All In a Night's Work

Keepin' your turf was a hard business, especially when you had competitors constantly bustin' down your door, tryin' to take everything from you, but Aeryn "Sledge" had seen it all. The power, the money, the women, and the drugs that came along with them all contributed to your wealth and street cred, but lately a this new generation of gangs stepped up their game, snatchin' up more and more of his territory. Well that just ain't goin' to stand! Time to go out and bust some skulls, crush a few kneecaps, and if he had time, cripple the elderly some more. No one messes with the Sledge. No one.

Hey boss! We found dis one outside! He looks hurt!

Aeryn watched as one of his henchmen dragged in a bleeding man from the street. Looked like he got himself in the worse off end of a knife fight, and on his turf, too! He walked over and kicked the injured fellow on the side and spat. "I don't like strangers," Aeryn growled. "Especially when they're bleeding all. Over. My. Goddamn. Floor!" Each punctuated word issued another kick to the side, drawing out a grunt or a groan of pain from the unfortunate soul.

Odd. This guy shoulda been dead a long time ago from the looks of his injuries. A stab to the leg, throat cut open, head bashed in in more places than one. The hell is going on? Aeryn dragged out his favorite toy: a fifteen pound sledge hammer with a broken, jagged end. "What? Don't have anything to say? Huh?" The man screamed as his knee collapsed into a bloody heap from the wide-arc'd swing of Aeryn's hammer. Then again when the other knee went.

I can't believe it...this guy's still conscious! Aeryn dropped the sledge hammer and grinned. He knew he was about to have himself a grand old time with this one.

"I'unno how you're still alive, ya little ********, but I like you. Boys! Get me the chainsaw." The look of fear on the injured man's face was priceless. The terror. The despair. Aeryn drank it all in and it tasted damn good.
