Re: Chapter 8 Questions & Answers
Nice. This has me thinking now.
Does the charity have a website and are there any databases connected to it? In other words, can you do a basic search to learn more about the charity and any upcoming events or fundraising, and could you volunteer from this website? I also ask because I was wondering how hackable it is.
How does the Order work too? Do they find you or do find them? I read it was a NPC faction of paladins.

Re: Chapter 8 Questions & Answers
They probably have a public website which has information about the charity - basically just giving their mission statement, and some facts related to their cause. Like the rate of child mortality, and how much of that was preventable with the right medical care. I imagine they have some interesting graphics and infographics, but the site is sparse. There's going to be a couple of contact details, like an e-mail, which will never get replied to. There's a phone number that connects to a robo message system owned by the Foundation. Sort of 'Press one to learn of upcoming events' type of thing, with a few options. They also take voice messages, but those almost never get return calls unless someone particularly interests them.Sullivan wrote:Nice. This has me thinking now.

The site itself is probably super hackable, but it doesn't contain any pertinent information. The stuff they want to keep private is handled in person, because you can't hack an in person conversation type of deal - which is precisely the kind of paranoid they are LOL
And yeah. Volunteering opportunities could probably be looked up through the phone robot. I imagine they do most of their charity work in the form of fundraising dinners, which are catered. They work exclusively with human run businesses, though they don't make a big deal out of it. They just don't want vampires getting into their charity events (for whatever reason).

Re: Chapter 8 Questions & Answers
If I was going to rp as Sullivan getting in touch with the charity and attending their volunteering activities, how would I go about doing that?

Re: Chapter 8 Questions & Answers
The charity has something akin to a candy striper type of volunteer program, though it's something of a diversion, if I'm being honest. It's managed by someone very low on their totem pole, who doesn't have any real information. And it's just one of the things the Foundation does to 'legitimize' whatever else it has going on.
If you wanted your human character to be involved in helping with one of the charity dinners (where they get most of their work done), the character would just need to be a temp of some kind working food service. A cook. A waiter. Someone who would have access to the charity.
Mind you, they aren't going to be talking openly about what their charity does. They have what amounts to a collection the foundation members put cash into before the whole thing starts.
It would likely seem as if the wealthy Foundation members all know each other. This is because they do, and they collude outside of the charity dinners.
They are very suspicious of outsiders and new people.
The dinners themselves are elegant affairs, expensive food, expensive venue, lots of toasts, lots of stories and laughter. A speech or two about the Foundation and its good work, etc.
If you wanted to have your character infiltrate it, they can. It would take a lot of persuasive ability to get any of them to talk at all. They're surprisingly close knit even if it's not 100% obvious.
I'd be cool with information getting out that way, and you can NPC the foundation members. They just need to be rich, closed mouth, and generally seem to either distrust or dislike vampires (though this wouldn't immediately come up - they might mention it if someone queries them creatively).
You would probably need to do several charisma checks on the members if you're trying to charm them. Intimidation won't work. It'd take a bit to outsmart them just to get a little bit of information. So you'll probably find a lot of closed doors. But if you could get your character close to one of the Foundation member NPCs (using several charisma checks to ensure they're actually buying your character's motives, ideas, what he says about himself), then that would work.
But be sure to end the thread ambiguously - as there's no guarantee even if the character does get very close to a foundation member, that they'll get any info.
If part 1 of the chapter ends with the admin being aided, then there would almost certainly be info given though - which I'd post when it comes time for the story to update.

Re: Chapter 8 Questions & Answers
Potentially both, depending on how the threads are structured. Though information at the end of the phase (If the Admin is aided) will be revealed in the chapter thread. Smaller details can be released via PM or in the individual RP threads (again, if the Admin is aided), though they would be less impactful info.

At what time on the 25th do the sliders 'lock'?
And, do we need to send a summary of our threads to you with the link?
(If both have been answered, sorry!)

It'll be later tonight - close to midnight EST.
And I would deeply appreciate summaries, but they aren't required. <3
