"You find any loose zombies?" Kira asked her wraith, she made a point to clear the area of zombies every so often so that normal humans wouldn't have to deal with them. Dave was in his van, making rounds. He could kill zombies on his own though, normal zombies were easy enough and it's something he had been doing for years considering Kira's need for zombie ears.Random Time. "The area seems pretty clear." Marcus replied before moving on ahead.
Kira looked around, it seemed pretty dead in this area, well with no undead roaming around. There was one more section to check. There were a lot of abandoned buildings to look through, there might be homeless that zombies would go after. She headed inside an old warehouse, it looked rather run down, holes in the roof. Evidence of animal life living in it.
She made out a figure laying on the ground. She tilted her head, homeless? No, that was a pretty nice suit the man was wearing. Was he breathing? She watched the chest for a moment, she didn't really want to deal with cops at the moment and finding a dead body meant calling cops. The right thing to do. The chest rose, she heard a slight gasp. Alive. But that wasn't normal breathing.
Kira made her way over to the man, he was older. Age late 60s maybe? Maybe even older. (Muse real age is 89 but want him at a younger age)
She knelt down, feeling his pulse, it was rather slow. What was he doing out here? Did he have dementia? She noticed a pill bottle. She picked it up, looking at the name. trazodone. Not a common sleep aide to try to OD with but add that with the empty bottle of alcohol made it worse.
What was going on in this man's life that he wanted to just end it? She took out her cell phone and dialed the emergency number. "I have an man in his late 60s maybe. Slow breathing and heart rate. I think he OD on a bottle of trazodone and alcohol." she said.
"Will he respond to you? Do you know his name?" they asked.
"The bottle has the name Luca McTavish." she replied, shaking the man's shoulder. "Luca?"
The man opened his eyes but he wasn't really seeing clearly. "Ava?" he said, she could hear a thick Scottish accent to his voice even though his voice was weak.
"What is your location?"
Kira gave them the location, she sent a message for Dave to come by with the van so that they could look for it. She stayed on the line, waiting. She jumped when the man took her hand, calling her Ava again.
"Lay still. Help is on the way." she said, there was no point on correcting him that she wasn't whoever this Ava was. She heard the sirens coming closer and stop in front the building. They came in with a stretcher and started to check his vitals, blood pressure was seriously low as well.
They loaded him up and asked her to come by the hospital for some questions. She really hoped it wasn't with cops. She headed over to the van and got in.
"What was that all about?" Dave asked, starting up the van.
"Some guy trying to kill himself. We're going to the hospital too. I have to answer some questions I guess.." Kira replied, leaning back in her seat.
Dave turned the van around to head to the hospital, they got there shortly after the man arrived. Kira hopped out of the van and headed towards the door, Dave following behind her.
"Hi, a older man was brought in. An OD. I was told to come answer some questions." Kira said, she was shown to the hallway. They were already working on stabilizing him. Once they did, the doctor came out to talk to her.
"Are you family?" he asked.
Kira shook her head. "No, I found him." she replied.
"Well, it's a good thing you did. He wouldn't have made it otherwise." the doctor replied.
"So he's going to be okay?" Kira asked.
"Yes, though we'll have to hold him for awhile for his mental health but he'll live."
"He obviously didn't want to for some reason." Kira replied, "I hope you guys can figure that all out." Kira quickly left when she saw some cops walk in, grabbing Dave by the arm on the way out. "Let's go home. Getting close to sunrise." she said.
Dave drove home, parking the van. They got out of the van, Dave went to go check on the horses while Kira went inside. She had enough time to feed the cats and dogs before heading up to her room as the sun started to rise, feeling the pull to sleep.
