Jazir Pevinah
He was sitting in a chair, feet crossed, one over the other and fingers linked, a pensive sort of frown on his face. At first glance it seemed like he was staring at the elevator, but in reality he wasn't even seeing what he was looking at. His mind so far away and lost in the highways and biways of the internet and various computer systems around the city.

Jazir Pevinah
'Katalina...will you meet me somewhere. I have a question I need to ask you.'

Jazir Pevinah
The words settled between them despite the distance, a single blink giving away his shift in focus before he was back to what he'd been thinking about before.

The warmth spread over her lips. A metallic tinge clashing with the snow and sunset that danced in her head. It was a cold day, with a sky marred by the grey of November. The man shivered as smoke blew out his nose and mouth like a dragon emitting steam. The haze brought out the shades of orange and purple in an ever rising Sun - or was it setting? It was hard to be sure as Katalina gulped down another mouthful of pure ecstasy. A chill ran through her system as something broke through the connection - like stone shattering glass. Katalina released her grip on the old drunk, her fangs suddenly retracting in a moment that made him gasp before slumping back down against the brick wall. Katalina's primal instincts had her growling in a fit of depravity. She had needed to stop - but she could help the feeling - until it hit her - the voice was Jazir. She shook her head, trying to yank herself from the illusion blood can offer. She finally kneeled down to lick the wound closed. A clean bite, for a change. She stood, somewhat grateful for the interruption.

Jazir Pevinah
He hadn't heard from his Childer since the last time they had spoken and if he hadn't been able to reach for her mind and feel the connection as solid and strong as ever it would have disturbed him. Especially considering their last meeting. Vampiric healing meant there were no tale tell marks marring his skin, but he hadn't liked the wild look in her eyes or the pained desperation in the plea she'd spoken. Even agreeing to consider it at all twisted something tight and hot through his heart in a way that had his fingertips twitching against the table top and then tapping restlessly. Despite how focused he seemed to be on the connection he'd made to the local systems humming in the nearby computers he was distressed. Those who knew him well would have seen it right off the bat. It was difficult to wait, but he knew she'd heard him, it was just a matter of patience as everything in life was.

Katalina Black
She slowly turned her head to the side. Waiting for something more. She wanted to ask him: 'Where?' But, her thoughts remained dormant to any mind other than her own.

Jazir Pevinah
It took him a good fifteen minutes before the idea occured to him that she wasn't going to send him an email in reply. He blinked to pull out of his own thoughts for a moment and then reached out again. Finally committing to asking her for help entirely.

Jazir Pevinah
'I'm at Corvida Flats...if you're nearby. If you can meet me here I'll be here all night long.'

Katalina Black
A strange buzz passed through her head, then his voice again followed. It was a little nerve racking - but not near as unsettling as the unanticipated voice of her brother. Katalina was, indeed, close at hand. She had a tendency of wondering the Quarantine Zone for a meal. Tonight was no exception. She debated doing as he asked, but why would he bother her if it were not important? "When did I start caring?" She hissed at herself. Doing so was dangerous. Even more so considering who she was associated with but, she found her feet turning in his direction. She did not spare another glace at her last victim as she eased around the edged around the building and slunk around the ally-ways like a shadow of the night. The smell of rotten flesh pierced the tainted air. Her hand went to her back as she slowly unsheathed a sword. It wasn't a blue-hilted beauty like the one she held before. Did not mean she could not counter its off balance weight. She eased around, peering at the undead in the darkness. She ran her tongue over her teeth, tasting both blood and the hunger to fight. With a small grunt, Katalina stepped back to face the task at hand. Leaving the horde untouched, yet ever present thought in her mind as she made her way to the Flats, opening the door. Her weapon in hand.

Jazir Pevinah
He could tell when she walked in, it had him blinking, a slight twitch running from head to foot before his head turned and he looked towards her. He waited for her to scan the room before he lifted his hand in a wave. The weight of what he wanted to ask her was a heavy thing, but he had made a promise to his Childer to help, so he would at the very least ask. Even if he already figured he knew what her answer would be.

Katalina Black
To give him credit, he knew exactly what she was going to do. She peered about the room, surveying whether there was a cobra ready to strike. The floor was not completely empty, to her dismay. But, no one paid her a second glance, or even a first. There were humans about here too. She couldn't help but wonder if they knew what surrounded them? But, with the hunger satiated, she could easily ignore those pesky underlying thoughts. Her eyes finally found the man who had not taken his off of her, and Katalina swiftly and soundlessly made her way to where he sat. "You wanted me?" Her words were as light as her footsteps.

Jazir Pevinah
"I have a question I need to ask you...I think I know what your answer will be but I'm not in a position where I can get away with not asking it at all." His voice was even, a little edgy with how frustrated he was, even if none of his agitation seemed directly related to her or her presence. "Feel free to find a chair and sit so you're more comfortable. I've got to think about how I want to present this anyways..."

Katalina Black
She pursed her lips, not liking the sound of that. His questions usually ended her being dinner. He knew how she felt on that subject. But, she was not going to be rude to him, considering the events passed. She walked around to where an old decorative love-seat squatted. It was once a crisp white, but had turned cream with age and malcare. She sat on the far edge wand waved him over.

He moved, answering her gesture by following her over to a far more comfortable seat. Then he was silent for a moment or two. "I have a Childer...her name is Vi...she made the decision to be a necurat like I did..." The normal paranoia that usually edged his demeanor was vastly muted. Most of those standing close enough to hear the low spoken words already knew. "Her significant other died...he is in the Fade. It has sapped her sanity as he was her main provider and she is close to being feral. She has been trying to get herself killed so she could join him."

Jazir Pevinah
"I've done this myself, I know the toll it takes...as do you...she does not. She has no comprehension of what she's trying to do or the consequences of it..."

Katalina Black
Katalina's face grew grim. She could imagine how Vi felt, though she lacked the ability to know what losing her mate must have felt like, she did know the loss of her brother, and she did know the pain so fierce that one would rather die than feed. "If she goes down that path, she will most likely kill everything around her rather than actually dying." She stated this as if she were speaking an unchangeable fact. "And...even if she were to succeed..." Those trailed off words grew darker. "I once heard a saying there were things worse than death...but I disagee."
