I attended a Halloween party. Lizzie and I were competing for best costume. I went as a member of the Spanish Inquisition. She cheated. She went naked. As Lady Godiva.. then tried to bribe people with chocolates. By the time I left, they had no announced who won. But I still contend that the lack of clothing did not constitute a costume. There was no horse either. The whole point of Lady Godiva was to ride naked on a horse through the center of town. Lizzie had no horse. Clearly, I won.

I told Lizzie about Cytherea being back in the city. She seemed unconcerned. It was all rather anti-climatic. She nodded and said something along the lines of do not be surprised if you see her soon. It is disconcerting how nonchalant she was about it. I dreaded the conversation for hours before it took place.
When I explain the facts to a female, I can get anything from sobs to anger. Never have I gotten, ‘Oh. Ok. Thank you..’. So when faced with telling Lizzie that the Ex is back int he city.. I was ready for a barrage of questions, that I knew I would not be able to answer, because I do not know -why- the ex is back. And based on past experience with females, when I failed to supply an answer to such a question, I was usually met with anger, stab wounds, the odd gunshot, slaps, and sulks.
So I braced myself for hours, focusing and making sure I would not get pissed the **** off and fight with Lizzie, when she got angry and threw something sharp at me.
And what did I get when I told her? Nothing. Ambivalence at best. I will never ******* understand females.

Escorted Lizzie to Enver’s event this evening. She eyed the slot machines with a combination of loathing and what could be easily taken as revenge. She explained she had an unpleasant event with one previously. Her unfailing surveillance of her quarry was intriguing. It is an inanimate object, that is not sentient, or has the ability to move on its own. Yet her determined gaze seemed to give her a sense of determination and understanding of it. Her lack of experience with things that are passe and ordinary by my standards fill her with a sense of curiosity. There is something oddly satisfying watching her discover something new.

Mortll called me a ******* human. All because I didn’t want to go to her apartment to talk. I get that she wanted to talk privately. I get she needed to vent. I offered to go to her floral shop.. but no. You would think I just committed the cardinal sin of fornication on the lap of the pope with the Queen of England. Her place or nothing… fine. Nothing it will be.
I tried to explain, that I am running for office, and I need to prudent about where I am seen. She wanted me to use ******* powers. That was not ******* point. The point was, my time had to be accountable. I didn’t need deep dark black holes and huge gaps in it. One, because I am running for office; two, the Bal… Cytherea and I are recently divorced, and I don’t need the speculation. But no. Because I did not jump to do Mortll's ******* bidding, in the manner she wanted, I am labeled a ******* human.
I could have explained my reasoning further. I could have calmed her down. But **** that ****. I do not owe her a ******* explanation like I am some errant school boy to be scolded. If she can’t take me at my word, and understand there is a good reason behind it, then it will always be ‘why’, no matter the issue or discussion.
I ******* hate being questioned.

Ripper got his knickers in a knot after Alexandrea’s party. We were all having a nice time.. Alexandrea was the perfect hostess. But apparently he had a bug up his *** for some reason, and and it wasn’t something I said either. Because I know I can be rude. But I didn't even say a word to him. I didn’t even know he was there. But little ******** chucked me out of the window.
Out of deference to Alexandrea, I didn’t make an issue of it. She probably wasn't even aware he did it. So I saw no reason to upset her over it. But the jokes on him. Tonight Alexandrea adopted me. Guess who is a Quartermaine? I wonder.. Does this make him my little brother?

I mentioned the incident with Ripper to Lizzie. She has a definite soft spot for him. He must have some endearing qualities about that females only like, because I cannot what it is. But suffice to say, Lizzie mentioned a few points that I had to agree were pertinent, and even though Ripper attacked Amalea’s friend as a way to get to her, through me, for a reason I still do not know; it is not worth the effort to confront him.
It was then that I mentioned to Lizzie I had been adopted into Quartermaine. She already knew. Apparently she too is part of Quartermaine. I confess, I do not study or even care to study the lineages. From what I understand of the Old Code, it was very much a lineage hierarchy. Younger generations did nothing before the approval of the older generations. Chain of command was important and in some ‘families’ strictly held to. But is no longer the case in our age. I would love to see an Elder try to take a younger generation to task for something they did without the Elder’s express permission. They would find themselves in the middle of a violent revolt.
I am a perfect example. Elliott and Pi treated Ric like ****, and then they turned on Skylar. I refused to stand by and say nothing while Pi spewed a hate filled tirade at Skylar, while Skylar’s sire Elliott, did what he always does, nothing. I left d’Artois, and have no regrets. My ‘family’ is made up people of like mind and thoughts. Not a lineage. Which is why I was rather pleased at being adopted into Quartermaine and wanted to share it with Lizzie. Lizzie one upped me. She informed me, she had adopted Amalea.

I do not know what is going on, but my phone has blown up with calls from employees. They are all annoyed and irate, saying they are overworked. It must be the holiday push. So I have hired some temporary help for the season.
I spoke with Alexandrea briefly through Crownet about the Sirens and arranging to meet them. To sit down and talk. She said she would see what she could do to locate the right people, so we could have a sit down. I sent word to Wendell, as I know he very good to have on hand, because he is emotionless. He can direct things based on fact, not emotion. Whereas I .. if I get annoyed, can be quite the ‘hateful asshole’, as I have been told by more than one person.
I am hopeful that we can move these talks forward before another fiasco like happened at the government facility takes place.

I made a promise to Amalea, and I intend to keep that promise. However Lizzie keeps making leading comments about Amalea and I. Last evening she suggested I take Amalea on vacation, and then she left. I was flummoxed. What brought that on? I will give her space. If there is one thing I have learned about females, is not to question them when they are irked. It only makes things worse.

Lizzie and I spoke. I did not break my promise to Amalea, but I believe I have put Lizzie’s mind at ease. At least I hope so. Lizzie says it sounds to her as if we are Kindred spirits. She is more right than she knows.
She and I will be going to Las Vegas in December. She has heard of Elvis. I will admit I teased her ruthlessly about the powers of this almighty Elvis and his number. That Elvis skydives, and likes the marry unsuspecting persons. Hopefully it will be a fun trip, and she wont kill me.

**** me. Lizzie did it again. She asked Amalea about Thanksgiving in the United States and then shoved Amalea and I into a date, and then she left. Again. I will never Understand Women. Never. Ever.
Amalea and I agreed to have it be an open social get together at the Voodoo. It will not be a date.
