[B] Infinity Hour No Business Hack Cap

Post by Charlie »

Apparently when you hack a specific business/not-so-random combination of letters or numbers, you can only do so once and upon attempting a second time you'll receive:

Code: Select all

++ Security warning.
++ You have already hacked this system today. Try another.
+
+ You are currently in node __
+ System alert is at: green.
+ You have -1 actions remaining.
+
+
+ LOCKED OUT OF SYSTEM
During infinity hour I managed to hack the same combo 11 times in a row while farming for source codes.

Could somebody try this again with a different random combo of letters during the next infinity hour? I might miss the hour and not be able to, and I'd rather not trigger such a huge event for the sake of testing one bug.

I wasn't able to recreate it.

I tried with abc and then with an actual existing business Harper Rock News — and neither allowed me more than one hack.

Thank you for testing. My guess is that it was a string that was rejected by the DB, allowing it to be used over and over, so it all depends on the string used.
