Internet Shopping

Post by Lofyn (DELETED 481) »

It can't be that difficult, Vivi thought as she settled in front of one of the computers in the Voodoo Cybercafe, her new favorite place to surf the net. In a flash, she had her favorite Halloween costume site up on the screen, and with a few clicks, she was searching through the women's costumery that bedazzled the site, sprawled over three different categorical tabs; Zombies, Renaissance & Medieval, and Pirates.

The Zombies category was easy enough to trim down; she now had the options of a Bloody Nurse costume, or an outfit entitled "Officer Armbiter," the name of which, albiet cheesy, was rather laughable. Zombies almost never went for your arms; they preferred to try ripping off your head.

Pirates took a few minutes more, before she finally settled on the Seven Sea Seductress. A luscious red and gold costume embelished with black lace. But she still had one category left to sift through.

She purposefully had saved Renaissance & Medieval for last. It was certain to have the most content, the most choices. And it was also the one she'd be the least decisive in. But she was surprised to discover that it had less than the Pirates collection, and she selected only one from it; the Lady of the Lake costumery. A luxurious outfit of pale grey and rich royal blue, it suited her perfectly, and would fit her slim, muscular form ideally as well. It would flow and billow behind her...and that was actualy the perfect reason to remove it from her list entirely. And so, she did.

Officer Armbiter included an amazingly short beige dress with bite-mark cutouts covered with fine red mesh and bloodstains splattering the entire outfit. It also included a short black tie and a pair of fingerless leather gloves. It said nothing about the badge she spotted on the right side of the chest, but she assumed it was included as the description said, quite specifically, that it was a "cop dress." How interesting it would be to be a member of the KoPs and wear a police-zombie costume for Halloween? Quite interesting.

The Bloody Nurse was...well, a bloody nurse. Blood-spattered headpiece, face mask, and dress. Two rip-like cutouts with the same red mesh as Officer Armbiter, jagged hem and sleeves, zipper down the front. Both zombie outfits were unbelievably short, but that was all the more reason to wear it. Halloween seemed to be the only time it was acceptable for grown women to dress like and be sluts. Why should Vivi ignore that seeming social norm?

Seven Sea Seductress. She could not ignore it. It seemed just right for her, and fit her personality. But that Bloody Nurse...it was just sexy enough. She double- and triple-checked the price of next-day shipping in tandem with the costume itself, and found that it came to $68.98, without any goodies. That was next on her list to seek. Hats, Wigs, & Masks and Accessories & Makeup were her next destinations; shoes and other lovely things were to be found there.

White shoes with a blood-splatter pattern brought the total to $88.98. She could handle that. With a few quick keystrokes, the money was on its way to the costume place from her bank account, and she just had to sit and wait for the costume to arrive.

Weekends are impossible, and yesterday I was unable to access this place, so this will have 2 sections, the latter part shorter than the first.

Vivi had stayed near her parents' home for the entire weekend - still no delivery of her costume and shoes. Why, she was unsure. But now it was time to use a pay phone to call her little brother's cell phone. The family was home, and Tyler's bedroom window was lit. Standing not far from the house, she dialed his number.

"Hello?" Tyler answered the phone. He sounded somewhat groggy.

"Tyler, it's me. Look out the window, down the street," Vivi replied. The blinds peeked open in Tyler's window, and his face appeared. Vivi waved.

"Vivi, what the hell? Why haven't I heard from you since July?" Tyler said.

"Never mind that. I have a favor to ask of you. If less than two minutes, I'll be at the front door. Walk down and stand by the door right now. I'll knock. Open the door, tell me to come in, and then get yourself, Simone, and Karen out of the house. It's time for payback, and you can't be inside when I do this."

The pair said farewell, Vivi hung up, and she walked over to the house. Across the lawn to the front door in a flash, she knocked twice, paused, then three times. The door opened smoothly.

"Come on in," Tyler said.

"Thank you, my little brother," she replied, crossing the threshold. With a faint touch to his left shoulder, she asked a question with her eyes. Upon understanding, Tyler pointed her down the hall and to the left. Library. Perfect. "Go. Take your sisters and leave the house."

Only a moment later, Vivi was alone in the house with her mother and stepfather. Step One; blind them. Plunge the house into total blackness. The fuse box was in the basement, accessed through the kitchen. She walked down the stairs almost silently, pulling the box open and tracing her fingers over the entire contents. Master Switch. Yank. Blackness.

Step Two; entrapment. Lock the back door, front door, side door, and all accessable windows. Lock the bathrooms, the closets, and all upstairs bedrooms. Keep them in the main house, on the first floor.
This was completed in only five minutes.

Step Three was the most important step. The final step. She walked into the library, wrapped her arms around Tony's body, and shoved him out of the room. He could not see her face in the back of the house, and because of this, his girlish scream was wordless before she cut it off, snapping his neck. Her mother deserved the same, but she would not. All she did was pull out the knife she so rarely used and slice through her abdomen. Then she walked up the stairs, gathered her boa constricter into her arms, caressing the massive snake's head lightly, and walked calmly out the front door. Her knife was sold moments later.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Her costume arrived the next morning. She intercepted the delivery person, signing for the package and taking it before returning to the appartment she shared with her sire. Unpacking was easy. Trying the costume on took a few moments. Thank the heavens that vampires showed up on film or she'd never know how the thing fit. With a webcam, she scrutinized the fit, checking that every aspect was perfect. No matter that it was a little loose - zombies didn't care whether their clothes fit or not. She'd be fine.

The shoes were a thing of beauty. White with the appearance of being covered in splattered blood. So wonderful on her feet as well.
