May PVE Faction Test?
Would anyone be up for starting a PVE (player VS Environment [NPCs]) faction with new characters created in May? I figured it would be fun to make use of the new character bonus + double teamwork bonuses + random daily community event bonuses to see how fast we can level up brand new characters.
The idea would be to work together in every way possible (ignoring PVP for now), but mostly to fight NPCs in groups in order to maximise our level gains. So I figure we could have two or three times a day when anyone available jumps onto a chat (or Discord) and co-ordinates our fighting against NPCs. Then we can share up loot and heal and craft some weapons or whatever in the downtime.
Not only would it be a good test for the team NPC battles system, but it would also encourage a bit more community participation. I wouldn't have the lead character, of course. I'd suggest that falls to a non-mod to have the leader. And if people enjoy the faction it can of course carry on past May, in RP and PVP too.
I guess before anyone creates their characters, it might be an idea to agree on what the faction stands for? What their aims are. And don't just say family, loyalty, etc. What are the IC opinions about things? I suggest a group that works like a kinda old school d&d adventurers group. Kinda like the Companions from Skryim. The goal is protecting the vulnerable, or seeking challenge and adventure in combat, while making money like a group of mercs. Maybe a group of superheroes? lol. I'm open to ideas.

This sounds really cool! I would love love love to see something like this get off the ground. Can't wait to see what people come up with as far as faction goals/motivation. <3

Re: May PVE Faction Test?
Awesome, I’m in! I love to build me some fighter models. XD
In terms of what the Faction could be about, I remember that there is already a group being built around survival, Superstite. I’m not entirely sure if they are working for personal gain, i.e. the survival of themselves through community actions, or purely to build the community up – but the ends tend to justify the means.
Would we see the faction as a pure Vampire or Human group, or would there be a mix?
I would have to assume that for this faction to be built by new characters who are started in May that they would have to know each other at least on some level in RP terms. This doesn’t necessarily mean they have to be related or anything, but it would seem farfetched to me that these people who all come to HR in the same month and join the same faction don’t know each other from Adam.
Dare I play the Devil’s advocate, but this would be a perfect time for a group of opportunistic criminals to come to HR and stir up strife – so the faction can easily be an evil one instead. Move over Companions, the Thief’s Guild is here! Or maybe even The Dark Brotherhood… Mmmmmmm…. Skyrim references. <3

Re: May PVE Faction Test?
That’s still in the process of figuring that out entirely, tbh. >.> The things that happen over nearly two years. /slow but steady?
But survival goals also come in all shapes and sizes, forms, so really that could still be a common goal for several.
On another note, yes! I think this would be a fantastic thing to do. More factions should appear and fun to be had. I’ll have to debate if I need/want any more characters myself, but I definitely agree this would be nice.

I'm open to any motivation and back story that the founder comes up with. I'd just be interested in the teamwork and levelling aspect. A criminal group sounds as good as a group of supernatural heroes to me.

I'm game as long as I don't have to RP.

I'd force ya'll to RP if it were up to me. A prerequisite of joining a RP forum is that you should be RPing in some form or sense. You made a character, that is RP.
I think what you're talking about it writing narrative on the forums, which is a separate beast altogether. This is also another discussion altogether, so let's take that debate away if need be.
In essence: give me power and I will be a tyrant.
