It seemed a good enough reason. Thinking back on all those he had turned, none of them had really had that kind of reason. Most he had forced to be turned. Most were perfectly healthy and leading healthy lives, with brothers and sisters and parents. Although Jesse felt remorse, it was a selfish kind of remorse. He regretted that they weren't here for a reason. That they were forced. And that they then probably didn't feel any obligation to stick around. You can't force someone to be loyal. They have to be that on their own.

"How long have you been around? How much have you still got to learn?" Jesse asked. Maybe a harsh question - he thought Eirik had been around for quite a while and should have a handle on things by now. But maybe he was wrong. Maybe he hadn't been around too long at all, and shouldn't expect so much.

"Has Renee been helping you?"

Eirik looked towards the voice " I have been around less than a year and it is more learning where to feed and where not to feed as well as where shops are at. Also killing things is hard but learning to hear where they are coming from. I think I still have more to learn about rituals. As for Renee she was there at the beginning but she disappeared and I have not seen her in a few months.' Rituals was something he wanted to learn a lot about though and he had yet to find a teacher to show him the ropes.
To Die Would Be An Awfully Big Adventure.

"I would suggest not feeding at all. From humans, that is," he says, eyeing the blind man warily. It's a wonder that Eirik hasn't been on the violations list. How does a blind man feed? How does he determine whether the area is clear or not? How can he be certain that no one is watching? That there aren't cameras, or some friend somewhere taking the piss? How does a blind man fight? Eirik kind of answers that one on his own - by listening. But what is he, some kind of Daredevil? Is he really able to hone his skills like that, or is that just something only seen in comic books?

"There's always a stock of blood bags in the fridge at Third Circle, in Limbo. Where the tome drops you," he says. "We can show you where that is. How have you managed, so far, not to be seen?" he asks, unable to keep his curiosity at bay. Even if it is a professional kind of curiosity - a scolding one, as of a shepherd finding out that one of his flock had wandered off, and he has to try herd it back within the lines.
