Youtube App vs Path App [x]
When someone postds a youtube video in a thread, it kicks me out of the Path App and auto loads it in another player. Is there a way to stop the youtube videos from autoloading, or disabling youtube videos?

Re: Youtube Videos
I *think* that might be your device's settings? I had an issue like that on my pixelbook. What devices are you using and does it happen on all devices you have tried?

Re: Youtube Videos
if you use the browser on your galaxy, does it also try to open the youtube app? (I'm presuming that's the player you mean, it's what I had to remove on mine as it was a very aggressive/assertive app... lol)

Re: Youtube Videos
When I open the same forum post in the browser of my phone, it doesn't autoload. The video is there and I can choose to view it or not.

Re: Youtube Videos
that sounds like it's working exactly as it should be then, for the browser. Thank you.
I'll add the youtube app back on my phone and try using the path app again and see if it recreates the issue for me.

Re: Youtube Videos
oh yeah, that did it. And omg it's really obnoxious, lol. >.< SO glad I wasn't out somewhere or at work!
The second you open a page (any page) on the forum that has ANY youtube on it, the youtube app will open and start blasting adverts. >.< And I've got a paid youtube to boot so double bug. But I think it's a bug with youtube...... ? At least the ad playing part is.
I've looked for a setting on the path app and tried all my other settings as well, I am not able to find a way to use the app to view the forum without youtube butting in if there are any videos posted on whatever page you are *trying* to view.
Meanwhile I'm killing that youtube app on the phone again, lol.
*stabs it multiple times*

Re: Youtube App vs Path App [A?]
Yeah, this is super annoying. I'll look into options to see if there's something that can be done about it short of yanking the youtube code.

Okay, so this has to do with app settings it looks like - so there's not really anything we can do on our end aside from remove youtube embeds entirely.
There is something you can do on your end though:
1) Navigate to your youtube app icon and pull up the options for it by pressing the icon for a few seconds.
2) Scroll down to App settings, which should have a 'set as default' category
3) Press the 'set as default' for a few seconds and when you lift your finger away, it'll pull up a new screen
4) Look at 'Go to Supported URLs". This is what causes the youtube app to automatically pop up every time there's a youtube video on your page
5) Set it to 'always ask' by holding down 'Go to supported URLs'
This should make it so that rather than making the youtube app pop up, it instead asks you in browser what to do with it. And you can choose to: pull up the app, have the video play in browser, or just tap somewhere else on the screen to dismiss the request as they pop up.
