Re: Just another night in the city/Renee [open]

Simon saw what was considered horrific beauty by him. One guy, obviously a vampire given association, and what had happened. That cheek bite causing crimson to gush made everything so apparent. All of the red was beautiful in its own dark way.

Screams echoed off the walls like a short concerto. They were shortly muffled as darkness consumed the area. Mesmerized by the sights Simon only looked to see the metal pierce Renee's side like a spear upon Christ. Those moments time had slowed for him. Yes, Renee could have handled herself in many situations. She did not need a man to protect her. However, people developed principles. One of Simon's was DON'T. HURT. RENEE. It was a cardinal at the top, pressing against "Lemmy is Thy God," and "Never Trust an Attractive Hooker." The principles needed to be updated as they hadn't been since...well back when he was human save for a few additions.

Anger consumed Simon instantly. Steel blurred as Simon removed the Paladin's extended hand at the elbow. The blade in Renee may have fell from gravity, but the vampire was going for the coup de grace with a well placed decapitating strike when a strike when a wicked plan ran through his mind. Suddenly, a flash of steel caused the other man's hand to drop. Where arms were for the holy man were stumps. Before blood loss could have kicked in, Simon dropped his sword and touched both stumps.

A scream danced around the room as Simon's touch began to burn and cauterize the wounds. Leaping up The Shadow knocked the Paladin to the floor near his sword, "C'mere stumpy!" Bloody hands touched the Paladin's face. From there the vampire began to invade the holy man's mind. Memories of Stabbing Renee were at the forefront. Simon pushed past those and dug. Yes, the vampire was vulnerable, but he could have healed and there were a meat sack beneath him. A few hits would have been okay in his book.
