was coming out of her mouth, then. She cringed at herself and tried to fix her words. "I'm glad you two are having fun, and are happy, and all that. I ship it." She'd told the same thing to Robin when they had met, but she had a feeling that the male didn't quite understand the context of her words. It was the lingo of her generation, after all, so it would make sense that he was confused by it. In the reality of it, all it meant was that the relationship the two shared was something she supported.
Emerson and Maddison had argued enough about the party. She was ready to drop it, and with a nod of her head, that's just what she did. "Okay, cool. If it's gonna be late do you think I could crash there too, for the night?" With Maddison and Robin being together, and sleeping together, the guest room was no longer being occupied. Even if the two weren't sleeping in the same bed, Emerson wouldn't mind taking the couch. She wasn't too picky about that kind of thing, as long as there was no nearby window or source of light that would fry her in the middle of the night. Sleep was sleep regardless of where it took place. She'd even take the floor.
"Yeah. I like hanging out." Emerson brought her legs up onto the booth, crossing them over one another to make herself more comfortable. "Oh! You never told me about that trip you said you were going to take with your modeling friends. Did you go yet? How was it?"

Maddison made a face when she talked about Robin being inexperienced and stuff. Robin had been good in bed. So maybe he had been with a lot of women. Another face was made before she shook her head and decided to let it go. There was no reason to start a fight with Robin about it, they were in the past and Maddison was his now. So she let it go and took a deep breath before offering a shrug.
"We went on the trip. It was a lot of fun. I was happy to see my friends, plus were we went was pretty shady so I was able to get some snowboarding and stuff done. It was nice to just relax and chit chat with some friends. They all asked about Robin, so I got to share that and some pictures. I didn't tell them about my vampire-ism. I'm still scared that they'll freak out, so yeah. But other than that, it was a great trip."
Maddison offered a smile. She wasn't really sure what to say next. She didn't have much else to share. She had shared about Robin, her trip and Halloween. That was probably the most that had and was going to happen in her life recently. She was actually kind of boring.

Emerson knew she had messed up - it was evident in the faces Maddison was making. She shouldn't have brought anything up and just stayed with her nose in her own business. She felt horrible and had no idea how to fix it. She doubted an apology would do much at the moment, and if she waited it out, it wouldn't mean anything at all. The conversation had moved on, and it wouldn't help to dwell on the brunette's mistakes, so she crawled back into her little comfortable shell of short answers where mishaps, although still present, were far more of a rarety.
"M'glad you had fun. Snowboarding must be cool." Emerson couldn't quite wrap her head around the idea of snowboarding at the moment. She was in full-on fall mood, but by the time December rolled around, she'd be all for hearing about the activity and the like. For now, she could only think about three things - the wonderful smell of fallen leaves after it rained, pumpkins in the form of coffee, baked goods, and jack-o-lanterns, and how much candy she was going to end up with at the end of the month and the next few days that followed. Of course, it only made sense to go trick-or-treating, and then go out to all the shops and pick up all the bags of sweets that went on sale. Emerson was going to start off November either on a total sugar high or with an upset stomach. With her luck, it'd end up being some version of both.
"Don't worry too much about being all..." She tried to find a word that would fit. Nothing seemed to work besides the obvious. "...Vampy. You don't have to tell your friends. And if you do, it's their problem if they decide to freak out. Y'know?" What the girl was trying to get across was that it didn't matter if Maddison told her friends that she was a vampire or not because she was still the same Maddison as she was before. Just an upgraded version that lived forever and had super cool abilities. Sure, she couldn't go out in the sun and human blood had become a different kind of essential, but personality wise, she couldn't have changed much. Emerson wondered if she had changed much since turning. If the girl had, she hoped it was for the better.
