Face Claim Discussion

Inactive Claims
Inactive Claim is being introduced to Path of the Vampire because of long term, inactive holds on claims. If you see a name on this list, which will be added after eighteen (18) months of inactivity going off of your last recent RP post, the player has one month to reintroduce their activity to the game before their claim is removed. The claim may be reclaimed after activity returns and a link to a thread is provided.
This list will become active on 11/8/2020
If not, it will be opened up for grabs.

Code: Select all

Character Name - Face - LAST POST
To reclaim, copy the code above and the one below.

Code: Select all

Active Roleplay title

Ummm i have a bone to pick with how this is done ... I thought you wanted a inclusive RP community ... People that are just getting started in RP will not be posting here on the forum or even at all they LIVE RP .... The removal of claims should not be based on forum posts at all. It should be based on character inactivity ... because many of mine are solely RPed on grid and other places other than the forum! As are many others just because you dont see the RPs dosnt mean others are Not .

This was an owner decision based on the amount of models that were claimed versus not being used. Eighteen months is rather generous in my opinion, and in the light of being candid, I had voted for an even shorter time span.

It was also this or delete the entire list and start fresh.

That said, Path of the Vampire is an online forum based MMORPG. It’s always been a rule that if it’s not posted on the forum, then it isn’t canon. If you’re not posting on the forum, you’ve no need for a claim. If you’re using the chat option on grid, there is a post to site button that does everything for you, all you have to do is give it a title and hit submit. Many of the new players have already found that and used it, because they’re more preferenced to live writing and are learning to get the hang of forum writing.

This, honestly, isn’t something that is open for discussion or going to change. It’s to make it fair for all writers - and yes, more inclusive. All you have to do is make a forum post and utilize Path as it’s meant to be - forum roleplay.

Seriously ... this is what you want to do is clean up the model list .... of people that are moving on the grid but not posting .... say their claims arent welcome unless they rp how you want them to rp ....

Actually, I looked through the database and did a combination of both movement on the grid, in addition to looking through their last IC post before removing anything that hasn’t been active on my cut off, eighteen months ago. That includes IC conversations held on grid. Any accounts removed have not been logged into, period, and my post clearly stated that if they want it back, all they have to do is become active once more and ask.

On regular roleplay forums, accounts are deleted. Threads are archived. Information is pulled entirely after of just three months of inactivity. So, no, in reality we’re being generous with eighteen months. The inactive list hasn’t even begun to start - I specifically put a date in November which gives members clear time to get comfortable with new management and move forward. Their face claim will be listed, they have one month to return to activity. It’s not being done weekly/monthly/or even act to the date.

I made an announcement on Facebook, the forum updated and on the discord. This isn’t out of left field. I cleaned the list up every six months, this is actually giving a heads up when I do it. In total transparency, I wanted to get rid of it all together without a new face claim list period. No one owns these claims - it’s an option offered to be like this is how I envision my character easily and there’s no entitlement to a face as these models are real people. These list cause fights and it’s not really worth the headache, but we’re trying to be fair to everyone as Lana stated.

LMAO i was not arguing about the time or about you not being generous of it it is more than generous... And thank you for the clarification ... Now i most likely would not have said a single thing if I had knew that GRID rp counted in that Not just posting on the forum . That was not clear in the original Post. Like i said many do not post here .

I think there was a bit of miscommunication on my part. I was explaining to how I got to this particular point.

Moving forward, grid roleplay will not count.

We are going to be primarily focusing on forum roleplay - or submitted roleplay, because I don’t think the storyteller account logs it. You can write on grid, but you’ll have to have it count. With that being said? IC posts on CrowNet, be it on a private board or not, will count but in that case it can’t be a clear thing of I’m posting this only to keep my claim because you are still roleplaying IC content and contributing it.

Example -

Mortll calls x a moose on grid. Does not count.

This is because without looking at the database (which I’m not going to do regularly) I don’t know you’re doing anything but grinding without going in depth. Missy also helps me update the list and she doesn’t have access to it, nor does everything show in memories and I’d rather not bridge that IC action to begin with potentially crossing OOC boundaries as players will get upset. Furthermore, the alerts automatically clear after a month, which erases any acknowledgement of IC activity if someone doesn’t log in after a spell.

Mortll calls x a moose on CrowNet, counts.

If you, or other players who prefer grid RP, post regularly enough on CrowNet, this will qualify you to be roleplaying on the forum. Not everyone is comfortable with long form, but if you’re a roleplayer, you should be showing at least some IC activity. You’re clearly not doing it just to keep a face claim, but actively contributing to Path, it’s forum and the community.

We’re currently in discussion about potential RPP bonuses with those who write on the forum, introducing RPP into private forums and more - we want to give people more incentive but we do need some patience. I posted earlier on the discord that the rules are being worked on by staff and this is going to be part of it.
